  1. We'll, we're out of the JPT so that's buggered that one. We still have a real chance of promotion as we're only a really short way into the season. But the manager situation needs to be resolved bloody quick.
  2. http://tiny.cc/3ggxf The linked article above suggests he is staying put - dated 20.10 tonight if you look under the header. It's from the Scunny website, I've tiny url'd it so it doesn't get blocked by the swear filter.
  3. Look at the time of the article - it's dated and timed at 8.10pm tonight. This suggests that possibly talks have broken down completely. Both chairmen were always going to play hardball on the compensation, and Nigel Adkins won't risk Scunny being shafted by a tribunal. It's a shame as I think he would have been a success here. But fair play to Nigel for sticking to his principles despite the fact he clearly wanted the job here - he'll go on to bigger things one day of that I have no doubt. SFC now need to move on to the next candidate - but not Eddie Howe obviously, as that's already gone t*ts-up!
  4. What do we know about the manager situation? F*ck all.
  5. It's being heavily rumoured that Adkins has actually turned us down. He's probably read the idiotic comments on the Echo website and thought 'f**k that'. Of course, this is just rumour and could be completely wrong.
  6. I took my better half to a game against Ipswich back in 2008, which ended up in a 1-1 draw. She'd been indifferent to football before that but she loves going now. She now gets p*ssed off at me if I go without her. Both my kids are Saints supporters as well. Here's a great little story about my daughter, who's 7 (but she was 6 at the time of this). Our nephew sadly is a Pompey fan (been brainwashed by his dad unfortunately!). They'd been to the Pompey v Stoke match last season and he was talking about it and said 'unfortunately Portsmouth lost'. My sweet little 6 year old daugher, big butter wouldn't melt grin said, very loudly, 'that's because Portsmouth SUCK!'. Made me a very proud dad.
  7. The comments from some people on here have been plain stupid. With the amount of people I've seen writing the bloke off before he's even started. No wonder the Scunny fans are narked if he's coming here as a lot of what has been said has been stupid and disrespectful.
  8. Some people need to get a grip. He may not be a big name but he's proved himself to be a capable manager.
  9. I saw Alan Pardew in an opticians in Winchester today. Make of that what you will but I think he may have had an eye test.
  10. Nothing official though. Could all be rubbish still.
  11. The team taking a leak in the bogs?
  12. Fonte attempts to thwart the opposition with his karate skills and enormous testicles.
  13. It's so official, his name is wrong.
  14. Seen at SMS this evening.
  15. Knackers the Pearce theory then!
  16. Yes, it would appear that 5 Live lied to us.
  17. My take on that post in my forum is that if this guy really does work for said bookie, he doesn't believe that Martin O'Neill is our man. Otherwise, he is potentially losing his employer thousands and thousands of pounds. Unless of course he has reason to be majorly p*ssed off with his employer and he's trying to lose them money. It would seem this rollercoaster ride isn't quite finished yet.
  18. The following has just been posted by a first time poster on a Saints forum that I moderate. I did chuckle at the Southampton United bit, but make of it what you will.
  19. No thanks. He's a ****.
  20. Do you honestly think Fergie would let Giggs go? He's still an important part of their squad. I also doubt Giggs would come whilst he's still playing PL and CL football.
  21. They said it on 5 Live - that's why I started the thread. They sounded pretty sure that it would be announced today.
  22. Teen-saint could be best mates with a Winchester letting agent for all we know! I'd say wait for the announcement which is apparently due tomorrow before letting your cynicism get the better of you. If it turns out to be bo*locks, then let rip to your hearts content.
  23. Alan did a good job here, good performance in the league and a cup win. Thanks for that Alan. Best of luck with whatever comes next. And before anybody makes any snide remarks about the reasons for his sacking, we'll never know for sure the rationale behind it I expect. So without being privvy to that information, it's fairest just to give appreciation for the job he did.
  24. Current Skybet odds. Interesting that Martin O'Neill has gone down to 7/1, from 12/1 earlier.
