Having read the article, I'm inclined to agree. He's a nutjob, just like the other one who ran himself over. What's MP trying to achieve?
-
Why raise this subject, what's the point? MP is the Manager, not the OP, so leave it up to him.
-
I agree football needs characters - when they add to the general team spirit. But, come on, lewd acts over the internet is something entirely different. That's not being a 'character' in my opinion, that's just plain disgusting behaviour. If you're happy with that then it's up to you, but to most people it is completely unacceptable.

If Inter are the competition then it's no contest I'm afraid. Let's not delude ourselves shall we? Anyway, in between running himself over, being drunk, and bashing the bishop live on the internet (allegedly), he won't have time to play football for them. So, we save our money and don't have a disruptive influence in the dressing room. A win-win.

Lennon will play silly buggers as he did with the Hooper bids. If true, this will drag on and on.....and on.

His behaviour, or the lack of it, is quite alarming in all honesty. You could probably classify the hard partying as 'high spirits,' but siphoning the python on webcam is pretty disgusting. I don't want this type of idiot at my club, irrespective of whether he is a good player or not.
-
Personally, I would be disappointed to see Cork and JWP on the bench. Cork and Shaw turned us around last season, and I firmly believe this is JWP's breakthrough year. I wouldn't want to see this guy denying either of them a place.
-
This guy may be a good player but he looks like he's up his own a**e. I don't think he'll settle into a daily routine in Marchwood quite honesty. I'd rather stick with Corky.

Now, that made me laugh out loud! Cheers for brightening my day!

Unfortunately, it all comes down to money and the chances to win trophies. We can't offer the latter.

Well, we haven't got anyone to replace Guly with yet, so best keep him. He's a good player who gets unfairly targeted by some Saints fans. I think the lack of any tweets from foreign lands is quite worrying - seems MP hasn't got the contacts we thought he has. Meanwhile, NA secured the services of a very good Wayne Bridge for free. Time for MP to deliver.

It's the thin end of the wedge really. They are probably watching you through your webcam as we speak. 1984 is well and truly here. The Yanks are going too far - they are monitoring everyone else when they should be monitoring themselves. They and Israel are the root cause of terrorism, and our idiotic Govt. blindly follows them. They will be bleating on about 9/11 forever.....what about the 60M who died in WW2? They control their own people through fear; we shouldn't allow that to happen here.
-
I suspect we are aiming too high - in other words Cortese is being too ambitious. What we should be looking at is sustained improvement year on year, then in 2-3 years time we can aim to attract the bigger fish. Italian internationals will not come here.

Can Southampton break the top four next season?
Suomi Saint replied to JPTCount's topic in The Saints
Not in a zillion years. And we will be lucky to spend 10M as no one wants to join a team near the bottom of the PL. -
Young Luke should be careful not to take any notice of the hype that surrounds him. He is not a star yet, merely a very talented and promising youngster. He will get nowhere near the First X1 at either Chelsea or Man U, and only got in our starting line up because Fox was so bad. He is not that impressive when making forward runs, and is light years behind Baines in that respect. He needs to put his phone away and concentrate on working hard and improving himself.
-
I am not sure how it can be an accidental tweet in all honesty. He's being a silly boy if he is playing games and should show some respect to the Saints fans. If he want to sit on the United bench for the next 2 years then that will give him plenty of time to get his tweets right.

How do you follow the Saints when you're not in Southampton
Suomi Saint replied to aussiesaint20's topic in The Saints
Been abroad 18 years now....follow the Saints on here and on Abu Dhabi Sports. Last year on Al Jazeera. Usually go to an away game on the infrequent occasions I am back in Blighty - last live match I saw was Walsall away!! When I'm in Finland I sometimes watch the matches in my local bar. 18 years ago there was only BBC World Service, so times have definitely improved. -
So, we still haven't signed anyone yet? MP is certainly proving to be a magnet for those European 'stars' who will take us to the next level. So far we have.....Forren.

The Qataris have been trying to persuade talented foreign youngsters to become citizens in a bid to find a team for 2022 - seems that they failed with this lad.

Yes, the old YouTube. With a bit of careful editing, airbrushing, and a slimming black kit, I could look like the real deal even with my hip replacement.
-
I don't know why you lot waste your time posting about such an insignificant club. They are finished. Let's move on.

I don't know about the gatemen being on the fiddle, but I do remember my dad lifting me over the turnstiles occasionally with their permission. I guess he must have tipped them, but the entrance fee was really low for nippers in those days - probably 6 old pence - so the tip couldn't have been that much. I used to sit on the wall at the front of the West Stand, and when I got bigger I took an old stool to stand on. Fell off it a few times when Ron nodded one in.

Steve Mills was so talented that he would have definitely played for the full England side had he not been involved in that car accident. I believe he broke his hip, which is definitely a career ending injury. After that he reappeared for 2 or 3 more games, one of which was just before the Cup Final I seem to remember. He was a shadow of his former self unfortunately. I loved watching him play, just as we all love watching Luke play now.

You have to weigh up the pros and cons. However, it is a VERY violent country. I've worked with numerous South Africans, and they have all lost friends/relatives to either car accidents or violent crime. I met one guy in Dubai who had been carjacked 3 times, shot twice, mauled by a lion, and had a concrete block dropped on his head. The concrete block incident was the most serious because it is almost always fatal. Miraculously, he came to and staggered to a farmhouse, where he was set upon by the white farmer's dogs!! At the hospital his workers were queuing at his bedside to get their wages. A good friend of mine (who is of Greek heritage) told me a story of when his brother was kidnapped by redneck Afrikaners as they wanted to shoot him. They 'assumed' he was a man of the wrong colour until he told them he actually went to an Afrikaans school. On the flip side, you can have a very nice life there, but there is always that lingering doubt that something untoward might happen to you.

What was fan violence like in the 80s at the dell?
Suomi Saint replied to kwsaint's topic in The Saints
Yep, the 70's were the worst, and quite often there was a punch up at half time in the Archers with coppers helmets flying everywhere. I distinctly remember the battles with the Millwall fans, which, thankfully, I managed to avoid by just standing still and watching the match. At one of those games there was a huge space around me during a particularly brutal punch up, but being naive and stupid I didn't make a run for it. Strangely, I got left alone in what was a modern day no man's land. They were dark days for football, no doubt. My sister went out with a skinhead who was at the centre of it all during those days. He was very polite and treated my sister very well. I guess he saw it as gladiatorial battle; only those that went looking for it found it. I never got thumped once during all those years, so I guess I was either lucky or the other side knew I wasn't up for losing my teeth.
