  1. And bring back the quality Air Florida Sponsorship!
  2. Just followed the Aussie saints twitter feed COYR! @AussieSaintsSAS
  3. Like the original poster I also live in Australia. Based in Perth I often get compliments on my Saints shirt either from fellow Saints who are ex pats or from ex-pats who appreciate the style of football Saints play (I am sure West Ham and Stoke Fans dont get the same compliments). I think the global presence of Mr Murdoch and the live access to games here in Australia and particularly Asia as a whole will do no harm for the global brand of Saints. Granted we cant compete with the likes of Aresenal, Liverpool and Man U in terms of historical success and assoiciated Fan Base but I have also seen a large number of Chelsea and Man City shirts - their success has been much more recent.
  4. anyone else see this on the bbc website: Asked if he had spoken to watching Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger he said: No I haven't, the boss does clever things and he'll always be watching. I've got to try to impress him with every chance I get. It's been a mad year for me, but any young player could learn from what I've done. Two and a half years ago I nearly got released by Southampton, and did not get offered a scholarship never mind a professional contract not entirely sure that last bit is correct is it?
  5. BBC website is saying that Lambert has resigned from Norwich and is talking to Aston Villa. This time next season I sincerely hop Adkins has had a great season and is being lined up for job offers elsewhere only for both NC and NA to come out and say that NA is part of a five year plan to get Saints in to the Champions league :-)
  6. I was asked by a Blackburn fan this week whether I thought there were 3 teams that Saints could finish above in the premier league as he believed that we would end up getting relegated and Blackburn would come straight back up again. I disagreed with him and even before Rodgers left Swansea I listed the following who I believe will finish below Saints: Norwich QPR West Brom Aston Villa Swansea Wigan Stoke Sunderland West Ham Mid Table safety for Saints!
  7. why is chaplow going the other way???
  8. what exactly is there on the negative side to being in the Premier League?
  9. I have been living in Perth for just over 4 years. The quality of A-league is at best League 1 standard. Robbie Fowler last season and the season before stood out even when well past his prime.
  10. Nonsense
  11. Mid table obscurity based on our home form over the past couple of seasons should be achievable, a relegation fight will hopefully not be in the new 5 year plan
  12. I just voted for them both twice
  13. being selfish Perth, Australia please
  14. Terrible idea next you will want Cheerleaders and people going up and down the aisles selling pop-corn and hotdogs!!!
  15. Agree - sorry just posted almost the same post
  16. were there really that many people that were convinced Sir Ricky would fail in the Championship?
  17. 50-60k stadium would make SMS the 3rd largest stadium in premiership after Emirates and Old Trafford. Cant see there being sufficient demand in the area for a stadium of 60k (even if PFC go under- you wont suddenly get 18,000 extra saints fans traveliing from Poopey every match). Structurally I am sure it has been said before that the current site could not faciliate a 60,000 seater stadium
  18. Bring back wayne bridge?
  19. the guy in the dressing room was Neil Shipperley and Razor Ruddock combined
  20. some ideas on the umbro website, the team of the month is Canada and their kit is predominantly Red White and Black, would be great to stand out and be different from Stoke and Sunderland in the Premier League. http://www.umbro.com/#/teams/?locale=en_GBtential
  21. The big fella that he mentions that offered to put him on his shoulders, is that the same big fella that managed to get in the dressing room and dance around as part of the post match celebrations?
  22. How can this have been done to death? Saints only got back in to the Premiership On Saturday! Also Hodgson only got appointed yesterday
  23. West Ham as a club ( the manager in particular) and the fans I have met seem to have an ingrained assumption that they belong in the PL. As a Saints fan Saints have earned that right this year by scoring more goals than any other team in the league and being the most consistent performer - not outside top 2 all season. I hope West Ham falter in the play offs, and have always liked the way that Ian Holloway comes across. Would be entertaining to have him/Blackpool in the spotlights of the PL again. Also gives Saints the chance to avenge the away defeat of this season where saints didnt seem to turn up.
  24. With Rooney guaranteed to miss out on Englands initial matches could the new England boss be tempted to take a 'punt' on Ricky? Lallana has also impressed at Championship level but is less likely to be given an opportunity due to age and experience of others that may get the nod ahead of him.
  25. not an obsession, just wondering. Anyway Saints last visit to the Championship was on the donward spiral from the glory days of premiership football, much darker days with Lowe still in charge, not an exciting squad with potential that could actually have a chance of getting to the playoffs!
