  1. like last season. I think someone will go down with over 50 points. Means we probably need 16 from the next ten games to be safe before the last day.
  2. it would almost be worth it to see the skates get a bit of FA help to build a 45000 seater, only for relegation to follow,(it DOES happen you know) and 10000 rattle around something the size of 3 IKEAs. Make our place looked full to overflowing.
  3. never agreed with us playing in Blue shirts. stripes at home. Yellow away. I'd like to see us go back to yellow/black away.
  4. so why try to build a new stadium??

    old songs

we hate Nottingham Forest........... The multimedia age has led to more "genre" outlets for music, and less national collective experience of music. In the 60s and 70 s pop songs were regularly used and adapted. Only happens occasionally now.
  6. without big outside financial backing, the PL future for any club with a 20k stadium, (often nearly full admittedly) is short term. That is the reality.
  7. if we were that close to administration, surely the activity in the transfer window would have been very different. I suspect that the clubs cash flow projections have us Ok into the summer. However, they might get a nasty shock when the ST renewals are off the bottom of the scale.
  8. What has ruined football is the abolition of second/third /fourth replays at random neutral venues.(and on odd days of the week). I wonder if a single poster on this board was at the second replay against Chester at the hawthorns in 1972. Those replays were great fun, all abolished in the so called modern age.
  9. The title of this thread should inform the clubs ST price decision to0. My Plan?(For CCC or L1) £199 corners £250 Wings/ Chapel/Northam £300 Centre £350 Half way Directors box £250 K Teens £100 Kids £50 Any 3 home games bought in advance. £50 That way we can keep match to match prices higher, and get a good return from the away fans !!!!
  10. well the second half thing is interesting. Preston threw everthing at it, with the three H/T subs.Given that they are a top 6 side (just shows what you can do on limited resources) I thought we kept them pretty quiet second half. Even after conceding we looked well focussed on the job in hand, with just the one scare at 3-1. I felt we stuck realy well to a plan today. Things did go our way today, but we DID play a top 6 side off the park in the first half, and we did look solid in holding the lead. I really don't know about Wotte and his supposed personaliy flaws. If he doesn't get on with Euell, thats fine by me if Euell keeps playing like that. That 11 , playing something like that must be in with a good shout of getting the points we need. I agree that 3 points against Cardiff is vital, but what we need most of all is decent form going into the last 10 games, and everyone at the club pulling together.
  11. I shall still turn up to support the team.Saints are OUR club, not ruperts, whatever it says on the share certificates. However, I do think that a one match, or even half match boycott, would be a spectacular way to show our dissatisfaction.
  12. easy one. Wigley. Fit of pique at the rejection of Hoddle. beginning of the end. stupid sod.
  13. Have to agree. I have never been so pessimistic about our chances of staying up.(and 14 games to go yet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) The bitter divisions all over the place just make a miracle recovery less and less likely.
  14. I would have thought that the power that SCC DO have is to make it very clear to norwich Union that Football/sport (?! that would be nice for a change) is the ONLY activity that the planning dept will allow at SMS. NU will then just have to negotiate the best deal they can, on the basis that some income is better than none. I suspect though that NU have already cut a deal with Lowe, in the knowledge that they may have to keep renegotiating as we slide.
  15. actually, I think the revenge goes back to the Hoddle reappointment fiasco. He gave us Wigley, which the whole world knew was a disaster, and basically said "if you don't want hod, try a dose of relegation instead. He is one vindictive individual. One day we will come back without him, askham and the rest of his cronies, but its going to be a long long road.
  16. Its impossible. Oh hang on, Norwich do it every year. You are so right. there are two ways out of the mess we are in. 1. White Knight. Yeah right. 2. refocussing the club onto REAL community involvement, including, in fact leading with,STs a an attractive price.I guess there are plenty of people out there willing to back the club with a modest invesment (£200 for a ST in the corners?), but who are sick of being taken for mugs, by the great and good fighting amongst themselves. Look at the turnout for Forest. 20000 STs at £200 average has got to be more than we got in ST revenue this season. THIS is how to sell tickets. http://www.trentonthunder.com/
  17. the infighting over hoddle was a problem. BUT there have been plenty of opportunities to make good decisions since then which we have failed to do EG Keeping Nigel Pearson.
  18. Yes, I saw it. It suggests to me that there are better ways of running provincial football teams than the current models. Widescale community involvement, including involvement as paying, valued customers could be part of this. Sorry, can't cut and paste the ad though.
  19. rupes and the marketing team might learn a few lessons here http://www.trentonthunder.com/ about how to sell tickets and build relatioships with the "Customers". or we can carry on charging £24 to people who can just as easily look at the weather and/or our home record and decide to spend elsewhere. As the boss of the Thunder said today, its about stretching that buck to do a bit more. Wake up, rupes.
  20. thought it looked a fair price!!!
  21. whatever happens, the fan will end up paying more. Thats the whole point. Thats what happened when the PL went over to Sky. Thats what happened when Sky's monopoly was broken. Thats what will happen again.
  22. reputation certainly counts for a lot. Even if you never saw Channon play, (and he possibly wasn't one of the two most talented strikers we have ever had) his record playing for us almost demands a vote. No other stiker has come near his goal tally or number of England caps while at the club.
  23. first time I have ever not attended due to weather issues. I really did think I might not get back to Winterslow after the game. No doubt us Winterslowers and you Bourne Valleyers will be back in strength for the next game!! Perhaps we will see a second home win before the season ends.
  24. they must have lost a lot of customers and goodwill tonight. A lot of people with STs and tix will not have gone , or turned back. Arsenal made the right decision yesterday. This is not about being soft, its about good sense when a lot of people have to come a long way (and spend a lot of money). A bad nights work all round. (Glad i didn't even set out, as i too would have got caught on pepperbox, and thats the GOOD route from where I live)
  25. loads of snow falling NOW near salisbury. Very cold too.
