AP didn't take too kindly at the reporter questioning the wisdom of taking Barnard off. From that point onwards the reporter was getting nothing from AP.

This season has been above expectations without a doubt. A cup win and a decent effort in the league. At the start of the season, I didn't think we'd get as close as we have to the playoffs, so I'm delighted with how things have gone this season. So well done to AP and the team - let's hope we can keep the squad together as they have gelled nicely and on their day look awesome. We can have a really good go at making the top 2 next season.

I think Schneiderlin's red card has cost us - we miss him when he's not in the side. He needs to seriously work on his discipline.

That's weird as it works fine on my Android phone and on every other phone I've used before that. Just a thought - were you trying to use the pinch zoom? I know that's not supported in Opera Mini. You have to use the classic tap zoom method.
-
It doesn't get along with all websites due to the way it compresses data, but for forum browsing and posting it works a treat.

Opera Mini was just literally approved by Apple last week and so is on the app store now. Check it out as it is a decent browser - you'll especially love it when you're in a 2g area and suddenly pages load in about 20 seconds on Opera as opposed to about 7 years on Safari.

Although, I can see Charlton losing all of their remaining fixtures, and if that happens and we win all our ours, then we go ahead of Charlton and what Huddersfield do is irrelevant. Same applies if Charlton only gain one point. Of course, one win for the addicks and we kiss that hope goodbye!

If you're talking about Opera Mini, I can ban people from my Proboards forum using it, so I don't see any reason why not here. If you're talking about the thingy Baj has kindly set up, I have no idea.
-
Ok, try m.opera.com in that case. If that doesn't work, if you have an IMAP or POP3 email address setup on your E71's email client, PM me the email address and I'll email you the .jar file of versions 4 and 5 - you can try them both out and see which you prefer.
-
For anybody who wants to access this site on their mobile, but their phone isn't tapatalk compatible. Download opera mini by going to mini.opera.com on their mobile's browser. It works with most phones produced in the last 5 years or so and loads pages a lot faster than other browsers due to data compression. So it works faster and uses less data so lower mobile internet bills. Win-win imo.

I think he's done a decent job here so far. Nobody could have worked with what he had at his disposal at the beginning of the season. I know his record tailed off somewhat at Charlton, but I think the phrase 'you can't polish a turd' sums up the situation very well. Charlton were about to head into freefall, and Curbishley knew that which is why he left when he did. I don't think anybody could have prevented it to be honest. Overall, Pardew's record is very good, and he's done a decent job here for sure. Some may argue that he's spent a fair bit of money, but the important thing is whether you spend that money wisely, and I think Pardew has been excellent in this area. Lambert was an inspired signing, Hammond and Harding are both very good at this level and now Barnard has got his first goals here he's looking pretty damned good as well. Add into the mix the likes of Connolly and Fonte amongst many others, and I think it's fair to say the vast majority of his signings have been very good ones.

The thing about Rickie is that his age will count against him. He's 28 now and therefore at the peak of his career. Will another club fork out serious money for a guy approaching 30 who's untested above this division? I don't think they will. Nothing against him, obviously, as I think Rickie is a fantastic player and was a particularly inspired signing by Pardew. Just that with many clubs struggling financially, many clubs look to invest in players who they can sell on later.

Pardew is the man to take us forward. The losing mentality is gone, he's brought in some fantastic players and we are playing some decent football. Thanks Alan!
-
Let's hope so. You only have to look at SFC 2004 through 2009 and QPR since the F1 lot took over to see that a revolving door in the manager's office gets you nowhere. Also, look at the players he has brought in and the improvement we have seen under Pardew. I'm sure - and I hope - that Nicola Cortese is smart enough to understand all of this.

I must admit, I've got two saves on the go, one as Winchester and one as Montrose in the Scottish 3rd Division, and I am enjoying the Montrose one more so I will probably stick with that.
-
Yep, and they leave all the leagues you can play 'out of the box' completely untouched.
-
I thought it was noticably faster. I know you're a SI researcher so you have a passion for the FM series, but you have to admit that FM09 was pretty poor overall, especially for their standards. FM10 is a huge leap in the right direction though.
-
Well, I've just started with Winchester City, a whole 3 divisions below the Blue Square Regionals! Should take a while to get anywhere near the football league as I'm not very good!
-
I have that as well. I put it down to my CPU being below the minimum spec - it says on the box I need 2GHz with Vista, but mine is only 1.5. That said, the game runs at an acceptable speed (in fact, it runs faster than FM09 did), so SI have done a good job with FM10 in my opinion.
-
I still think the playoffs will be just out of reach this season, but would be delighted for the team to prove me wrong on that!
-
I'm impressed. Has correctly guessed: Mariah Carey Jasper Carrott Billy Connolly Slash John McClane (Die Hard) Robocop Leon S. Kennedy (Resident Evil games) Didn't guess Treguard from Knightmare though!
-
Burnley are in freefall. I don't know what the odds are, but I personally would favour a draw in betting terms.

Good to see a positive thread! It is indeed a good time to be a Saint. This has been our most exciting season for a few years for sure.

The report wasn't prepared by Pompey. It was prepared by an independent firm of accountants (Vantis), who weren't involved in the completion of previous accounts and such like, so you can be sure it wasn't glossing over anything. In fact, reports are that it confirmed what HMRC are saying, and what everybody else knows - that PCFC Ltd is insolvent.
