  1. in a odd way the -10 may help . Most people are pretty realistic , and realise we are more likely than not to spend at least 2 years in L1, which perhaps gives us a chance to properly plan long term.We really DO need some planning and patience.
  2. so we don't want a true Saints fan, who is prepared to put his money up front to save the club, on the board of the new company? But we do want someone whose identity we don't even know, to own the whole thing? That logic beats me. Oh, and before anyone starts, yes I DO want mystery man to save us.Very pleased about it.
  3. If they DID get others to pay the cash, it may just be that they are not daft enough to risk their own money. Or then again maybe they are not so wealthy. Or they didn't have the readies, but are wealthy(ish). or etc etc etc
  4. This Osman- worth Saints having a look?
  5. WEll since so many clubs want Surman , two things follow. 1. We should get a BIG fee after a bidding war. 2. Lots of CCC managers agree with those Saints fans who think he is a good player !!!
  6. we have better friendlies than the Skates- only Benfica for them I think!!
  7. If HMRC are paid in full, can they legally vote against a CVA? .
  8. Charlton, MK, Millwall and Bristol Rovers all have "new" STs, (not renewals) at £300 or less.
  9. This is a good point. In among all the relief etc, it would be great if a really solid structure could be set in place for an eventual buyout by a fans trust, or whatever, some years from now. It really should not be beyond our calabilities to create a fund that would buy the club at a going rate in a few years time.
  10. MK have it spot on. Sell the best seats at premium prices,(with sweetners) sell as many as you can at cheap prices elsewhere. In my view, lots of people will buy at under 300 as you can afford to miss quite a few games and still get a good deal.
  11. When STs do go on sale I would suggest much wider differenciation in price. Sell the very best seats at premium prices for those who want/can afford them(with sweetners added in ?). Then sell as many as possible at attractive prices (£250/£295) for the corners etc. There must be plenty of people who miss some game each season but who would pay up on the basis that they , say, £295 is still cheaper than 15 walk ups.
  12. As usual our preparation will be less than perfect. But the club has to plan longer term. We need to be aimimg to build a really good side to get promoted in 2 years time, a team good enough to then compete in the CCC. Any success next season would be a bonus. Short term ism has to be a thing of the past.
  13. Perhaps the new owner can buy you skates your own message board.
  14. but really, who cares? We don't, and neither will anyone else.We will have our own team to support, and our own board to argue on.

    Radio Hampshire

You can be confident about avoiding news about poopey and the arms dealers by listening to Radio 3. This has the added advantage of no news OR speculation about the Super Saints!! It does help if you like classical music, obviously.
  16. i know. These threads get kinda confusing. I shall now go and speak my great good sense somewhere else!! i think most fans are pretty realistic. Best we can hope for is a stab at the playoffs. we need to build a promotion team for 2010-11. Can't belive I am typing that, on several levels.
  17. In order to thrive, this club needs good management, and a plan. That plan needs to include rebuilding a winning attitude, rebuilding the fanbase, and accepting that along the way there may be setbacks. when the setbacks occur we need to stick to the plan, and NOT panic. Wolves this season show what can be done on the back of previous failure.
  18. been hit by the full stop shortage??!!
  19. Supporting Saints is like being in a broken dream .
  20. Jodie Craddock was hanging around for years t Christchurch as we ignored him
  21. Quite. I for one will be VERY happy if LC is involved in saving our Saints. He isn't perfect. If we wait for perfection we are going to have to be VERY patient!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  22. The league managers association. Brings a whole new dimension to the concept of "pointlessness". In fact we could probably use one of their members, as "pointless" is a state we are liable to be in for some time yet.
  23. Hope "buster" crabbe is guest of honour should we be able to fulfill the fixture. Also. Was John Sharpe a Saints and Gills man?
  24. It would be a really big help if our younger players had good, consistent management and selection policies.
  25. This is a potential problem. Gaydamac might just fancy a cheap stadium to store his drugs and guns, along with a nice playing surface for paul harts mercenaries.
