Two defensive midfielder means he doesn't have to track back. If he could play through balls to somewhen with a bit more pace we would see the best of him. He is a quality player but as usual English want effort and work rate of technique.

He has quality first touch, heading,deadball striking,live ball striking,aerial abilty and distrubution. He will always be a handful.He has done more for the club than anyone post league 1 days. even if in the final year of contract he is playing a cameo role he will still be useful.He deserves this more than anyone.
