There is a lot of misinformation out there, ( edit : on all sides) such as the recent Hilary Jones et al quote about 90% of people in hospital with covid being unvaxxed, which is just complete nonsense, and went unchallenged. my “point “ is that there is a huge amount of data , and considerable misunderstanding about who is being affected .I’m just linking to a useful source, that’s all. Re the size of the vaxxed/ unvaxxed populations, the size of the unvaxxed population is a matter of some controversy, as there are two different measures used.

There is a mountain of data out there. It really does make sense to try to look behind the headlines, to try to get an idea of what is really going on, and not rely on some of the more blatant misinformation , such as the “90 % of people in hospital are unvaxxed” that was repeated several times recently on TV. the weekly UKHSA vaccine surveillance report is a very useful tool, as the raw data is probably reliable. https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/1039677/Vaccine_surveillance_report_-_week_49.pdf in the latest week published, it shows broadly, among the 18+ age groups : (Vaxxed numbers are fully double vaxxed ) Cases unvaxxed 95k vaxxed 467k Emergency care admissions unvaxxed 2676 vaxxed 4526 deaths with covid within 28 days unvaxxed 704 vaxxed 2480 ( of the deaths, 2226 were among the over 70s)

So, how exactly do you know that the unvaxxed are “scared” ? Any actual evidence ? meanwhile , in real news, still not a shred of evidence that vaccine passports have any public health benefit whatsoever. But both big parties just wave them through anyway. That is something that we should all think long and hard about.
-
You didn't read the vaccine surveillance report, did you ? You know, the UKHSA one. Please read it properly,it is important. You are just wrong on this.

The weekly vaccine surveillance report has very good information to use. Check table 10 for total numbers of hospitalisation and deaths by age and vaccination status. You need to add up the totals yourself. I suspect that the 500 cases of unvaccinated under 18s needing hospital treatment is a statistical red herring due to how recently they have been receiving the jab. https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/1039677/Vaccine_surveillance_report_-_week_49.pdf

The problem there is that the hospitals have very large numbers of vaccinated people with covid, (approx 65/ 70% of hospitalisations) and that 80% of covid attributed deaths currently are vaccinated. All in the weekly vaccine surveillance report. As for vaccine passports, which as night follows day will extend into other areas of life, we will all come to wish them gone, and they will be very hard to remove. We should be very careful what we wish for. They are a really terrible development, with no demonstrable public health benefit. Two parliamentary committees found no justification for them.

Well if that is the case, and I think you are likely correct, the only obvious remedy short of changing the style, is bolder use of subs.

Comments above seem about right. The second goal was a killer, we looked a bit disorganised for ot, watching from the other end. We caused them quite a few problems in the last half an hour but Ipswich did defend well with the two goal cushion. They might just have been a bit more jittery with just a one goal lead. Thought Milly Mott was very impressive when she came on.
-
And a cracking winning goal it was. the Swindon keeper was outstanding.
-
Yes, I know that.
-
Well statistically that is the probability according to an online calculator. of course at a level of 2.5% probability it will happen relatively soon to some team or other. Doesn't change the odds though.

2.59% chance of getting 15 aways out of 21. 100 chance of Dean being involved

Until there is either some actual evidence that vaccine passports have some public health benefit, ( and the parliamentary committee found that they didn’t) or even a strong case made for how that might be, there is no case whatsoever even for the threat of imposing them. And of course, the plan for passports with no testing option , is actually complete nonsense , in the sense that many of those who would have been free to attend are actually more likely to be infected than those unvaxxed who had tested negative.

It isn't a question of not being prepared to take five minutes to do the right thing, which I'm sure all of us would do in order to get out of the covid mess. It is to do with the fact that there is no demonstrable public health benefit of vaccine passports, and the concerns that people have about where they might lead in terms of the individual's relationship with the state. https://committees.parliament.uk/committee/327/public-administration-and-constitutional-affairs-committee/news/155788/no-justification-for-covid-passports-say-committee/

There is no demonstrable benefit in vaccine passports. Even the parliamentary committee said so in their report. Went to a full house League 1 game last night, ( not down the M27 !! ) there were no covid certification checks at all, thankfully.

Well you have a point, but he did have enough time to show glimpses, and he never showed even that, IMO. But as I say it is odd, and we may yet get something good from him.Hope so. He wouldn’t be the first to make good after a dodgy start.
-
It is really odd how his record everywhere else is so good, admittedly in less strong leagues, yet he was so dreadful for us.you might have expected him at least to make a handy squad player. Perhaps he will yet.
-
Looks like the parliamentary committee embarrassed themselves too. ttps://committees.parliament.uk/committee/327/public-administration-and-constitutional-affairs-committee/news/155788/no-justification-for-covid-passports-say-committee/

The Telegraph report tonight makes good reading for those who like to discriminate against the unvaccinated. just the covid unvaxxed, mind. For now. Till the next demand .
-
Of course he is being excluded . Vaccine passports have no public health benefit, and will prove disastrous for the relationship between the state and the individual, a relationship that has already been hugely damaged.

The match stats from the Charlton game make interesting reading.

True, but there is time for them to lose some form yet.

I'd be interested to know what those of you who are parents of school age kids think about getting your children vaccinated ? Or even hearsay evidence from friends and colleagues.
