  1. well nobody CAN listen if nothing is said......
  2. There was plenty of trouble in the September 74 game at the Dell.
  3. Those who went to both were sometimes known in portsmouth as Scumpys.
  4. The Millwall boards make quite an interesting read.
  5. Don't waste my time, badger, it's never too late. But i suppose they'll just do the same thing again and again. That is what happens on the wild side of life.
  6. Chaplow is a very good Championship level player. Millwall will have one of the better midfield players in that league.
  7. You make some good points, Although for the life of me I cannot see how our fans concentrating on the opposition stops our players putting the boot in. whatever, despite what you say , (and fwiw I have a season ticket and travel from Salisbury) our support was awful. I pay my money, and If I want to pay £600 a season and sit in silence, that is my choice. I think for the first time ever (40+) years, the crowd reaction actually made me wonder if I was spending the afternoon in the right way. Not the players (who were pretty poor) but the crowd. Where I sat, it was just silent, apart from me , some idiot slagging off Fox, and about 3 lads a few rows back. Anyway, I will **** off now, Saint 86, if you want. or is it OK for you to moan about other fans and their opinions, but not OK for them to?
  8. The crowd was so quiet and negative today it was unbelievable. The most dismal atmosphere I can remember in a long , long time.
  9. Dave Watson scored a cracker when playing for Norwich at the dell. ran a long way back to make a clearing header which he bulletted into the Milton road goal, IIRC
  10. after next week, only 1 game left against a top 6 side.
  11. Pardews record signing players was impeccable, whatever else he may or may not have done.
  12. if NA had "problems" with a couple of players, as Lordswood suggests, then recent form suggests that its no bad thing! We have seriously enhanced out chances of relegation this season.
  13. Echo and the Bunnymen, Hammersmith odeon 1981. Just went through the motions. siouxsie and the banshees, both at The colston hall and the Gaumont. 1 hour. 1 song encore, no effort. poor. Most surprisingly good: The Lambrettas , in front of about 200 people at Bath Pavilion, many of whom were skinheads wanting to fight. Kept going through the chaos , in an attempt to entertain folks. I admire them still for that effort.
  14. one or two that I was at that haven't (I think ) been mentioned. Luton away in 78. huge support and a late winner...knew we would do it after that. First game in L1. Never really thought I would see that day...in at least 2 different ways ! Spurs at Home 1992. The first game in the PL. How little we knew about how the future would be for the English game.
  15. Nearest I have come was when Nigel Clough waltzed through our defence to score at the Milton Road end for Forest. He rather classily just stood there with his arms in the air. a really memorable moment.
  16. It would be really good to look at poopeys last 100 matches, check the managers comments, and get a percentage on how many times they have deserved to win but didn't. They sure are unlucky it seems.
  17. it was actually impossible(or close to it) to get to that game from some places .
  18. West Ham weren't rubbish last season. Their away form was excellent.they blew promotion with a run of nervous home performances.
  19. I was at that one, sure was crazy. SLF on the Nobody's Heroes tour was the most dangerous thing I have been to , bands wise. Bonkers.
  20. They still do odd gigs, minus Feargal. they pretty much hammer through the first two albums at breakneck speed....not quite like they were in their prime, but still well worth catching.
  21. Buddy Holly at the Gaumont. Not being born didn't help. Devo also at the Gaumont, and The Ramones at Hammersmith 1980, missed chances.....
  22. ROFL. Too many quitters! Up the Saints. We been in worse places. Roll on Saturday !
  23. Whatever anybody thinks of Cortese, things still look far better for Saints than we could have dreamed of just a couple of years ago. As for a fans "takeover " at fatpipes....yes, if it went really well we might have reason to envy....but that is an awfully long way off right now. Raising cash if your business structure isn't right is always a problem, as we found under the PLC /rupes mode. It will be a major issue for poopey.
  24. And you appear to be a mind reader. Well done. Most people I know don't like toe royals, the tradition or anything else to do with the whole nonsensical business. Chippiness? I think you mean.."ability to think for myself".
  25. no , but seriously all you cap doffers, what is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO great about that lot being head of state, come what may, however stupid , degenerate, incompetent, arrogant, and exploitive they are? I mean, have you checked out their track record ? All their lackeys in the aristocracy who stole the land at the point of a sword hundreds of years ago. They are great too, aren't they? If you can't figure out the difference between caring what the french think, and the fact that we give them so much reason to think it....well just try. They have been taking the **** for generations. So if you like heads of state who take the ****, then you have what you want.
