No, neither speak for me. The trust had a purpose once, but no more. And SISA has never been anything more than a vehicle for certain supporters to delude themselves that they are more important than they actually are. Both are now utterly pointless organisations, and you will get a far better and balanced idea on the view of Saints fans by reading this and other web forums than you ever will by listening to SISA morons.

Being born in 1981 means I wasn't around to witness that magnificent day. But my dad was in attendance and has told me all about the day and the aftermath. He also showed me his ticket for the match, which had a face value of a whopping £5!

I remember once seeing on the side of a condom machine 'dis chewing gum is bloody orrible'

I find it hilarious that his vehicle is genuinely called the popemobile.

Yep I did. As you can see I was bored!

No St Marys is not jinxed. We've simply been mismanaged and therefore things went tits up. To quote a certain Mr Adkins it's as simple as that. We're now in the process of recovering from said mismanagement.

Because most people find him irritating as hell.

Pardew was reportedly on around £500k per year.

I'm trying to work out whether you're serious or whether you're just playing along!

Why write them off before they've even begun?? Scu nthorpe did pretty bloody well for a club of their stature with Adkins and Crosby in charge. I for one am very happy we've got them here.

I agree 100% with all 4 points.

Nigel Adkins will take charge of S****horpe United's match tomorrow

I hope you're right there. If he does come here, then it would be utterly moronic to give him a hard time as soon as he walks through the door. You have to support the players and coaching staff. -

This is exactly the point I made. I just feel that if the deal was going to happen then it would have been finalised today. -
He's appeared from nowhere to skybet's third favourite at 8/1. But then Martin O'Neill was evens for a while, and I'm sure I saw Barack Obama in the listings at 3/1 at one point.

Just because he's the only one to make his interest public doesn't mean he is the only one who is interested. HTH -

I'm starting to think there's a lot more to this, call it smoke and mirrors if you like. But, if Cortese wanted Adkins that badly then I'm sure compensation discussions wouldn't have dragged on for as long as they have. We have the funds. and apparently Scunny only wanted a modest amount for him - he's only on a 12 month rolling.contract and they settled for less than £100k for Laws when Wednesday poached him, and Laws was held oin similar regard as Adkins up there. This is just a hunch on my part, but these compensation discussions could be now getting dragged on to divert attention away from another manager that Cortese is negotiating with. I don't know who that could be and I'm not going to speculate. And like I said, I'm not basing this on anything I've heard, just gut feeling. We do however know that he's spoken to other managers because of the total lack of discretion from Bournemouth's chairman. I think the twists in the whole saga aren't yet over, and my gut feeling tells me that we may be surprised when the new manager is unveiled. Of course, I could be talking out of my arse and we'll see Adkins unveiled on Monday. -
I should add, I wouldn't be happy to see him as England manager, but I think he'd be good at it. I'll always support the national team. But if I was given a choice of England as world cup winners or Saints as FA Cup winners or Premier League champions, it would be Saints every time. I wasn't born in 1976 so didn't get to see it first time round!
-
If he became England manager, I would still support England. The team is bigger than one man, and all that. I've always said I understand why he left Saints (he left Pompey because of interference, with Grant being brought in as DoF over his head and against his will, then Rupert did pretty much the same thing with SCW), but the way he went about it made him a complete c**t, and the fact he crawled back to the skates magnified this by about a million. Regardless, he'd been s**t here anyway and we were better off rid of him. So, support? Yes. Forgive? Probably not, even if he led England to become world cup winners.
-
For what it's worth, I think he'd make a good England manager. It wouldn't make him any less of a ****, mind.

I didn't read that bit! Yes, I know I'm a wally.

I get the feeling this could fall foul of the libel reminder posted by Steve Grant!
