  1. If Rodgers survives this summer I'll be surprised. He's spent a fortune and won NOTHING, and risks finishing below a team whose spine he bought - and slagged off in the process.
  2. Clarke has had ample time and resources to turn that club around and hasn't. Reading fans are a strange bunch so quite why you'll respect their opinion and talk down a manager that did nothing but good for us is beyond me.
  3. Has the word 'meltdown' ever been properly used by a newspaper, aside from say the Chernobyl disaster?
  4. Vardy is worth a go - seems to me you don't have to be much cop to play for England these days, at least outside tournaments, because of the opposition we face. When you're up against teams like Andorra and Estonia do you need a team full of Galacticos?
  5. He has a few friends at Fulham so I wouldn't be surprised to see him take that job if Kit Symons goes.
  6. Think he'll be back in work soon. Has been a guest of a number of clubs recently.
  7. There are the odd surprise results on the final day, fingers crossed we get one at the Etihad next week.
  8. Apologies Mr. Codger, I didn't mean to implicate you
  9. I've seen him twice, saw his first gig at the Royal Albert Hall since his legendary performance in the 60s. Its great to be able to say you've seen him but unfortunately performance-wise you really do have to question whether or not it's worth it. You can barely make out what he's saying and, even as a really big fan, I struggled to understand what he and his band were playing. Without wishing to make this a very negative reply, the Guildhall in my experience isn't a great venue either, so it might not be the great evening you expect!
  10. My thoughts exactly. Their first ever double over Liverpool and it didn't even merit a mention. Bolasie tore them apart, can see him going to a club higher up the food chain soon.
  11. It's a stupid old codger in the Kingsland who has been the bane of my existence for three years but no longer - I'm moving away from him. I've never known anything like it. Fair enough. I have to say I found 'Dr. Barry Gale' mildly amusing and nothing more. It's a win for the communications team though, they'll be dead pleased to see the coverage their work has been getting.
  12. Liverpool at the best of times is nauseating. This is positively stomach turning.
  13. I see - I'm yet to experience the joys of BT Sport as they've managed to f*ck up my order. I have to say I felt the abuse James got was a bit much but then again he should have expected it to be a bit hostile. I've got a bloke behind me who was complaining at 5 - 0 up, give that kind of person an excuse to have a go at someone and he won't turn it down...
  14. And yet no ex-Saint to represent the home team. There's logic for you.
  15. I have never understood coverage from the sidelines. It's just asking for trouble. I can remember ITV doing it and I wasn't able to hear a word they were saying, although given Adrian Chiles was presenting it was a blessing in disguise. Today underlined it though. It's a nice background but not worth the trouble.
  16. Gutted. I wanted to take my old man to see him. The Thrill Is Gone is a superb track.
  17. Depends on your definition of 'classic'...
  18. I think there's a degree of truth in what he's saying. Jeremy Vine's role wasn't great on election night, and anything that could be said in simple terms had to be over-illustrated and rammed down our throats. It was telling that the man who came up with the swingometer said that he didn't like it anymore. I thought the best bit about the whole evening of coverage on the BBC was John Curtice, and all he did was stand and talk. He didn't use hyperbole, he was rational, and he put things in simple terms. Best of all though he was right, and he didn't have to be sat at a desk, partially obscured by a laptop or waving his hands at blue screen.
  19. They've appointed Cook. How long are they going to give him then?
  20. The blue few have presented a shirt to the Royal Naval Museum. In years to come visitors will ask "who were 'Portsmouth FC?'". Museum guides will reply "They were a football club, the bestest football club there ever was, but now they are no more."
  21. Definitely!
  22. A friend of mine said when he had one bit cut he could feel it in his nipple which sounds equally nasty.
  23. This may not necessarily be useful but I have had it described to me that the procedure feels like your stomach being pulled out through your arse, which doesn't sound very nice.
