If I was o'Riley and I heard that I would cancel my sky sports subscription and sue them for defamation

Beautiful posts is there a forum where midfield general and Chez just feed tactical knowledge into my veins. Sara was an alternative for Atalanta to Reily according to Italian press, maybe we should step up and ask, but I don't think based on stats last year creating chances isn't the issue it's either finishing them or defending against them.

@chez I like this a lot because I see your correct based on last year. We got overrun to easily when losing the ball in the midfield so let's brainstorm what is the answer. It sort of feels if we play 3 CBs we would try and have 2 inverted wing backs but I don't think that worked last year in the slightest. Would we play 2 strikers, 1 AM and then 2 DMs as our system or do you think Russ is sticking with wingers ? Honestly downes is great but I'm not sure anyone else adds that Vic steel in midfield to breakdown attacks, it still feels like it's our soft underbelly.

Ok some considered posts there gents thanks, both on carvalho and goalkeeping, I feel better regarding McCarthy and how we would play with him. Guess I'm a sucker for the hyperbole about him being bad at kicking but he does seem Fraser foster esq at hitting the ball at the coaches bench from a goal kick.

I am really sorry but it's like my brain is farting all my saints thoughts why you dudes work. Victor Roque, powerful, fast Brazilian who hasn't had a look in at Barca as he doesn't seem to suit their system "The Brazilian stands out for his eccentricity , bravery, physicality, effectiveness towards goal and determination. " If Brighton can loan Fati why couldn't we loan him, his profile above sounds made for premier league and his wages would be affordable Id guess.

100% this but as soon as someone they are trying to buy from do this there is outcry that they are stopping the players dream to play at anfield and get their houses robbed while they are playing away at Qarabağ in Azerbaijan on a Thursday night.

Sorry for the avalanche of posts but I've also enjoyed Chelsea having the same issues we had last year with defenders playing this system and messing up. Logic states we should be much better at this style after a year's experience the unknown is the goalkeeper, we know McCarthy couldn't kick a cat so do we revert to the 3 CBs as we did last year and cut him out completely ?

So does it look like we are trying Fabio instead of Matt ? Or god forbid we are trying to get them both. I've spent last 24hrs in airplanes but I see the Celtic plant story about Chelsea needing to purchase another attacking mid is utter bollocks, even Chelsea do not want a 6th attacking midfielder, let alone him actually wanting to go there.
-
This is incorrect, it was a clickbait headline which when read it said nothing of the sort, no quotes, no word rejection in it, just utter utter utter bollocks by shit newspaper fuckwits.

The nature of transfer windows is that higher value players we are looking for go later in the window as they are in demand by a lot of clubs similar to us. That's down to the selling clubs and/or players/agents themselves as they assess their options not the buying clubs.

One thing i can say about lumley based on his few appearances, he can kick the ball better than Macca

Completely understand Fred we were in the same position last year. We looked average to put it nicely basically for the first 10 league games in the season inc 4 straight losses and then it just clicked for something like a 27 game unbeaten run. I assume SR are asking Valenciennes to play similar brand of possession football as ourselves so this seems to take a while to get going. What is the monetary position for Valenciennes at the moment regarding the profit and sustainability rules, do you have money to spend this season if SR bankrolls it ? I would of thought the ROI on investing for players to get out of the league would be huge this season, get a few good players from the league above in key positions and some expensive attacker from somewhere as its a tested methods to get promoted across lots of lower division leagues worldwide. We've done it, Wrexham have recently done it, if you have a killer upfront it helps massively.

I currently feel again our left hand side is our weakest for defence and attack, we really need something there to play incisive passes, crosses, defending, tracking back etc. I am not seeing it with Edozie/Sulemana/Taaylor and manning etc, we will be to easy to defend against if its the Suga/KWP show down the right with Armstrong etc

Need Parsons to be speaking to celtic this morning

Well I am excited for Valenciennes season to start, i remember saints in the 3rd league and it was awesome as we were scoring lots of goals and winning a lot. I will a keen watcher for the start, it seems you will start the same weekend as us (16th you, us 17th) so plenty of tests coming up and hopefully get some spirit back into the club before the season starts v Aubagne. As an aside i saw the Versaille shirts the other day, looked really nice
