  1. Be glad to have him available in the squad. Very decent option. I'm surprised at the the majority opinion that he has no worthwhile future with Saints.
  2. This ! Kicked and wrestled every minute of every match, and yet he just keeps going. We need to get right behind him to get him through to the end this season. Pelle is the foundation for so many of the attacks, and is always a way out if the defence need to pump the ball long when the team is under pressure. Forget his goal tally, it's the space and time he creates for others that is important.
  3. We are London based so enjoyed the opportunity to sit down and relax a bit as the crowds dispersed, rather than the usual jog over the Itchen Bridge before belting up the motorway to get home. This match reminded me so much of the Millwall match during our promotion year when we won it at the death after it really looked as though we wouldn't score if we played all night. I'm starting to believe we can do this, Europe here we come. Pelle was kicked around all match and has been for weeks now. OK he isn't playing great, but I expect he thought he was hired to play football whereas he ends up every week in a wrestling match - just support him. He allows the rest of the team time to play.
  4. Talk about delusion! What happened to the humble, yet intelligent, and astute, MoPo we knew ? I'm left thinking that the interpreter we used was the true superstar, and probably deserves a statue next to Ted.

    Long injured

Looking at he picture, at least it looks like Shane has taken something along to read whilst in hospital
  6. Perfect situation to keep Jay I would have thought. By the time he is close to the team we will have loads of options so that he can be eased back in slowly. He's been great for us, and if he wants to stay, we need to do everything we can to keep him. Particularly if we are serious about Europe next season - no point getting there and not being able to compete (like Liverhampton).
  7. MoPo + Interpreter = Intelligent and Astute Champions League Level Manager MoPo + Harry Kane = Spuds wait until they are mid table next season before deciding they need better than Europa League for the 3rd season running MoPo - Harry Kane = Middle of the road import not up to the levels needed for a Spuds manager

    Pellè

Runs all match long and is always a way out when we are forced to hit it long from defence. OK he misses loads, but you never see him hiding if it is 'one of those games'. Would love to see him and Seager up front against Ipswich.
  9. Can't think of a better central defender, a real bonus for us this season. The team need 4th spot this season to keep him and Morgan.

    Mane

Think he shows tons of potential personally, he scares most oppositions who know they will struggle against his pace. Rubbish game last night, when most things he tried went wrong. But so what, he kept going and defended well from the front to take the pressure off when the ball was lost (OK, much of the time by himself). Lucky to not get sent off late in the second half by the Itchen Corner, especially with Rooney asking the ref for the red card. Hope he comes good, and think he will, the same way as Pelle eventually did @ Millwall.
  11. Decent match....what was it with WWII going on in the background to the stream. Seager looks a handfull
  12. Revealing interview. Pelle seems the antithesis of Oswaldo in terms of personality.
  13. My MoM today, although looking through the goals on reflection I probably got that wrong, Dusin was unbelievable. Anyhow back to Clyne. He had a great match and I think the call up to the last England squad will be the turning point that takes him to a better level. Seems like he had extra belief today and I would imagine one of the coaches has had a bit of a heart to heart and been pretty clear about what he needs to do break into the England team. What a pair of full backs we have!

  18. Surprised when the booing started against Chambers at the Emirates as I had never really heard any story about him pushing for a move. But then Chambers started messing up, and as a crowd I think we 'smelt blood' and went for it. Sorry to admit that destroying a player like this during a game helps make a game for me.
  19. Total agreement about VW, he wouldn't look out of place in any team in the Premier league. But personally I think Steven Davis makes the team tick, and basically joins the pieces together for Saints at the moment.

    Pelle

Just caught up with Goals on Sunday and see loads of comment that Pelle's ball for the second was lucky. From Block 5 I swear he saw Tadic clear on the left and knew exactly what he was doing and there was no fluke about it at all. My only surprise at that the time was the flag staying down, but that looks entirely correct after seeing the replays.
  21. Think I'll donate a second time in thanks to Franny for increasing the my overall 'feel good factor' about Saints. Just as much, for me, as the signings of Tadic, Gardos, bloke I can't spell, and Mane, etc. Things like this make you proud to be a Saint. Can't wait for Saturday and the biggest cheer of the day being at half time. Hope the Geordies know what is going on, they are always a pretty generous bunch.
  22. If Franny diverts via Blackburn and kicks John Bailey I'll donate another £20
  23. Great window for us, thoroughly looking forward to this season now. Just hope that we still see a couple from Academy come through, I'd love to see Reed and Rowe get a few games - trouble is the competition for places now makes this unlikely. It will be really interesting to see how our two Centre Backs get on at Swindon - is this now the new route to our first team.

    Yoshida

Decent option as CB. I'd say a mixture of 8/10 solid, 1/10 calamity, and argue 1/10 he can be brilliant. There was a couple of interceptions that he made yesterday that were stunning and showed how well he can read the game. Seems to me that he is a 26 year old that still plays like a 22 year old at times. The key thing is he is an intelligent player and still getting better.

    Ryan Bertrand

Agree with this. Think he will be with us long term as he at the age where he needs a settled career move after never quite making it at Chelsea.
