If the appearnce fee thing is true, and we cannot shift him, then the obvious thing to do is to renegotiate with him a much lower appearance fee. Skacel would be better off getting, say, £500 per match rather than £0 for rotting in the reserves. I for one think he's a good player, and I reckon JP can get him fit and motivated.

If we had stayed at the Dell, the financial problems would have caiught up with us. The stadium costs, I think around £2m PA. At this stage that probably require attendances of around 20000 to pay for itself, which we have, till now, achieved. Lowe got us a very good ground at probably the cheapest price of any major new stadium. I'm not a big Lowe fan, but for that he deserves credit. Staying at the Dell would have been very negative. My guess on the finances is that the much touted £4m figure would basically reduce the overdraft to around zero. What really matters in the short /medium term is being cash positive, whichmay be rather more achievable, especially if we vcan yet loan out a couple of big earners. the bank may well be content to wait till jan to get the O/D down. As for gates of 20000 +, they would have to cut prices dramatically.Or get in the top 6.

Thing about Thomas is, if he isn't being sold, why isn't he involved? He's a very competent playet at this level, though we did pay way too much.

as regards money, by my back of fag packet calculations, a £1.2 m fee would save at least £150k PA on interest on the overdraft. I know this is probably factored in, but it does show how , if Lowe gets the overdraft down, some half decent replacements are possible.
