  1. St BATman

    20/21 Kit

2nd ‘keeper shirt is pink and on the website store already https://www.southamptonfc.com/store/2020-21-adult-goalkeeper-shirt-pink/c-1/p-2904
  2. voted for staying up. Not because of the achievement but the style in which we have achieved it. Back to back promotions was incredible but thought we could have won both leagues to be honest.
  3. Puncheon. Thought the back 5 were all solid and the 2 full backs are quickly becoming the hottest young English players in the league. The work rate of Rodriguez, particularly in the 2nd half, was immense and Lambert continues to ooze class. To think people actually try and compare him to Holt is baffling to me..
  4. to be honest I have no idea! Just believing what I read/hear. Even at £5m I think he would be cheap. Couldn't agree more with the assessment of Moran and JWP, and with Davis alongside they look a fantastic midfield trio. Given his performances so far this season I'm baffled that we didn't see more of young Ward-Prowse last year.
  5. Schneiderlin was the best player on the park. Bossed it for us in possession and kept Kagawa very quiet. Also thought JWP, Davis Lallana, Lambert and Puncheon were excellent. The midfield 3 looked very special as a trio and having Lallana that much further up the pitch made a difference. Fox worries me slightly, he plays so narrow it's scary and it really gave Valencia all the time in the world to pick a cross. Clyne on the other hand looks a steal at £2m
  6. Top article; hope he as much of an impact on us as he clearly did on Gillingham's fans
  7. Thought Safri was immense for us. Always liked McNish and Gobern as well and was convinced both were destined for a really bright future...
  8. I like both kits, especially the away one but I'm not sure that they represent the saints brand. If the whole stadium has alternating home and away kits like the promo shot it would look awesome. (Not volunteering to coordinate that)
  9. anagram of eaglesh*t
  10. Haven't read through all 25 pages; would love a summary! For what it's worth I think the following CADAJFU: Joe Lewis (still a bit error prone but great potential and he doesn't currently get much help from his defence) James Tomkins or Curtis Davies - need another CB, either good on theball (JT) or pacey (CD) Matt Phillips or Matt Jarvis - pace and trickery on the wing is definitely required Stewart Holden (if we can make sure he doesn't break any more legs) - good goal scoring CM with bags of energy 2 shouts that may be a bit unrealistic: Huddlestone (supreme passer and doesn't get much of a look in at spuds) and Agbonlahor (I think would thrive the way we play and he needs to move to stop stagnating at villa) Also Junior Hoilett and Nathaniel Clyne would be top signings. I imagine it will be none of these but I'm sure Adkins and Cortese will unearth a couple of gems from the leftfield
  11. Andy Keogh (think Adkins had him at Scunny too) Nathaniel Clyne / Kieran Lee Michael Kightly CMS Mark Beevers / Danny Shi*tu
  12. Thought he played well, some really good touches and he got into some My only complaint, yesterday was his decision making, which was, on the whole, pretty poor. I don't have too many of the moaning player haters around me but I know my friend does, to the extent we may move elsewhere next season. I don't really understand going to watch football and then just constantly berating players on the team you support...
  13. Agree the performance wasn't great but a 3-0 win in the league always has to be satisfactory. Plus it was pretty comfortable in the end. To me it just shows how much we miss Schneiderlin when you see the lack of ability to pass the ball on display, especially first half.Still think we'll make automatic, keep the faith FF
  14. what about just singing his full double barrelled name to the tune of glory glory man utd followed with 'and the saints go marching on on on!' Equally naff but better than the generic give-it-up inspired version currently being sung
  15. Lallana - best player in the league. Fonte second a fit and on form Lambert third
  16. Michael Kightly on loan from Wolves? A long shot but if Ramsay can end up at Forrest under Davies then anything's possible! Upfront a cheeky bid for Keogh (Adkins managed hm before). Has Febian Brandy got a club yet? Also thought Pugh at Bournemouth has looked pretty good
  17. Signing made my day - Google Guly and about the 3rd result is the urban dictionary definition. PMSL!! Anyway, all sounds exciting - and definitely in a position that needed strengthening - so fingers crossed. WIFM
  18. Shocked gutted and have shed a tear. His joy at Wembley and the cheer he received will always be remembered. May you rest in peace Markus Liebherr; you saved our Saints and that will NEVER be forgotten.
