  1. 140 post since 13:40 this afternoon. His work here is done........
  2. Before you start to wish for a second tier for St Mary's visit the "Stadium of Light" (Or Newcastle as well I understand)as an away fan. The atmosphere for the two cup games was dire with hardly any home fans and if you were unlucky enough to have a season ticket up in "the gods" you may as well stay at home and watch the game on the telly. It could be my age but I honestly struggled to tell who we had on the pitch (o.k. not helped by MoPo selections) I get the point about expanding as I can't justify a season ticket and getting one or two tickets takes a lot of planning and manipulation (I've only managed West Ham, Fulham and Albion this season and the rest look like selling out) but how often would we be treated to an experience like some of the Tuesday evening League one or Championship games (one of the Sheffield clubs in the snow springs to mind as it was horrible and not just because of the result) - God knows we can be quiet enough as it is. On the other hand a 40,000 seat St Mary's bursting at the seems For Barcelona.....
  3. Well done - is that the second time you've started the post match reaction before the final whistle?
  4. Can only read half the thread due to number user's on my ignore list.......
  5. I've sort of traveled up from the South Coast. Working in Doncaster I went to Hull on Tuesday with a mate (who though he's a Northerner has followed Saints since he did time at RNAS Yoevilton) I've negotiated a weekend pass and I'll be at the Stadium of light tomorrow before going back down South next Friday. I've actually managed as many away games as home games this year.
  6. The Colliery Tavern opposite the stadium was friendly enough for away fans for the league cup game. Park and ride was signposted off of Wessington way (followed the signs for the stadium from the A1m) Was a good night out (apart from the result - hope we do better this time.)
  7. No sign of any snow in Doncaster. Rain stopped @ lunchtime and now blue skies. Looking forward to seeing my second away win tonight.
  8. Daft question. Any one got a spare ticket for this? Been over to the stadium today and it's sold out. E-mail: sevans@vulcantothesky.org
  9. Top read, thanks for making a great day better!
  10. Going to this with a mate from work (as we are half way there already!) Hope the team are more up for it than most of the posters on here

  12. Gone to sort out Billy Sharp.

    Away Tickets.

So without wanting to appear thick... Are all away games selling out? I know Norwich sold out but I thought that was because the club only went for a small allocation. I work in Doncaster so I'd hoped to go to the Hull game (what with it being on a Tuesday night and in February and all) is that likely to sell out as well? I can't justify a season ticket, by the time I get home at weekends half the season is gone!
  14. Any contact details? I can't seem to do pm's on here. e-mail sevans@vulcantothesky.org
  15. How many times have we played Blackpool on the telly? We must be due to beat them on the box by now!
  16. Also went tonight to support Rovers. I thought they looked pretty good when they got the ball on the ground, just a shame they seemed to insist on booting it long to Diouff and playing head tennis, Diouff tries to many fancy tricks and flicks. Thought Simon Gillett had a good game particularly as he seemed to be marking the biggest bloke on the pitch (Jason Roberts) Could not believe the number of corners and free kicks Reading got (the only time they looked interested) Thought the atmosphere was all right, particularly near the end (but then again I sit in the Chapel so I'm used to quiet) Reading support was crap - and they've started singing "we're coming for you" Good night out with a decent result.
  17. Sat in the Chapel (Block 18, Row E) When he hit the first one he looked like a man possessed. Maybe he has seen this thread. Second one, was thanks to Lee who just refused to give up.
  18. 50 originally from Hythe but now in Woolston, though I spend most of my time up in Doncaster (where I occasionally get to chat with Dean Saunders the Donnie Rovers Manager) First game would have been in the early 70's when my Dad took me along, could not tell you who we played or what the result was as all I could see was the back of the bloke in front. I do remember the fantastic atmosphere though. When I moved back down here from Wales I went to a pre season with Eastleigh as MLT was supposed to be playing (the year we went down as Saggy was sitting in the stand looking grumpy) Didn't get too see MLT but was impressed with the abuse Wise was dishing out to all and sundry, I stupidly thought with all that the Championship would not be that bad and we'd bounce straight back up. First Game @ St Marys was Preston, the club ran a promotion with cheap tickets if your address was within a mile of the stadium. 0-0 I think but I was hooked. First away was Reading when Wright Phillips scored (twice?) missed the second as we were still in the queuing for the bogs when the second half kicked off. Go to as many home games as I can and usually take my Grandson. I've only been to two away games this year and I promise not to do it again (Leicester and Doncaster)
  19. Could not say about Leeds yesterday but for Doncaster the team bus (the usual Coliseum one) met them on the apron, the team got straight off the aircraft and onto the bus so not as stressful as you and I travelling.
  20. They flew up to Doncaster the day before and were pant's. Maybe the team does not travel well, though the choice of plane may not help (Eastern Airways Jetsteam 41 so not a lot of room for the full team and the staff)
  21. Guly goal..Taxi???
  22. I hope we don't sign Billy Sharp, I hope the goals he scores for Doncaster keep them up and sink the Skates. They are also capable of taking points off our rivals. He's more use to us staying oop North.
  23. I can't do PM and am not a northern monkey, but I am in Doncaster for the weekend and hope to go to the match. What time in the pub?
  24. All change, Looks like I will be there on Saturday as I have been royally ****ed over by my boss. Anyway as every cloud has a silver lining I shall be at the Lakeside Early and then in the Keepmoat (if the tickets turn up.) Spoke to Doncaster ticket office today and they are confidant that there will be tickets for sale for the away end (but cash only) If you spot a sad old bloke with an improbably large tash, say hello as I'll be happy but lonely.
