  1. Just thought I'd post this screenshot from the ever-reliable Wikipedia ( ), claiming that Martin O'Neill's been interviewed. I've done it as a screenshot, as I'm sure someone will edit it out of the page pretty soon.
  2. I don't think either di Matteo or Martinez would come here - di Matteo has a good job at West Brom, and despite recent results Whelan still gives Martinez his overwhelming support, if what he says in public is to believe (and he's not one to mince his words). Holloway possibly may, but I think after his experience with Leicester may well be wary of coming to a 'big club', especially with how things soured between him and Mandaric.
  3. Apparently there is. Not been to the airport in years myself, but I've been reliably informed that Phil Brown was there. Of course, as somebody else has suggested, he could just be down here because he wants to buy a boat. Either way, I'm sure there's going to be a shedload of F5'ing going on tomorrow. I would but I can't access Saintsweb on my PC at work, and I won't be able to get away with browsing on my mobile tomorrow as our area manager is coming down for the day - the bastard!
  4. LOL. The guy said Brown had flown in as well, he wasn't on his way out. Like I said it could be coincidence. But the guy who told me is a Saints ST holder and not an attention seeker so I don't doubt him.
  5. Somebody I know who works at Southampton airport has seen just Phil Brown in the Costa there. It could of course just be coincidence.
  6. All the people slagging off Adkins but creaming themselves over O'Neill should remember that O'Neill started off in the lower leagues at Wycombe before Leicester took a chance on him.
  7. I fail to see how Zola and Clarke are more experienced than Adkins. 2 seasons of mediocrity in the Premier League.
  8. Adkins has got Scunny promoted from League One twice and kept them up on a shoestring last season. That's the kind of experience we need. All IMHO of course.
  9. I still have a sneaking suspicion that it will be O'Neill, but Adkins would be a good appointment in my opinion.
  10. According to BBC radio 5 Live.

Good to see the art of constructive posting hasn't died off.

Also, Reading don't have a limited squad of 25 that Antonio has to be a part of - that rule only applies to Premier League clubs.
  13. I actually picked this up recently for £14.99, and it's excellent at that price. I always pick up the football games when they're a bit out of date (Football Manager aside) as I'm not bothered about the teams being a bit out of date. FIFA has come on leaps and bounds in the last couple of years, and having played both FIFA and Pro Evo I think FIFA is by far the better game these days. The only exception is the Become A Legend/Be A Pro modes, which seems to be more enjoyable on Pro Evo.
  14. The people just slagging Cortese off must have very short memories. He's not perfect and isn't great at PR but without his input we might have lost our club last year. I would wait and see who the new manager is before making too many judgements. And I don't think he would have sacked Pardew unless there was a very good reason for it.
  15. All I was saying is that it could explain why all of them were sacked. I'm not claiming to be ITK or saying that it definitely did happen!
  16. There have been suggestions that Pardew, Murdoch and Downes were involved in a scuffle on the training pitch, which could suggest why all of them were sacked if true.
  17. Perhaps the thing he wants to make happen is Cortese getting the new manager in. Just a thought.
  18. I don't think it's a case of Cortese's power gone to his head. He's not an idiot, and I firmly believe there must have been a bloody good reason for him to sack Pardew. Of course, we need to wait and see what happens next. We've had a shocking start, but there's plenty of time left in the season for things to come good. We do have to get a move on, but I'm sure things will be great come May. Let's be honest, when has Southampton Football Club ever done things the easy way? We'd all get bored if it was plain sailing!
  19. Poor game, poor performance. Something needs to change and pretty bloody quickly. Title favourites? We look more like relegation scrappers. The team seems to be short of fitness, organisation, ideas and desire to be frank. Terrible.
  20. So it basically is still speculation really then.
  21. Both Howe and Adkins would be potentially good appointments, Adkins especially. And the more I think about it now I've calmed down, the more I think Pardew must have done something majorly wrong behind the scenes to be sacked at such a strange timing.
  22. So how do we know for sure the top 3 have been interviewed for the job? Is it more of 'I know someone who knows someone who's related to....' or has it been confirmed by someone properly ITK?
  23. I was spotted in town. I am the new Saints manager. My qualifications? I've taken Derby County to the Champions League on Football Manager and won the FA Cup with them.
  24. I would probably wee myself. Best get the incontinence pants just in case.........
  25. Seems a wee bit harsh!
