Blimey, it's been in there nine years!
-
Just to double check my understanding of the word 'provincial', I've looked it up: "Of or concerning the regions outside the capital city of a country, esp. when regarded as unsophisticated or narrow-minded" Narrow-minded and unsophisticated? Yeah sure, that sounds like Derby and Portsmouth.
-
It's turning into a right old saga!
-
An interesting headline elsewhere on the Snooze's website - "Call for cannabis legalisation at Portsmouth event". Said event being the next fixture at Fratton Park perhaps?
-
Sure it wasn't a reference to the bad pitch and not being able to see the very fine lines the groundsmen had painted?
-
Put a quid on Southend today, thanks lads!

There's a lot of angst on here. Given that we're third in the top flight, you can't ever see a time when there won't be any.
-
He's got a lot of abuse which I don't agree with - however, he is so bad I would rather not watch. I love football, so that's saying something. Fact is there are very few decent commentators and pundits anymore. Quite what people see in Conor McNamara (who always pronounces Pochettino as Pochettini), Clarke Carlisle, Sam Matterface, Bill Leslie, Kevin Kilbane (not outrageously bad but there must be better) and Ian Wright (gobsh*te) for example, I don't know.

Can't see them in the Cup fixtures, where are they? Oh.
-
For the most forgetful fans in the world, why not? "Debt? What's that then? All other games against Southampton in which we lost or drew? When where they then?"
-
Exactly what I was thinking. But hey there have been some dire England games over the last few years, Chiles on mute is marginally better than spending all that cash to go to such matches...
-
I see little comfort in that...!
-
Doesn't change much though, ITV are still a shockingly bad channel for football presentation.

Just when you thought it couldn't get any better. The BESTEST training facilities in the world... http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/30938736?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter Portsmouth midfielder James Dunne says he has been frustrated after the club's waterlogged pitches meant he had to train in the gym. Dunne, 25, had knee surgery earlier this season and cannot train on the 3G surface with the rest of the squad. Team-mates Jack Whatmough, Adam Webster and Andy Barcham are also banned from using the artificial surface because of similar injury concerns. "You want to be with the rest of the boys," he told BBC Radio Solent. "We did some boxing on Tuesday, which was good fun, but it's better to be with the team. "Nobody can help it but because the training pitch is waterlogged, some of us aren't able to train all week. We train once or twice and the rest of the time I'm in the gym. "I've done my knee and for precaution, with the twisting and turning, we're not using the 3G so we don't make it worse."

I'd still like to know why their attendance at that Wigan game was so p*ss poor for a massive club with lots of history.
-
Bit harsh, he was very good at Championship level.

Only the blue few would get their biggest break by having a firm deeply in the mire due to financial irregularities come up with a project...

Last I heard, NFL had an awful lot of money in it, so not appropriate here.
-
Could be worse. Near enough every week on 606 I hear a text or a caller say that no one pays attention to 'little old Bournemouth'.
-
God I hate NFL. Please don't bring it here. This is a holy place of skate-bashing.

Nigel Adkins - second anniversary of his sacking
Crazy Diamond replied to Badger's topic in The Saints
The full story of Nigel's departure will come out some day. He was very friendly with the press pack. He was a fantastic manager for us and I hope he finds a new job soon. -
And this is indicative of how great a player he was for us - I can't think of anyone that does hold it against him.
-
Lambert, no doubt for me. When we were taken over I remember thinking he would be an absolute dream signing. We needed a proven goalscorer, and he was the name everyone wanted. We got him. It just seemed to take off from there.

It's almost surreal. Some of us are worried about Arsenal closing the gap on us in the chase for a Champions League place, others are hoping we can go for runners-up spot in the league. Doesn't seem so long ago we were going on about Wycombe's terrible pitch after a 0 - 0 draw, or bemoaning Papa Waigo's inability to stay onside.
