Never think we re going to win, even at 2-0 up. Winning positions against so many teams but don't kill them off. Who is to blame and how do they sort it out??? Losing all these points will catch up with us one day.
-
Struggling to be optimistic about that. Going to Wembley but feel we are going down. Left it too late to change manager and unlike Everton, Palace, West Ham we haven't had that 'new manager' effect. Also remind of 2005 where we take the lead but cant' get that win.

Davis out of NI squad with hamstring injury.
-
We beat West Ham 3-2 earlier in the season so have the full set already.
-
On the plus side they have conceded 57 goals, only Stoke with 58 have conceded more.

Our best 3 signings since returning to the premier league

I always think back to the players we've had here Bale, Lambert, Shearer, Channon, Keegan, Shilton, Wright (Mark not Jermaine), Walcott, The Ox, Wallace brothers. -

Is it just me or were the BBC commentators wetting them selves about wigan? Banging on about how many corners they had, even giving their goalie MOTM!
-
I rarely seem him smile so that's all good. He'll have the hunger to succeed and to prove Stoke wrong I think. Exciting times! He may just be smiling about his bonus however.
-
Make that two votes for him - and he's welcome to bring that Dembele fella with him too.

Nice post to be fair and an interesting look at Sparky's record. I feel, like a lot have said on here, that ok he isn't a name to bowl us over but we have to be realistic. It's so late in the season who were we going to get at this stage?? We've missed a bullet and avoided Giggs, Pardew, Bruce, Pullis, Redknapp and it's only until the end of the season. I'd have preferred Silva, or others BUT his record is ok on the whole and I'm sure we would have taken him over MoPe in the summer. He knows the league and can hopefully make a difference. I do wonder why it went so wrong this season for him at Stoke? It's not like the bottom teams are amazingly good and Stoke (like us) shouldn't be down there with their squad in my opinion.
-
I nearly spat out my tea when i looked on BBC and saw a photo of Pullis - if only I could remove the photo to get that stupid idea out of someones head. We surely learn't our lesson from employing double agent Redknapp!!

Is there anything good we can say about Pellegrino?
sfc6mufc3 replied to whelk's topic in The Saints
I don't recognise MoPe from this description. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/40385651 -
Who I'd like Rodgers Silva Koeman (missed the boat there) Billic Jokanović Rowlett Who I don't want Hughes Pullis Pardew Redknapp De Boer McClaren Giggs

I'm more than happy to be proved wrong, but I don't think we will win again in the prem this season. I can't see us getting anything from Chelsea, Man City, Leicester, Everton, Arsenal, Bournemouth or West Ham. West Ham have lost their last three games 1-4, 1-4, 0-3 but you watch us lose to them!!
-
Wish it was MoPe caught spitting and he'd be off.

It's so sad. At least in our relegation year we attempted to change things by changing manager. Ok it didn't work but we could see it wasn't working under the existing management and acted. This season has been like a slow painful death, with the board/owners blinkered into what is happening. We cannot win a game for life or money or even score, we have failed to beat any of the three promoted teams, have wasted £19 on an unproven striker, did not get any decent loan players in to improve us, we have not spent appropriately in the transfer window when we have plenty of time and money to do so - has anybody seen that missing £50 million yet? We will get relegated!

'Both teams need to win' - Pellegrino Newcastle v Southampton (Saturday 15:00 GMT) Southampton Saints boss Mauricio Pellegrino with some thoughts on Saturday's opponents Newcastle, who are one place - and one point - above them in 16th. "They are a very compact team, their fans always lift the team," he says. "They will be difficult to manage. Really good defensively and on the counter. But I think we are in a good moment and our players have been training very well, it will be a tough game for Newcastle too. "It is interesting because both teams need to win. I can’t imagine they will be comfortable with just one point." Unlike you MoPe
-
I said this ages ago. All the bottom half with the exception of us and WBA have beaten one of the top 6 teams I think.
-
1 win out of 20 - that's half a season. Has there ever been another manager with a worse win record who has kept their job? They are mentioning Pardew going after not performing in 20 games (?) so why oh why are we persisting with this clown. I can only assume the board don't look at the points tally but look at the amount of losses!
-
Brighton beating Arsenal, another minnow beating a top 6 team......and we can't even beat Stoke!
-
I take your point but it's also the lack of money we spend compared to money coming in from sales and I stand by the fact that January transfer window was a farce. One of the first players to leave any club in the window was VVD and we had the whole month to replace him and didn't. We saw the likes of Walcott, Sturridge, Promes etc not arrive and we end up with Monaco's 3rd choice striker leaving £50 million in someones pocket. I doubt that will be spent in the summer and by that time it'll be conveniently forgotten about. A lot of other teams seemed to be doing good business even with some loans but again we failed to even achieve this.
-
I think the problem is we HAD players of the quality that you mentioned and probably better......Toby, VVD, Wanyama, Mane etc but they have been sold and either not been replaced or been replaced with poorer players. I'm not sure we haven't dipped in with a couple of loan signings like WBA, Swansea, Newcastle did either. Our transfer market business is VERY poor
-
5 wins out of 27 and only WBA have a worse win record - agreed there is no credit to be given. The only thing to be given is the SACK!

Wigan beat Bournemouth, West Spam and Man City without conceding a goal. Can miracles happen and Saints score?
