How a Billionaire Heiress Cracked the Premier League Boys Club
stu0x replied to trousers's topic in The Saints
Technically Norwich aren't in the Premier League until the first day of next season. Delia also isn't the owner - she's the joint majority shareholder (with her husband) in a plc. So no, it isn't really. -
Thought about waiting for the Europe League match, but if you look at the pool of potential opponents it's very likely to be against a team you've never heard of and somewhere that is going to be an absolute pain to get to.

Flights and hotel booked, just need the tickets to come out now! Flying into Amsterdam on the morning of the 23rd, day there, train to Rotterdam for the match, post match drinks and sleep. Flights back late on the 24th

Never mind, just found it!

Is there a list somewhere of our preseason games? Keen to go to one and have been looking at Feyenoord but might be a bit of a nightmare logistically, so would like to look at all the options

Other than the fact that the Police don't build speed humps or install speed cameras, and they don't benefit in any way from speeding fines, it's solid proof.

They all work for a few seconds but then kick you out. (It would help immensely if you used CODE tags to stop url concatenation by the way)

If the CPS had been prosecuting they'd have dropped the job after the PCMH.

You don't need to be an expert - this is first day contract stuff. As above, when you are shopping, technically the customer makes the offer to enter into a contract at the till, which the shop accepts (or not) - not the other way round. So legally they are perfectly entitled not to sell you goods at an advertised price, special offer or not.

Poor choice of analogy - because she's done exactly that via her twin lapdogs of Winsor and Hogan-Howe

You seem to have missed the point entirely. But then, you're a grown man who thinks horrific murders committed in front of crowds of people are shadow government/illuminati conspiracies using crisis actors to subjugate populations. And you've got the photoshopped orange hands to prove it. So I probably shouldn't be surprised at your wholesale lack of both comprehension and perspective.

Aisha was 6 when Mohammed took her for his wife, and 9 when the marriage was 'consummated'. So I wouldn't worry about it.

Lallana completes move to LFC for a fee of around £25m
stu0x replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
How much has the club has changed in that year? Maybe Lallana thinks the club, the vision, the ambition that he bought into when he signed that deal doesn't exist any more? Whatever the arguable pros and cons of the Cortese/Pochettino regime vs the Liebherr/Krueger/etc one (I won't include Koeman as he's barely started), what can't be argued is that the two are like chalk and cheese. If you have a look at this very forum it's full of posters who aren't convinced by our new owner and think the recent changes are a major contributing factor to us losing our best players this summer. So maybe that's not so far from the truth? Maybe Adam was a card carrying member of the Cortese plan, and now it's been well and truly ripped to pieces he doesn't see the point in staying. Or alternatively, how much has his life changed in the last year? He's gone from a bright spark in an unfancied recently promoted team (which was bottom of the league for about 3 months) to an England international, team of the year, and playing for the 'hipsters choice' Premier League team. Perhaps more importantly, his personal life has changed as well. Is it a real surprise that the things he thought were most important to him a year ago aren't necessarily the same now? I know that the things I thought were important before having my son very quickly became less so afterwards. At the end of the day, Adam Lallana is not a Saints fan. He's an employee. Of course the thing most important to him are the terms of that employment. If everyone on here can honestly say they've never looked for a new job whilst at their old one, or never towed the company line in public in order to improve their own standing, or never told a new employer how much you've been looking forward to working with them, then you can probably cast the first stone. If not, it's probably more than a bit hypocritical. Funny thing though... If he's so overrated and average, and such a c-unit, why is everyone getting so upset at him going? -

Wow Its always the ones you love who hurt you most eh? The spectacular lack of perspective is what is most impressive. He played for Saints for a long time, he did well, he's moved on. That's it. Yes it's gutting, but more as a reflection of the general trend at the moment than anything else. What's funny is how all of a sudden Alex Crook is some kind of prophet, when 2 weeks ago he was a bull****ter. I guess those journos are only lying scumbags when they're saying something you don't want to hear. As for the *****ing and moaning about his interview - I look forward to the vitriolic ranting when Tadic gives his first interview to Saints OS and doesn't spend his time talking about how he wanted to stay with Twente really. Seriously, some of you need to take a good look at yourselves. You're (in the main) grown men. Stop behaving like toddlers. -

As an ex student I would endorse this heartily, although apparently it's improved immeasurably since I was there. Great campus, dreadful city. Out of interest, what made him choose that course? Got a particular career in mind, or just chose something that sounded interesting?

He wasn't a junior accountant - he was the CFO. The financial buck stops with him, whichever way you cut it. Either he allowed the club to get into a perilous financial state, in which case it's his fault. Or he allowed someone else to do it on his watch. Or of course the third option is the financial situation is nowhere near as bad as was made out, and that whole bizarre interview was a (badly judged) attempt to soften the blow when the sales started...

BBC - Trojan Horse: 25 schools probed over alleged takeover plot
stu0x replied to holepuncture's topic in The Lounge
Yes it is. It's bigoted ignorant nonsense. What's more, both verbal and duncan have spelt it out for you why. Maybe open a book, or if that's too much of a stretch, try Wikipedia? Or do you actually think that a quarter of the world's population are radical takfiri jihadists? -
Who has an unquestionably better partnership? Not two better players, but two players who play more effectively together?
