It's very difficult to be positive at the moment. I still felt negative after the Preston result. It was a freak result and it has been in vain due to some bad displays/results. I'm talking about 1 home win out of 9 and being thumped by Coventry, QPR and Swansea. Home losses against Bristol City and Blackpool. Those results against these 5 teams would have been shocks a couple of years ago but now we accept they will beat us. We sell our best players Crouch, Beattie, Niemi, Baird, Jones to name but a few - where has that cash gone? We have low attendances and WILL be involved in another relegation battle, lead by a manager who is OUT OF HIS DEPTH. Yes it's good to see youngsters have a go and I'm encouraged by their battling displays, but I do fear for our season. If Watford and Charlton had held their leads to day then 3 out of the 4 around us would have won. I cannot see where OUR next win is coming from.

For as long as I can remember we have been a premiership club, one man has ruined that for me - REDKNAPP. He bought in players that did not perform or care and cost us alot of money. He then was all smiles and joy as he crawled down the road, where he has a little bit of success. The only light for me is that they have now appointed somebody who is clueless and they (hopefully) will go down. They are turning into a bit of a circus (quite apt with a clown in goal). As for Redknapp, used to like him prior to coming to Saints and thought with time he would be good - it seems 'double agent Harry' had other plans all along.

I'll try not to be negative, but this is our first win for a while, having not won at all in Ocotober and we are still near the bottom. I still don't belive Jan is the man. Having said that a good result and hopefully the start of a good run.

I'm hoping we lose today and the next couple for the penny to drop to Lowe that Jan is not the man. I realise the next man in (Dowie??) still has the same players to work with but so did Redcrapp at Spurs and he has 4pts from 2 games!!!

from bbc website Terrific!!!!! Southampton will be without midfielder Adam Lallana (ankle) while Andrew Surman faces a late fitness test. There is also a sickness bug sweeping the Saints camp, with Chris Perry, Joseph Mills and Tomas Pekhart all suffering with illness. Loan signing Alex Pearce is likely to start on the bench. I like some on here were looking forward to a season filled with entertaining football and a chance to give youth a go. However I look at our team on Saturday and can't help but think it's a youth team at best. They do not have the physical ability or experience at this level...YET. We need a blend of experience and youth and a manager that knows how to alter things when the match is slipping away. At the moment I don't think we have this. We have experieenced players on the bench and feel with Perry starting we wouldn't have conceded that early goal. I'm also doubting McGoldrick - we are pinning our hopes on all our goals from this fella and he has no more than a few subs appearances to his name - the same can be said for Llana. It's time to get this sorted because we cannot kid ourselves we are in trouble. It's sad to say but I'm actually jealous of teams like Coventry - they have Eastwood and Morrison - I'd never thought I'd say this but I'd love them in our team. We seem to have settled for free transfers/loans/getting rid of our best players and I can understand the need to do this financially but it is a pity.

Ba defending for 1st goal and sending off didn't help, but that 'goal' really killed us I feel. What a bad decision - different ref and I thin kwe may have seen a different result it was 13 (ref & lino) v 10 at times. Got hopeful when we equalised - what was I thinking. The writing was on the wall with some of the decisions - how did the ref think Holmes ended up on crutches????
