i am as frustrated as anybody when Guly has his bad moments. but his goals regularly win us games, and if NA thinks he is good enough to start every week, well that is good enough for me. thought we were excellent against a good, tough to break down, palace side.Thought this might be a frustrating one today, but a fully deserved win. top of the league after half the season, and playing great football. In my time, over 40 years watching, we have never had results or a league position like this. Happy days.

played it loads as a kid. There was always some piece of kit you wanted, but as long as you had the basics there was a game to be played. Used to love things like the "world cup" goals etc. things they also had: goalies with springs in the stick ! no improvement on the basic. apart from football there were cricket.... pretty good fun Rugby. Bit pointless. five a side football. also good fun, but not a replacement for the 11 a side. i also remember the Wembley board game. That was certainly useful for whiling away a cold winters evening.not a bad game at all. To be fair, back in the early 70's, we were pretty football starved with almost no live football on telly (Cup Final , England vScotland and the odd big England game), so almost anything football related was welcome.

dont want to get your hopes up, but there seem to be National express coaches running Monday, and looks like you could get to Southampton and back.

it compresses the game unnecessarily, gives a totally unnecessary advantage to defences, encourages teams to use the offside rule as a defence, and makes exciting attacking play more difficult. Apart from that its a great rule !!

ok. I respect your opinion.(full of xmas goodwill !!) But how does having offsides 2 yards inside the defending half make the game better?

i would like to see the 18 yard line extended out to the touchline, and only have offside in the 18 yard zone. also, I would like a sin bin, for things like deliberate fouls where a yellow isn't really enough punishment, but its not a red, EG the "cynical" foul in midfield.

bronze hospitality might still be available ........about £48 though.

its well worth looking into the circumstances surrounding Milligan's death.it has a particular relevance here, as there are suggested connections to a very well known footballer. (not that the utter idiots who have run Eastleigh for years had anything to do with it, obviously!!)

They seemed to recover pretty well !! With a quality reinforcement or two we have every chance of a fantastic second half of the season. I am very confident that we can win plenty more matches, and that our defence will improve as time goes on. Saints top of a league for 3 months, and top at Xmas. How great is it to go into games thinking about whether we will still be top, or what our lead is? Happy days.

Don't want to upset anybody, but I know that Ward is highly thought of down there, and is certainly versatile. Would he be a good transfer target ? the great bobby stokes was a paulsgrove lad so it can work...........

We are clearly a bit off our best at the moment. but for all that we played some decent football in a tough atmosphere, and were seldom in trouble. Poopey have really decent home form,based on a solid defence so a point there is really not a problem. plenty of teams could have folded after the equaliser, so got to be happy really. Still on 2 points a game after a rather poor run. Just have to pick it up over the next few games.

presumably all the players they bought were on instalments. which means that if the sell them at a loss, they will still have outstanding liabilities on them as well.

assuming your defence is solid (not certain in our case) you should ALWAYS have the best strikers you can afford. So buy the best striker we can get.

Don't know how Morgan would cope at , say, PL level, but he would walk into most teams in this division. He has been doing a very respectable job, clearly out of position, at RM. NA clearly trusts him with a variety of important jobs, and that is good enough for me. His passing really IS quality. He is not a big enough threat round the box, but he does enough to keep defenders honest. We would miss him if he wasn't there.

Thought we played really pretty well today, going forward. Really could have had 4 or 5. Defence was its usual, looked decent but conceded 1 from not too much pressure.(fair play though, managed to keep pool out of striking range for most of the game). Considering the way the day went, (awful ref, mistake by keeper, few bad misses) it was a good point, and a very well deserved one. Encouraged generally.we will win lots of games yet. Hope KD is fit soon though.............

never had a ST at SMS in the Pl. Went to the majority of matches and never failed to get a ticket. That said, I used to fax in on the morning the tickets were released,usually. Closest call was the chelsea game that sold out on the first morning.

We did try to use the rules to our advantage, (openly, and we failed). But we never traded whilst knowing we were insolvent. pompey did, which meant deliberately defrauding lots of people.Deliberately.On purpose.
