  1. Watched the game as well and Zambia were utter ****, Ethiopia missed a pen and played decent football, Zambia seemed to think they could just turn up and win. Reckon Emmanuel will start next game as Colin's Mpsumpa only started based on his performance v Norway last week which was excellent but he was utter **** today. Emmanuel is too fast and already plays in the 1-4-2-1-3 for formation. Would also say Ethiopia had their goalie sent off in 39th min for a Willie Schumacher Kung fu kick, it brought back good memories :-)
  2. He never had an ego as a player so doubt he has one now. He's again a fan so gets passionate, the worst thing we want incharge of us is a fan, we want a person who can control their inner monkey (chimp paradox) that ain't gonna be a saints fan
  3. Hahahhaa fair play but I reckon fergie would give his left bollock for a Roy Keane now in his ****ty midfield. Am gonna watch the game tonight in a small mining town in the kalahari is this a record ?
  4. It's not often I can reference Zambia but they feel the same way about us as we do about cortese. Go on their forums they slag off this forum for not understanding mayuaka, him being better than our team, our fans being ****s etc, the reason they do this is they grow up aligning themselves to Emmanuel's success and negative comments make them react cos they are passionate. Cortese never grew up being passionate about saints, he sold his friend a dream, his friend bought it and he's doing his upmost to deliver it, he's dispassionate and runs the club that way. Last time we had a fan in charge we had Wilde and Crouch, maybe fans should realize we should just support and let business run the club as we don't know best as we are morally corrupt cos we are fans ?
  5. Hate to say it but anyone who says we shouldn't sell Ricky at the end of year is missing the point. The highest value we will ever achieve for a +30yr old player will be this season. He will be worked out 2nd season and his game does not fit how we need to play and his value will decline. No player is bigger than Southampton and with Jay and Mayauka we have 2 pacey forwards we can rotate when one is off form and they can improve as they are young, something Ricky isn't. He will be a legend but all clubs get rid of legends just think Roy Keane for 1
  6. Yeah it's getting panned here, tickets too expensive for most locals and there is no vibe. Will watch Emmanuel tomorrow as I will support Zambia but not sure who will win, maybe it's IC's turn finally. Also it's ****ing it down here and forecast for more rain tomorrow, English weather.
  7. Sorry I've lost track of all the links and I can't remember if I found this or it was a link launched from here, more on his espanyol days http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/blog/2011/jan/17/espanyol-la-liga-sid-lowe
  8. Another disciple of Biesla having played under him in argentina, it should be interesting to see how the tactics translate into the premier league, for those who want to read more on the actual tactics check here out http://www.worldsoccer.com/features/tactics-the-genius-of-el-loco. "Bielsa wants the ball to be won high up the pitch and so advocates intense pressing; speaking, as Arrigo Sacchi did, of there being an ideal 25 metres between centre-forward and centre-back. He recognises the importance of the rapid movement of the ball from front to back to catch opponents off balance, but he also sees the value in retaining possession, which is what differentiates him from, say, Egil Olsen, a coach who always prioritises position on the field over possession."
  9. Unfortunately it's about Forren although I whish it was Foggen as I had a song already made for Newcastle. "Foggen the Tyne is all mine all mine, Foggen on the Tyne is all" repeat I'll get my coat
  10. Do a bush and beach break in Tazania, fly into Dar el Salam then do a safari for a few days then hit up either Zanzibar or Pemba (my fav) for awesome sea and beachfront.
  11. Inspired by the thread title this made me **** myself yesterday, not literally of course, this student gets enough respect. "A German student "mooned" a group of Hell's Angels and hurled a puppy at them before escaping on a stolen bulldozer" http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/10333211
  12. Mali and Somalia per chance
  13. They can watch my ballz
  14. For ****s sake don't they do a temperature test before refitting subs !!! well those 3 are gonna have a long hard deployment hahaha
  15. Good point but I will follow his progress through the afcon to see exactly how he plays as Zambia look like they set up to feed him as a the lone striker.
  16. Just watched Mayuaka in Zambia v Norway warm up for the african nations and he looked very very rusty so don't think we would miss too much today, is to be expected though. He came off after 45mins but Zambia held them to 0-0 which wasn't too bad considering Norway beat South Africa 1-0 last week.
  17. hahahaha fairplay
  18. Another positive tweet 24mins ago - Armorel ‏@armorel_x just did a tour of st Mary's and tour guide said in the press room "I won't say much more but you'll see this room in use soon" #saintsfc
  19. Boruc, Clyne, Yoshida, Hooiveld, Shaw, Puncheon, Schneiderlin, Cork, Ramírez, Lambert, Rodriguez.
  20. Have to say if we can't find space for our 12mil man then we are truly ****ed, Serie A is a league of brutes so would prefer him than punch regardless of form we have to have faith in our investment otherwise which genius sanctioned the investment.
