  1. and now Birmingham this is a problem taking the lead and then not winnig - so so frustrating!!!!!!!!
  2. fair do's mate , but I expect us to not be in the bottom 3 after 4 games even without the points deduction. We have improved our squad and to get turned over @ Swindon and not beat Brentford at home is, to say the least awful. I'm not expecting promotion or play offs but I thought being an ex prem team not so long ago we could maybe have got a win after 4 games in div 1 - like Leeds, Charlton & Norwich have managed. We have a good manager with experience and I can see he is strengthening the right areas but it's frustrating that we still cannot hold a lead. I can be patient but I am also worried that we have tough fixtures in the next month and how far off will we be after them??
  3. I would have thought Brentford was one of our more easier games given our squad of players - what worries me is how many points we are going to get away to Charlton, Leeds, Millwall, Tranmere etc. I am worried:(
  4. looks like nothing has changed........first Millwall and now Brentford - take the lead and cannot kill the game off!!!!!
  5. better? not sure, but with others should be good enough to beat Swindon away and other teams in this div - as pointed out we have potentially the best forward and keep er and have just nabbed the captain of the team that were top of the league so I expect us to start beating teams sooner rather than later. Don't tell me that he needs time as he had all summer to get the players in why - we knew in the friendlies who wasn't up to the job didn't we? With the 10 pt deduction we cannot afford to be saying give him more time come October when/if we are still in the bottom 3!
  6. So we come down to league one and still can't win some games - despite improving the squad in places and getting an experienced manager. Even without the -10 deduction we would still be near the bottom - it is clear we need to strenghten (and quick) before we slip down further i.e. div 2. Even Colchester without their manager and Hammond won tonight and it is very worrying that we should get thumped by Huddersfield and then lose to Swindon who hadn't scored before tonight. Lets see some money spent on a CB - I know we tried to get Jaidi but look elsewhere and get him before Saturday!!!!
  7. this is to backup my feelings. What I have is the the first 10 league games of last season where the team has scored the first goal w d l wolves 10 sheff u 10 palace 9 1 qpr 8 1 1 readin 8 1 1 barnsley 7 2 1 cardiff 7 3 fors 7 3 sheff w 7 2 1 bham 7 3 norw 7 1 2 b city 6 2 2 cov 6 1 3 derby 6 4 donny 6 1 3 plym 6 3 1 pres 6 1 3 swansea 6 3 1 burn 6 4 saints 5 4 1 blackpool 5 4 1 ipsw 5 3 2 charl 4 2 4 watf 3 2 5 In other words where Wolves and Sheff Utd scored 1st they went onto win in those 10 gaems where they scored first, where as Watford scored first in 10 games but only managed to collect 3 points on 3 occassions. I always thought we were awful at hanging onto a lead and we may have come bottom during the whole season but that would take too much work/time.
  8. hopefully he also said to them that "when you take the lead - HOLD ONTO IT" Something we really struggle with. Not just yesterday but countless games over the last 2 seasons (and probably more).
  9. Yeah silly old me for not knowing that Carlisle's manager is Greg Abbott - who doesn't know that???? My point being that we have a well know and experienced coach now on board compared to 90 odd% of others clubs in the div so I'd say that it is good appointment.
  10. How many of you can actually name fellow league one managers - I had to look alot of them up. Apart from MK Dons (Paul Ince), we are the only other club to have (assuming it is Pardew) a manager with premier league experience (and alot more success and experience than Ince as well). We could do alot worse.
  11. Ok, probably not my first choice but certainly above T Adams Poortaloo Wotte J Jordan and many more Knows this league and the league above it and shows that we must have some cash to pay him instead of opting for a lower div manager i.e. Tisdale
  12. awful isn't it = people have very short memories if they want Adams in charge, do you not remember double agent Redknapp??????? I'd sooner have Wotte or Pootaloo than Adams - he will not be welcomed!
  13. Just can't believe it. After the last 4 or 5 years I've suffered Fa cup final defeat, premiership relegation, seen a host of good players leave, those skate b**t**ds from down the road have a little bit of success, play off defeat and seen us got relegated again. However the last few days have restored some faith. A takeover Player of the season turns down prem to stay with us Useless manager goes and news that (depending on what you believe) that we are now one of the richest clubs around. Nobody knows the money that will be available but I prey it's done sensibly. I'm hoping for a managerial appointment that can firstly get us out of this division. Then a storming championship campaign where we buy a potent strike force and finally the promised land once more. There is no go wasting money on ONE player when we must build slowly and ensure we don not become a Leeds United or find ourselves BANKRUPT for good.
  14. here here, got excited with their winner - forgot what cheering and getting excited was like.
  15. if he doesn't want to stay then great and he wants to stay then get rid of him. Bottom line is - he has not performed well nor has he kept us up - my reading into this is that he hasn't done his job. If I didn't do my job I'd be sacked - end of. Also what is the fascination with Ince?. He had success with MK Dons granted but they were in div 2 and he got found out when making the step up - he hardly puleld up trees at Blackburn. Settle for Aidy Boothroyd myself or Jimbo Magilton.
  16. not appoint double agent redcrapp
  17. Exactly! Clearly this wasn't the way forward for our club. How often does the assistant do better than the manager he worked under..........can't think of any. There must be some but can't think of any. Clueless decision...just one of many from the clueless board! Please for the sake of our future get get an English manager in and lets get promoted back into the CCC.
  18. If you read my post again instead of correcting potential errors you will notice that I implied he 'must be' as in 'could be' not that 'he is' the only forward to received more yellow cards than scored goals. Hope this helps.
  19. Mark Hughes holds quite a unique record for us. He must be the only forward to have got more yellow cards than goals - quite something for a forward.
  20. Forest have now signed Blackstock until end of season
  21. With defeats at home to the likes of Donacster, Blackpool and Forest we deserve to go down - they are hardly footballing greats. In recent times we have fallen behind teams like Hull, Wigan, Bristol City, Swansea and now it would seem Barnsley. We have a clueless chairman, who appoints clueless managers and the days of fielding a team brimming with internationals are long gone ie Crouch, Niemi, Svensson, Walcott, Bale, Jones (if you go back even further then the names are more impressive). The only posistive spin I can put on this is that the drop may make us stronger in the long term.............however I did think that when we dropped from the premier league.
  22. DP has signed for Brentford http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/b/brentford/7956652.stm
  23. If it stays 2-1 then we see forest (41pts) drop into the bottom 3 with Norwich then Plymouth above them on 42pts, but the better goal difference means even if we win our game in hand on them both we would be below them - suddenly it looks so much worse than before Barnsley kicked off:(
  24. what are people thoughts on this - personally I didn't think the other results weren't too bad today. Forest got thumped, Derby lost, Watford concede a late goal to only draw, Plymouth lost and Barnsley lost, as did Charlton although we could play until Xmas and I don't think they could catch us. Ok so Blackpool and Norwich won but far more positives than negatives. The only glaring negative was US NOT WINNING......AGAIN.
  25. It was hardly in the same league of misses as Chris Iwelumo for Scotland or Kanu for WBA.
