[Joke about shooting whilst offside here]

Good gig. Highlights were undoubtedly Wish You Were Here, Money (first time he's played it as a solo artist), Us and Them, High Hopes, Astronomy Domine, Shine On, Fat Old Sun, Sorrow, Run Like Hell, Time, and Comfortably Numb. It was really, really good. I had a perfect view and the light show, as you would expect, was superb - it was amazingly bright in places, the band even wore sunglasses during Run Like Hell, it certainly wasn't epileptic-friendly. My eyes were still sore this morning, to give you some idea. Richard Wright was missed in places, there were bits that just weren't as good as he would do it, and indeed it didn't feel as tight as a whole in places as you would expect. There were a number of times where David went to change from one instrument to another, and the band had to improvise as he did it because he took a few seconds too long. Couple of solos weren't quite there, particularly On an Island, which is a great song, but it was the first gig of the tour so I suppose it's early days. How can I complain though? I essentially saw the 1994 Floyd. Guy Pratt has lost most of his hair I noticed, and **** Parry wasn't there - Gilmour said he 'wasn't feeling up to it', so I wonder what his health is like these days. The new album? Aside from the title track, I wouldn't rush to buy it. It was supposed to be out by now, and he said it was 'some sort of **** up' that had prevented it from being released by the time of the gig yesterday.

Hallowed be thy plane.

I think clubs have been wise to him for a while. A friend of mine was once a Press Officer for Spurs. When they sold Berbatov on the last day of the window a few years ago, Levy knew they were in trouble and needed a striker. He put in a £20m bid for a striker that Juande Ramos said he quite liked. It got turned down, being the last minute it was hardly surprising. Levy upped it to £25m. It was Carlton Cole. £25m for Carlton Cole. Insane.
-
Indeed. I remember reading a piece by a journalist whose name I forget which basically said that clubs cannot be bothered to deal with Levy anymore, it's just too much hard work. Harry Kane was a player United were definitely interested in but they didn't want to go through him. But then again, given United's negotiating skills of late, it would never have happened anyway. It's probably different at West Brom though as Jeremy Peace is actively trying to sell the club and it looks as if they might have a tough old season. It's harder to shift a Championship club than a Premier League club, one would imagine. You can't reinvest £23m in the dying seconds of the window.

Sorted it for you. 'Think' probably isn't even necessary.

Cheers, bye.

Always nice to hear that we're looking at promising young, homegrown players. Welcome Harry. Sorry about the mongs on social media.

Wanyama Transfer Rumours - Summer 2015 Edition

We're less than ten games in. How do you know those sides are going to be our rivals for those places, or that Norwich are relegation fodder and United title contenders? -

Modern 'journalism' at work. Stick a few ads on it, make sure it's shareable via social media, and call it a story. -
This thread has gone awfully quiet...

This is basically Schneiderlin 2.0. He'll be gone next summer. -
He lives in the former residence of Camilla Parker-Bowles, possibly near Salisbury? Shall do - that really is a shame, going on your username you must be pretty close! Don't waste your time trying to get a ticket off a tout or online, you need ID with you when you attend.
-
Point out to me where I said we should or should not beat them. I said they were a very good team and a tough draw.

Will have to stop you there - the official line on this forum is that talkSPORT is bad. -
Yes that's fair enough, I completely take your point there. Indeed, and it's a shame we've not signed an attacking player. Oh apart from Juanmi.
-
Juanmi, a striker, isn't an attacking player?
-
It's funny how everyone was happy with our summer business until we lost the other night. I seem to recall great excitement about Clasie, and positivity with both Soares and Juanmi. The only negative was around Martina which was perhaps harsh given I suspect 99% of users on this forum had never seen him play. But then again 99% of users on this forum don't know what they're talking about, and have reacted in typical fashion to what is a slow start to the season - and that is all it is. A win tomorrow and the facts that we're out of Europe - at the hands of a very good team, the Danish champions, a tough draw to begin with - and that we've not played well recently will all be forgotten.

I seem to recall that he was definitely being eyed up by Arsenal at one point. That went away quite quickly. Chances are that this will as well. -
I'm not sure that's quite true - our buying power has improved significantly. Lowe wouldn't sanction signing Malbranque and Saha from Fulham because it would be putting money into the pockets of our rivals, and instead we were lumped with the likes of Mikael Nilsson.
-
Slagging off how exactly? Where did he do that? I didn't read 'Southampton are a bad club' or words to that effect, perhaps you can highlight where that was said or even implied? Think it's also a bit harsh to say he's fat as well. Wouldn't be you slagging him off would it?

You can't say positive things about an Alex Crook article on this forum - you need to follow the party line. Who are his sources? Why is he credible? Questions put to me by our resident spreadsheet keeper last time I dared to do so...

But they showed great character, which Brendan loves.
