  1. Any chance we're at risk for points additions?
  2. Oh come on, minor details...don't be so picky!

    Ivan Juric

    Many thanks....I think.
  4. Is Lucy Pinder still a Saints fan? Asking for a friend.
  5. One thing stands out for me - his style and tactical approach is about as far removed as Russell Martin's as you could get which suits me even if it seems a bit mad.
  6. Some big powerful athletes who can run, jump, tackle and get about the pitch would be a start - if they can play a bit of football as well even better 🙂
  7. That's great especially the video clip of the row (wish I could understand Italian) and I hope SR know what they are getting into with this guy because he certainly will not be a shrinking violet. Interesting six months coming up and, because of the position we're in, I guess we have little to lose and much to gain. Let's see which way it goes.
  8. Just did a check on his assistants and saw that he had a Senior fitness assistant plus 3 other fitness assistants at Torino. Things at Staplewood are seemingly going to ramp up 🙂 Italian Matteo Paro seems to follow him around as his assistant.
  9. You say you did try to explain as if nobody else thought of this or agreed with you which is a strange attitude to adopt. Clearly we are in a desperate situation so not a great prospect for any incoming manager which is partly down to SR failing to act sooner.
  10. Direct, vertical attacks is music to my ears as is double pivot in midfield - Downes would obviously be one but not sure who the other would be so might be looking to bring someone in during next window. Wing backs who can cross suggests that KWP and Sugawara will be the choices. Big target man suggests he'll be keen to see what Tall Paul can do. Dibling and Fernandes as the 2 attacking midfielders. Centre backs any 3 from Bednarek, THB, Wood, Stephens and Edward unless he gives Taylor a try. I think a contract until the end of the season makes absolute sense with the mess we find ourselves in. I'm guessing his agent will have baked in a considerable bonus if he pulls off the miracle of keeping us up - if he does presumably we'll look to give him a longer contract. It's not a sexy appointment but I like the fact that he'll work the players hard and hopefully improve their fitness in some cases. As with any new manager you would hope he has some good contacts which might lead to him bringing in some players he knows and trusts. The days of all friends together enjoying leisurely training sessions look to be over. It'll be very interesting to see how things develop so good luck to Ivan the Terrible.
  11. That'll be a good start.
  12. He'll be in for Baz.
  13. Yeah, he's been making some very good saves in games I've watched. Unfortunately, Ange is another who likes to get his keeper involved with passing out and we all know that Fraser is hopeless at it - he's just too slow and cumbersome with the ball at his feet.
  14. Felt sorry for Big Fraser tonight. Worth a look if you haven't seen his two howlers - Spurs were coasting at 3-0 and within a six minute disaster spell it was 3-2. I half expected Ange to substitute him because his head was gone and he had more of a glazed look about him than normal.
  15. 'Do you think Dragan is catching on yet?'
  16. I think my main concern with him is that he doesn't have much of a track record in football which is unusual at the level he is now operating at. Plus we heard from and read about Jason Willcox regularly yet this guy seems happy to jog along in the background. I suppose he could quietly be doing a brilliant job for the club - we have to hope so but I'm afraid he doesn't inspire me.
  17. Are you able to list his experience, achievements and qualifications which demonstrate he has the talents and attributes to be a successful DoF at a Premier league club? It's a serious question and I'd be interested to know the answer.
  18. Ok, not one with any football nous which is the key part.
  19. So Liverpool played five up front last night if you are using the picture you posted to demonstrate that Elliot played right attack?
  20. Agree on 4231 formation.
  21. Why are you saying Salah is better than Elliot? You do know one is a striker whereas the other is a midfielder.
  22. Long queues going into Staplewood today - not sure if it's for bottled water or candidates arriving to be interviewed for the new manager job.
  23. There were a fair few players in their starting line up who'd be pretty offended at being described as Liverpool reserves.
  24. Play as we did for most of the second half and see where that takes us at half time. With plenty of subs to call on when needed I think this gives us the best chance of getting anything out of this game.
  25. Potters unveiled at The Potters!
