JPT Final - match thread for those that couldnt go :-(
GeckoSaint replied to sfcuk fan's topic in The Saints
Today is the reward for all the ****e we've had to put up with over the last couple of years. Will enjoy tonight with a few cold ones - Cheers Markus! -
If anyone doesn't have Setanta in Oz, here a link to the venue finder: http://www.setanta.com/au/Our-Venues/Venue-Finder/ I will be sourcing myself a venue here in the Gold Coast, any recommendations?

These are all the crests/badges I've come across kicking around online:

Apologies, have been moving stuff around on my site. Voila:
-
Things probably have already been sorted, but there's no harm in having a play around with some designs.

Am still here. On here pretty much everyday I've joined a network of freelance designers: http://www.designbychief.com Yes I've shifted off to Oz (Gold Coast to be exact) but am still very passionate about my Saints. If there is a thread about kit - I must get involved :-) For me if we're celebrating 125 years it has to be the original shirt from 1885, as much as I love the Keegan Patrick kit. So here are my first efforts: Thought we could have the sash but incorporate some stripes. Cheers

I reckon you could also add Mikael Nilsson, Andreas Jakobsson & Tommy Hajto to this list. I used to rate Jermaine & Pele in the middle of the park. But those 2 come nowhere near the current midfield combo of Hammond & Schneiderlin. At least Waigo has had a positive start to his Saints career - Over hyped possibly.

Highlights now up online (UK only): http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_div_2/default.stm Note Saints are right at the end - 10 mins & secs in

Looks like Saints are going to Farnborough again on Monday 27th July : http://www.farnboroughfc.co.uk/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=271:saints-coming-to-cherrywood-again&catid=1:latest&Itemid=196 They beaten Brentford already this preseason. Interesting how Saints do.

Wow a thread about on field matters!! If that team rolls up against Millwall I'll be very happy (but can't see it myself)
-
Rob Green has rejected 2 new contract offers from West Ham, so there's no doubt Zola will be looking for a new keeper over the summer.
-
Interestingly, Pinnacle are now allowed to publish articles on the OS. We must be getting closer!

Lovely kit!! Flybe will not shrink their logo to fit the design of the kit as demonstrated on last year home kit. -

Saints are due a new away shirt this coming season & judging by history it's either gonna be yellow or blue. Personally I'd like to see: or -

I've done hundreds of Saints crest designs over the years, but never really been 100% happy with any of them cos they're not the image I associate with the club I've grown up with over the years. Saying that it's easier doing it for other clubs as I've just done the new crest for Plymouth: Evolution rather revolution. It's not my favourite versions that was presented to the PAFC board but that's the version they signed off. Our crest is unique (well until the new QPR crest appeared) which I like, but also understand you can't stand still. Saints should definitely to something special to celebrate 125 years, so maybe it's time for an update but not complete change. -
We should get Man Utd back down here again - that'll fill the stadium?!
-
A Chelsea XI, Brentford & Swansea are off to Farnborough for preseason.

Since we're playing Pimp My Marketing Agency, Winchester based Cuda Design previously worked with Saints from the 2005 relegation up until the 2007 March Madness, creating the Be In That Number campaign. After 2 successful years at Saints we've gone on to work with numerous football & rugby clubs: Cuda Sports Review: http://view.vcab.com/showvcab.aspx?count=11/05/2009%2011:17:34-6&vcabid=crcSpjgrSegcjn Yes a shameful plug, but we are here to help.

Derby are currently top of the form table and will be a difficult nut to crack. Spoke to my Derby supporting mates and they reckon they'll be coming down looking for 3 points rather than 1. That bodes well for us cos as stated previously we really to struggle breaking teams down - which makes you think how good Man Utd are at the moment as they face that scenario every match and still come out comfortable winners.
-
Way too logical, will never happen.
-
...and I was being realistic on results. Was quite surprised to see how the table ended up as I still think it will go down to the last day. Also interesting to see Reading top considering their patchy form.

It's got to be Euell for me. He stuck around and fought for his place in the side. Rasiak could have taken a pay cut and stayed but he chose to shifty off to one of ours rivals...
-
I couldn't believe it when he signed for Colchester. He's a lot better than James - sorry Lloydie.

That threat has also been used in my household. I got into Saints/footie around 86, so you could pretty much describe me as a glory hunter!!
