Good shout ?

Looks like Franny was playing golf with Ed Chamberlain and the rest of the gang at the London Golf Club at roughly the same time.

Hi Nadia Is that the Sir John Barleycorn or under the flyover on the A3i Ringwood/Salisbury turning? Regards
-
Hi, Mr brother has the tickets and he says I can meet him with tickets at a time to suit him between 5 and 7.30 this evening in the car park of the Sir John Barleycorn at Cadnam or in the layby under the flyover on A31 at the main turn off for Ringwood/Salisbury. Hope that's ok. Let me know please Regards

Hi Chocco boxo whereabouts are you please?
-
I have 2 adult and 2 junior tickets available for Wednesday's game. I thought we were going to be in the NE but owing to a last minute change of plans we are no longer going up there. The tickets including the booking fees cost £16 (adult) and £6 (child) but if anyone fancies going I will accept £20 for the lot (or best offer). I can meet someone locally or post them tomorrow if required. Cheers

I wonder if anyone can offer any advice on the best way to secure tickets for this game when the ticket office opens at 9am tomorrow morning for ST holders with one away game please? (Assuming they'll still be some left). Is it better to go online or go to the stadium and queue up (or both)? Do they have an allocation of tickets that they keep at the stadium which is separate from the ones they release online? If they don't I can see it getting very confusing. If anyone's had the same dilemma before and can offer any help that would be much appreciated Regards

Tickets now gone. Thanks

I have 2 tickets going for tomorrow's game. One adult £26 and one concession £21. Would prefer to sell them together for convenience etc. can meet Rownhams tonight or we are getting the 9.22 X Country Train from Soton Parkway/the 8.45 from Bmth. Email me on stevematthew2002@yahoo.co.uk if interested. I appreciate there is already a thread asking for tickets but it's quite old and isn't clear if they've been successful. Regards Steve

Come on then let's think up something better

Please please please can we change that awful Cortese song or at least the last line. I cringe when it starts up. I'm quite certain (although i haven't spoken to him personally) that hating Pompey isn't at the forefront of his thoughts. I suspect he couldn't care less about them, or any other club for that matter, one way or another. Anyone else agree? How about Cortese woooooOOh Cortese woooooOOh He comes from Italy He'll make us Champions League! Come on guys let's give him a song to be proud of

Hasn't Gaston bought a house here? I'm sure I heard that somewhere. I think that if we add some more quality and we're not constantly battling relegation he could have a very good season. He'll also have a full pre season with us and should therefore be a lot fitter than he has been this season. I know people will say he should have been fit enough anyway but if you miss pre season with your new club and know you're leaving your old club you get behind and never catch up. Could well be our player of the season next year as we head for a top 6 finish!

The "Southampton Way" for me has always been the same. It's like getting on a dodgy roller coaster except that you don't know it's dodgy and need of repair when you climb aboard. You start off slowly and all nice and secure and all you can see is up. Then following a sure but steady rise just as you think you're going to get to the top the track gives way below you and you are plunged into a world of uncertainty and have no idea where you're going to end up. Then just as you think all is lost the car finds the track again and whisks you onwards and upwards again. Then again sometimes you don't actually reach the top but instead are plunged forever downwards. Down and down and down with no end in sight. There are no ups on the horizon and just as you think you're going to crash off the end and all die lo and behold you're whisked away onto another upward spiral to start the whole process off again. It's a wonder any of us survive. That's the "Southampton Way"

Rickie and Super Kelv for ENGLAND! Make it happen.
st_tommy replied to cider saint's topic in The Saints
Why do fans want their team's players to play for their country? 1) They come back injured 2) They come back knackered and are hopeless for the next league game and 3) it puts them in the shop window and we end up having to sell our best players. It must be just some sort of ego trip that supporters are on so they can brag to their mates that Saints can boast X number of internationals. It's the last thing we want surely especially if they're flying round the world and back to play a bit part in a pretty meaningless game. -
Anyone on here thinking of going? Did anyone go last year. I was thinking of taking my boy who is only 9 but I'm not sure how well he'll cope with a black tie do and a 4 course dinner! Don't suppose they're offering a children's menu! Anyone been before. If so were there any kids there?

The odds for promotion are for just that either top two or through the play offs. For the odds on a top 2 finish only see http://www.oddschecker.com/football/english/championship/top-2-finish. We are 1 to 18 with one of the bookies and 1 to 8 on at worst while WHAM are 7s or 9 to 2 at best.

Drought has now been officially declared. Last time there was an official drought was in 1976 when we won the cup. First official drought since then = Saints must win promotion or even the league. HTH

It's on the OS now too

To Land of Hope and Glory We hate Nottingham Forest We hate Liverpool too We hate Man United But Southampton we love you Dah da da da da da Repeat etc
-
Number 9 is Ron Davies he's the leader of our team He's the greatest centre forward that the world has ever seen We always can rely on him to score the vital goal And as for xxxxx you can stick him up your 'ole NA na na, na na na na na, etc etc
-
I do agree with Yorkie. I take my 9 year old boy and his mate and some of the vitriolic abuse of the home fans their players and the songs they sing are quite embarrassing. They rile these fans on trains etc and my boy gets very frightened. It puts me off taking him. On the other hand some of the songs and chants are brill and some are very funny. The lambert song and the "is there a fire drill?" etc are worth the journey on their own. Gettiing behind the team vocally and having humorous banter with the away fans is a must. Moronic personal abuse and foul and abusive language are unnecessary have no place IMO

After 28 games we had 46 points. This season we've got 51, so we're 5 points better off. However apart from losing at Rochdale and Walsall and drawing at Peterborough we won every game and got a whopping 46 points from the last 18 games giving us 92, 5 ahead of Hudds in 3rd - so 2 points per game exactly over the season but 2.55 per game for the last 18. We're ahead of where we were last season but can we expect such a storming finish again or will we need one?

I agree getting into the Premier League this season would be a real achievement but I wouldn't want to go up and struggle like we did for all those years at the Dell. CL? Not really necessary and possibly a little over ambitious but comfortable and in the Europa and a shout at the occasional domestic cup would be most suitable IMO. We need to spend now though to cement our promo prospects as this oppo may not come round again for some time so let's see just what this window brings
