  1. We've not folded.
  2. Rocket Man by Elton John "And I think it's gonna be a long, long time......"
  3. If the distance from the exchange is the issue, then a cable provider such as Virgin Media may be the answer for you. I've never used Virgin, so can't vouch for reliability/speeds etc, but from what I gather the cabling they use negates these kinds of issues.
  4. In fairness, the only one you got wrong was Porsche!
  5. The difference with Liverpool is they will refinance their debt. Until they can no longer service it, they are effectively solvent.
  6. Will they be paid? The new owner needs to be in place within the next few days to make sure they are. If not, we're up the swanny.
  7. I think GM has a valid point, personally. Surely with a transaction of this size, this kind of detail would have been clarified early on in the process? Maybe he could have worded it a little less confrontationally, but still the point is a valid one.
  8. They will tell us....... through the medium of DANCE!
  9. I've heard that our new owner will be TV legend Bruce Forsyth. He will employ Jimmy Tarbuck as Chairman, Ken Dodd as Director of Football and our manager will be the ghost of Elvis Presley. The players new training regime will involve marathon beer-ups and kebab eating sessions and we will ground share with Barcelona.

  11. I'm hoping to we get to thrash them in the final, personally.
  12. [pedant]They are the oldest professional club in the world. Sheffield FC is actually the oldest football club in the world.[/pedant]
  13. But Milan is in a different country, different football association and different league, and therefore goverened by entirely different rules.
  14. I'd love to see him here. Can't see him leaving Exeter, though.

    Claus

The excuses given were completely lame. He should have called a taxi. If he can afford an Audi Q7 he can afford a bloody cab. What a pillock.

What's happening with Ocean FM then? My drives to work in the morning won't be the same if Ocean goes.
  17. If there was no SFC, I would just go and watch the local non-league teams. Winchester, Basingstoke and Andover. Wouldn't be the same though, obviously! I already go to Basingstoke now and again anyway. I love the fact that not only do the teams change ends at half-time, the supporters do as well. Nearly p155ed myself laughing the first time.
  18. It is a sorry state of affairs. The hard working staff must be beside themselves with worry. They are being asked to work one more week out of goodwill, still with no guarantee that they will actually receive the salary they have earned. I know what I would be thinking in their situation, the poor sods. Could this be the beginning of the end? Will there be further sanctions from the football league for this, thus making a sale of the club more unlikely? Regardless of the club's impressive facilities, a league one team starting on -10 points isn't very attractive a proposition. An even heftier points deduction and therefore more likely further relegation makes them even less so. Oh joy.
  19. If we go into liquidation, there may be no club at all.
  20. We would be very unlikely to start as high as the Blue Square leagues. It's taken AFC Wimbledon a few years to get there.
  21. So where was it publicised that they didn't defer their wages? I know Kelvin Davis had said he'd done so, to make sure the youngsters got paid. If that's a lie then it's completely fecking shameful.
  22. To be honest that was my initial thought as well. But it was something I heard so thought it might be worth sharing. It might be that the link is so tenuous that it's hardly worth mentioning, or that it is complete balls. Just sharing something I've heard.
  23. I've heard (and before you all shoot me down in flames, I can't be sure how accurate this is, and I don't claim to be ITK). But I have heard that the Pinnacle group backed by MLT has some links to Rupert Lowe. What these links are I don't know. But apparently it is on their website. I tried to look, but there are a lot of websites for companies called Pinnacle on Google and I have no idea which is the correct one. Like I said, I don't know how accurate this is. But it does make sense. I mean, how better to win fan support, and deflect the spotlight from links to our beloved ex-chairman, than to win endorsement from our biggest modern-day legend?