  19. Just back. Thought we started strongly but after the first 10-15 mins they came right back into it to the extent of being the dominant side towards the end of the half. Second half started relatively evenly but by after we scored it was comfortable enough and I was pretty confident that if there was a second goal it would be us to score. Lallana looked really good and O-C deserved his goal for not bottling the challenge with the keeper (in general he looke dlike he grew in to the game but he was in and out of the action). Dickson didn't play well. Seaborne was good in the air but dreadful on the deck, Barnard worked hard as ever. Puncheon tried too hard again with too much not coming off, but was involved in several of our good moments. Butterfield was shakier than Saturday, but that may have been to do with their number 7 (Pugh) looking like a real live-wire. Fonte was calm as ever and Wotton played far above his usual standard. Hammond improved from the weekend and it was nice to see Lambert get 10 mins, made the long balls look much more thought out!
  20. wasin Kinsland corner today and the noise in the second half was great - especially leading to Lallanas very well taken goal! However, me and my mate both said 'nice to have a good long session of OWTS, ca't remember the last time we did that'. Thought the boos at the end of the first game were disgraceful. We're a good side with a manager who's pedigree is way above this league and 14 months ago we may not have had a club to support. Time to get St Marys rocking every game and turn it into a fortress! (just my thoughts, haven't heard the post match comments yet. Also good to see Lallana looking really sharp for the second game in a row and delighted for O-C to get his goal!)
  21. Thought we should have been out of site by half time. The balls into the box first half were fantastic. Defending for the goal was SHOCKING and Harding and Jaidi never recovered from it. I have doubts about Jaidi, yeah he's a brute but he gets caught out too often and hoofs every single time. All in all thought we edged the game but if we had taken our first half chances I think it could have ended up being 3 or 4. However the number of hopeful chips down the channels was hugely frustrating, at least when Lallana came on we had some creativity and flair around the box. We look much better when we get it down and play!! We could do with some pace (wither wide or up front), a new CM as Hammond worries me and possibly a CB, although I reckon Martin and Seaborne can do a goo job in this league.
  22. looks like Andy Keogh may be available from Wolves. Very unlikely I know but HCDefDAJFU
  23. OK... To be fair, I said MOST points are minor: The lack of instalment plan very nearly stopped me and several friends renewing our STs, we were lucky enough to get around it but I agree that this is not a minor issue if it has prevented you renewing. In fact it is about as major as you can get. If the car parking has doubled perhaps it will encourage people to car share, use park and rides, or public transport which will help reduce their costs and environmental impact. A minor pain but not difficult to work around surely? (I don't use the car parking but I know people that do and none have them have moaned to me...) The 2 game pre-season tour / training camp was always likely to be around these dates, most places I have worked would have let me provisionally book some time off with flexibility in it. Agreed it is late notice but I reckon flights and accommodation will be pretty easy to sort out - may even work out cheaper on a last minute deal? Maybe the club didn't want to release details until everything was firmed up? After all, if they drip fed bits of information I'm sure some people would only think that would be a highly unprofessional way to release information? (no-win situation to me there...) My point is this: NC is still new at running a football club. He is learning his trade. Sure, like almost all highly successful business men, he can come across extremely arrogant - does this make him the devil? No. Does this mean he is deliberately trying to alienate the fan base (by far his largest stakeholder group)? No. Is he trying to erase the history of the club? No. Is he an expert in PR? No! I am willing to give the guy a chance though, after all, he has done a lot of good in terms of improving the infrastructure of the club from staff to facilities and most importantly on the pitch. I am able to see things from other people points of view. I tried to construct a sensible reply, hopefully this gives you the balance of my opinion. Just because it is not the same as your vitriolic drum bashing doesn't make it wrong. Maybe you should take heed to your own exasperations around looking at things from other people perspectives?
  24. True. But if like me you don't come on here all the time and then when you do all you see are threads bashing Cortese for trying to run the club the way he sees as best it gets a bit much. At the end of last season every Saints fan I know was on the crest of a wave. I'm pretty sure all of them still are, yet reading this forum you would think the devil incarnate was running our club and trying to turn it into a business that hates it's own customers. It's madness!!! He (NC) is learning his trade still, we have PLENTY to be positive about, why focus on the negatives (most of which are pretty minor in the grand scheme of things...)
