  1. whichever way you look at it our attendances are pretty good. Leeds have a FAR bigger fanbase. Norwich are a lesson to the others. We are UP on last season, when we were in a higher league. When we are on a run we will get terrific crowds. And EVERYBODY(except norwich ) loses 25% when they drop out of the PL
  2. you really have to wonder what is going on training wise on our (his )corner delivery. Sure MLT could get Lallana delivering better in no time. Really good to see him score, though. Will be a class act, and deserves some reward for his recent hard working performances.
  3. TBF we have replaced the losing ethos with a drawing ethos recently. An ethos that would do OK on Saturday at least.
  4. that fancy hyphen of yours won't fool anyone into thinking that you are the real teamsaint................imposter!!
  5. it might help if someone posted a team selected from all the plyares who were "rubbish" at Saints, but who thrive elsewhere: Davenport, Delap, Blackstock, Fuller, etc etc. Paterson will make into a very decent player, given any kind of decent coaching etc.
  6. one day.
  7. Charlton took us to the cleaners last season at SMS.Certainly didn't look a relegation side then. We on the other hand finished last season badly, lost several key players , and have failed to "gel" the new players quickly. We really do have to be patient, I think.
  8. Lallana needs to be turned into an out and out striker IMO.
  9. quite so. Added to our failure to keep a clean sheet yet.
  10. Those who are busy having a go at the new regime would do well to contemplate where we were just a few weeks ago. A team thart had been hopeless for two years. Years and years of chaos off the pitch in all the important areas.(coaching, scouting, boardroom etc) A team probably the worst in the CCC shorn of at least two of its best players, and with a number of others who really don't want to be here. Yes, what we really need after 5 games is to have a go at our (thank you god!) billionaire owner, and a manger we could only have dreamed of getting two months ago. Its going to be a long long road back, and we really have to be very patient. AP will have us going in the right direction soon. Happy to be a "happy Clappy " for a while!!
  11. Sounds as though we are, slowly, heading in the right direction. However, to blame a dodgy late pen is missing the point. If the ball is in your box, bad things can, and do happen. We spent the last couple of minutes far too deep, and paid the price. Still, win our next four at home and it will all look better!!
  12. vokes on loan? or is he getting a game at wolves?
  13. if we buy and sell players at big profits then its good for us and ML. So it is relevant. No doubt the bosses will be happy to have a few hundred K to spend on a striker who will get half Rasiaks wages.
  14. because its much cheaper for company car tax?
  15. our attendances are on the up compared to last season. ( EG sub 19000 for Brum ist game). If we get some results and performances we will get excellent turnouts.
  16. Bit disappointing to not win at home, but it was a whole lot better than swindon. Biggest problems are that 1.we still have too many lightweight and over rated players. 2. The players really don't have much idea about a team pattern. The first few games have been a real lesson in teamwork. The three games I have seen have showed the immense value of teams playing together and gaining in confidence and awareness. The new players look the business, pretty confident that AP will get it right, but a few wins soon would be nice!
  17. How anyone can have a go at the fans is beyond me. The team put in a really feeble effort, and AP did nothing at all to change a dreadful situation. He may have had very good reasons for doing so(like having a good look at the system he was using), but when your team is being played off the park by a mid table L1 team, calling for one of your TWO Polish internationals to get out on the park is hardly a crime, is it?? Also, the fans stayed with the team pretty well considering the ineptitude of the performance.
  18. reckon they kept that news back in case of a bad night at Swindon. If so, it worked well!!
  19. anyone else heard a rumour about Jackson from Colchester?
  20. Administration might not be too bad for the skates. Anyone buying them up will at least inherit a PL income, and they would shed a mountain of debt.
  21. Is Holmes injured?Must surely be our "best " winger, (though Jake will be one day I think).
  22. One problem is that we really don't have one midfielder who is likely to win their personal battle. They are a second rate lot indeed. We could probably get away with any two of them if we had one class winger and someone of substance in the middle.MS may have class, but they game just passes him by. Until the MF is drastically improved we will fail to pick up points.
  23. 5-1 v qpr. but we do have an awful record.
  24. a better turnout than for brum on ist day last season. We need to stick with them while we rebuild.
  25. Unless they are completely daft, the new regime know that its unlikely that we will get out of L1 this years, with -10 and a mediocre squad as of now. Therefore cautious team building makes sense, to give us the best possible chance next season, and possibly a stab at it this season. As others have pointed out, they are also building top down-Pardew may not be everybodies favourite, but he counts as a really big name in L1. FF is right that we are now subject to the whim of an owner- something that the fans would do well to contemplate .
