Correct. For me 4-1 losses to QPR and Coventry set of alram bells in my head - it's just a pity people who could do something about it didn't realise it.
-
Today was always going to be a tough ask - but we and the team must take heart from the last few results - who'd have thought we would have beaten Preston, Cardiff and Ipswich away. Agree the results again were not kind. Hopefully Barnsley's matches will catch up with them a bit.
-
They are certainly not **** at home, but Preston have won 13 at home (more than Brum) and we beat them away:smt045

Well I just filled this in and had us finishing 19th with Blackpool & Barnsley below us leaving Palace , Norwich & Charlton to be relegated. I based this on Palace's non- scoring run, but must have got a bit carried away.:smt017

Who have thought that Euell would be the answer to our problems - I understand that there are many others in team that have contributed but he stands out for me. Never before last night had he scored twice in one game for Saints - he last did this in the league for Charlton in May 04 v Leeds. Scored twice last night, crossed for the pen v Cardiff and somebody will confirm this but must have played some part in the goals v Preston. Keep going Jason - your club needs you.

OMG, Blackpool's next few games are amazing. Not sure if it's good or bad for us, bit of both, really as teams in the mix will be dropping points. I feel Derby & Donny are out of this now. Charlton - gone, leaving, any 2 from us, Forest, Watford, Barnsley, Blackpool & Norwich. I'll add Plymouth to that list because although they have the same points as Derby they have played 36. We have one game in hand on Norwich - great - but Watford and Barnsley (who are both above us) have a game in hand each on us - not so great. It will be interesting, exciting, nerve wracking. Strap yourself in fellas - this is gonna be one heck of a ride!

What worries me is that the other teams down there seem to be turning it around too.........Donacaster, Derby and Watford for example Forest and Plymouth posted excellent wins over the weekend, and although Norwich seemed doomed I thought that about Donny a few weeks back, things can change so easily we just need to pick something up over the next 2 games as I feel the other teams will step up when required.
-
they have, and somebody asked at the weekend what they have that we don't, blimey where does the list end. ability to win home games manager stability manager/board who know the importance of survival good team balance - not all youth manager who knows the english game annoying when it seems so simple (maybe it isn't) and yet we are failing at most of the above.
-
not sure if its luck, but I've lost count of the amount of games where we have taken the lead but not gone on to win. Ok so we came back against Preston, Norwich and Swansea to salvage something, but we were ahead against Swansea home, Sheff Wed home, Reading home, Coventry home, Birmingham home & Ipswich home and failed to win. Not just this season either.
-
I can see it now NP takes the job, gets them relegated and then rejoins us as it's his 'spiritual home'..........sound familiar????? Please make it happen someone
-
"could do alot worse" you say from that comment you must be a skate or Tony Adams.
-
the thread about Adams getting the boot has gone also:smt102
-
agreed, was hoping he would stay there and get them relegated - let's hope they appoint another clown - JP possibly:p
-
I'd love to see us win, like the next man however I'm convinced that even if we do get a win on Saturday it will be another false dawn eg. won @ Reading lost @ home to Forest, won @ Barnsley lost @ home to Donny. Please Saints prove me wrong.

There are 92 clubs in the football league. There are two teams who have only won once at home - Barnet are 1 and we are the other. This is why we are going down. Why did we gamble on youngsters to keep us in the division? This is why we are going down. Why did we loan out our top scorers and other experienced players to our rivals? This is why we are going down. Why did we employ a management team who know nothing about the championship? This is why we are going down.
-
I know we cannot chop him after 3 games but he will not save us - he was part of a dutch failure that was the problem not the solution. A 'fresh' manager might have changed our fortunes like Forest, Norwich & Watford (although they have slumped down a little).

charlton 1-1

There will be a 1200 GMT pitch inspection at Hillsborough to determine whether Sheffield Wednesday's game with Barnsley can go ahead and Southampton have promised to make a decision by the same time on their home game with Sheffield United. from bbc website

I can't believe how many times over the last couple of seasons we have taken the lead and not gone on to win. People say thinigs even themselves out but THEY DON'T!!!!
-
give me a break!!! Blackpool winning at Palace with 10 men and Charlton winning away???????
-
I'm concerned that yet again every team around us are wheeling and dealing trying to improve and we don't seem to be doing anything. The people obviously feel these players are good enough to get us out of our position - a position that they have put us in!!!!!!!
