  1. Number 9 is Ron Davies he's the leader of our team He's the greatest centre forward that the world has ever seen We always can rely on him to score the vital goal And as for xxxxx you can stick him up your 'ole NA na na, na na na na na, etc etc
  2. I do agree with Yorkie. I take my 9 year old boy and his mate and some of the vitriolic abuse of the home fans their players and the songs they sing are quite embarrassing. They rile these fans on trains etc and my boy gets very frightened. It puts me off taking him. On the other hand some of the songs and chants are brill and some are very funny. The lambert song and the "is there a fire drill?" etc are worth the journey on their own. Gettiing behind the team vocally and having humorous banter with the away fans is a must. Moronic personal abuse and foul and abusive language are unnecessary have no place IMO
  3. After 28 games we had 46 points. This season we've got 51, so we're 5 points better off. However apart from losing at Rochdale and Walsall and drawing at Peterborough we won every game and got a whopping 46 points from the last 18 games giving us 92, 5 ahead of Hudds in 3rd - so 2 points per game exactly over the season but 2.55 per game for the last 18. We're ahead of where we were last season but can we expect such a storming finish again or will we need one?
  4. I agree getting into the Premier League this season would be a real achievement but I wouldn't want to go up and struggle like we did for all those years at the Dell. CL? Not really necessary and possibly a little over ambitious but comfortable and in the Europa and a shout at the occasional domestic cup would be most suitable IMO. We need to spend now though to cement our promo prospects as this oppo may not come round again for some time so let's see just what this window brings
  5. Not that I would take too much store by what Redknapp says this interview with Robert Peston http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-16357044 does make interesting reading. If what he says is true and I suspect it is what chance does any team have of breaking into the top 6 (assuming we do go up at some point) without spending as much as the Man Us and Man Citys of this world. Wonder if Nicola took this into account when saying that CL is the club's goal
  6. Chappers says on Twitter first day back in full training and will have to see how knee holds up for Sunday. On the bench could be a good call
  7. Apologies if posted elsewhere but gallery on OS seems to suggest both Chappers and Connors are fit. No sign of Davis though. Probably keeping him wrapped in cotton wool
  8. If only it was. I would be laughing all the way to Grimsby whilst still picking up my wages from Saints. Sadly though I'm not he
  9. TF was signed on a 5 year deal. He's got at least another year left if not two
  10. I presumed they were all there. Herbie's report on the Saintslist says the trophy was passed to someone who looked so like Markus' it must have been his brother. All the people in the Directors box clapped when the fans sang Markus' name inc NC
  11. Not sure if this has been posted anywhere but AOC said on Solent that he was looking forward to playing at the next level with Southampton and then his mum came on and said subject to sorting one or two things out he would be staying. All very positive
  12. That's great Thanks
  13. I know this has been posted before but I can't find the thread. My 8 year old son wants to try and catch the players as they arrive at the stadium next saturday for the Walsall game to get their autographs. Does anyone know what time they arrive and which entrance? Is it the main one or one of the side ones? Thanks

    Hammond

How many bookings does he have? On the just back from the game fred someone says he has 9 and is just one away from a 2 match ban but the OS says he's on 6 and that he missed 1 game (Oldham H) after he got 5. If he only has 6 that would mean just one booking since which seems unlikely. Anyone know for sure?
  15. Nay nay and thrice nay!
  16. We need to win our 10 home games and 5 of our remaining 8 away games. = 45 points + 34 = 79 points which should be enough bearing in mind we will have to have beaten most of the teams above us to get there. On the assumption that we will slip up at home against maybe Leeds or Huddersfield or Swindon we might need to win 6 away. Of all the games left only Norwich looks unwinnable IMO
  17. This team is now playing like a team. Apart from maybe 20 to 25 minutes in the second half we were the better team. And that was without Jaidi or Papa Waigo. Davis Had nothing to do 7 Thomas Solid 7 Trotman Strong 8 Perry Good 1st Half Tired 2nd 6 Harding We would struggle without him 8 Sniederlin Still flatters to deceive 6 Lallana Good goal Faded 2nd half 7 James Not really good enough 5 Hammond Strong dependable Midfield dynamo 8 Mills Lively Gives good width. Dangerous 7 Lambert Won Everything 8 Subs Jaidi Immense 8 Mellis Not good enough IMO but shored up the MF 6 Papa Only on for a few minutes
  18. I think you'll find that it is Dean Wilkins who is an astute judge of a player especially at this level. As for what Minty says couldn't agree more. It's Alan Ball all over again in terms of the play going through him/short passes (not the good in the air bit perhaps though)!