  21. Hmmmm not feeling too confident with that team, whose filling in at right back, where's gaston ? How will JRod and Guly work and do you have to be over 6ft to get into todays team? Just as a random aside i will be aiming to watch this online from a nice lodge outside Vic Falls with all inclusive booze so enjoy the cold as its 34c today :-)
  22. Quite an interesting comment by one of the Zambians about how Mayuka plays and how he could improve, looks like inside left forward is the go. "Here is some advice for Mayuka if he reads this space. After watching some comes from the bench games that he played, I noticed that he is a far much better player when playing on the left wing than right because he can easily cut into space and shoot with his right foot. A good example is the Ghana game at AFCON.I have not seen him use his left foot so nothing much I can say about that. Unfortunately,he won’t play the left wing at SOTO as long as Riki Lambert is as effective as he is. So the only option Adkins has if he is ever to select you is play you on the right wing. You did well in the games you played in terms of showing desire aggression, and speed on the ball keeping the left backs on their toes and stopping them from overlapping. But you have to go a step further with that to bring that “IT” factor Adkins is looking for. There were some issues I noticed which I think are the reasons you have gone to the bottom of the bench list and I will point them out for you here. First issue i noticed is you play a lot with your back on the goal when played on the right wing. This could be a case of adjusting to playing in that position. But your adjustment has to be fast because EPL defenders are quick and with your back to the goal you have no chance to see them coming. Secondly, it also seems that you have not fully understood your role as a right winger because it appears as though your main objective when you received the ball is to try and turn and drive toward the center forward position which has not been the best use of the ball as that created congestion forcing Lalana to slightly pull back and take him out of position. Rather, you should be hugging that line, watch some George Weah videos, and wiping a cross to create chances for your center forwards. You have had more game time than Mbesuma had at at Portsmouth. If you are to succeed at SOTO, you have to realize that there is a pecking order and your job for the meantime is to create space and provide goal scoring opportunities for Riki and Lalana. Let them take the heat for not scoring and that will take the pressure off of you from being the man trying to score the goals to being the man creating the space and opportunities for Riki and Lalana which I think comes natural to you because you are a smart player. Now when you look at Jason Puncheon, when he plays the right wing, he hugs that line almost to the corner flag stretching the defense enough to create space for the center forwards when he finally wips in that cross or cuts back. That is the only difference that has made him more effective and as a result a regular. His job when he gets that ball on the wings is to stretch the defense, cut back or wip in a cross in search of Riki or Lalana. That is what you should be doing and do it better. So in a nutshell here is some tips. if you are going to play with your back to the goal, when you get the ball on the right wing, pivot/turn with your left foot planted to the ground toward the lines man, race toward the corner flag and the objective from that point is to cross the ball in search of Rikki or Lalana and make that cross a good one. This run opens up a plethora of options like get a cross in, force the fullback into tackling for a bookable offense and you get a throw in, free kick or corner. Which are all good options. If the fullback doesn’t drop you and you get to the corner flag and decide to cut back try to find Lalalan who would be lurking by the edge of the 18 yard box or loop high for Rikki who is good in the air. You have to realize that when you cut back, you now have to use your left foot to be effective. Practice these moves and you will be a first team player in no time."
  23. Ok last one sorry - "For stumpy and percy the two football “analysts” who say mayuka is finished can you please read that blog and see what the southampton fans are saying about mayuka. From there you will understand why mayuka is sitting on the bench at southampton. The coach Nigel Adkins who is clueless I’m sure has the same mindset as the fans because he is British. Those english people are DULL unlike the spanish and italians who heavily scout and analyse their talent. Those brits just play names. Very very dull indeed. You can see why a finished player like torres will always start."
  24. Hahahah even better - "@ sibs you should be worried about his current situation looking at what those southampton fans are thinking they have no idea who mayuka and I bet you nigel adkins doesn’t either. He keeps playing that uselsess plank J. Rodriguez. If anything mayuka should have been higher on the list its those clueless people in southampton who are finishing him mayuka can easily start for a team Like Inter Milan so what is southampton? Southamtpon is a joke of a club with useless defenders like hoived or yoshida who can’t even sit on the zambian bench. There fans are clueless going on and on about an average player like ramirez who kalaba can tame in his sleep."
  25. Just thought I'd mention the Zambian's aren't too impressed with out comments "Guys I said it mayuka is a star and people in england are ignorant. Look at the comments made by these saints fans absurd! and very hurtful they have no idea what kind of player they have. http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?41890-Guardian-s-World-s-Best-Footballers"
