He got another hatrick in a 4-1 stuffing of the bar codes. Mark Dennis scored a beautiful chip in that game as well

Milton Keynes rallying call :-) Shame
Chorlton replied to brianoneils slidingtackle's topic in The Saints
I have heard fans from a lot of the London clubs call us Scummers. Plus the other clubs along the South Coast. Fans pick up on nicknames and use it. I guess it is the next step from fans singing "Play up P*mpey" trying to wind us up, or such things as our fans singing "Bubbles" at Millwall. Which I still cringe about. -
Yeh, they are. But just as a word of warning, when we played away away at Bristol City last season, they tried to tell me that they weren't doing 4 for 2 tickets as they knew that Saints were playing in Bristol. I had already got my tickets when I had the conversation and they said that I should give them back and get a refund. Obviously I didn't, and the guard on the train couldn't have cared less, but worth bearing in mind. On a 4 for 2, it is just short of £17 each

How did you manage to choose your seat online? I have never been able to get mine

I don't know, but if there is any sort of agreement in principle, then the potentail new owners may clear the HMRC debt if they lose the case.
-
Unless they are taken over. Which is pretty likely to happen.
-
It could well be that things have gone a bit quieter down there, and people have not left (yet) as there IS something in these take over rumours. An ITK Skate I work with seems to think they have been talking for a few days now, though it is not certain to happen.
-
Friends who were at Fratton today have said that there are rumours of new investment. Don't know how true or how likely, but I have always thought something would happen for them. Think this next week is pretty crucial for them
-
If by some chance these rumours from Corp are correct, then a lot of people on here are going to get slaughtered by him.... Think the next week will be make or break for the skates.

Our kids school in Winch was open yesterday as the head arranged for a few teachers to spend the night at her house so that they would be able to get in to school easily. Then a load of paents complained as it was one of the only schools open and they wanted their kids to be off. Then it was shut today and all the local kids went up to the school to go sledging.

What news on ticket sales for the Luton match
Chorlton replied to brianoneils slidingtackle's topic in The Saints
If they are coming to football after an expensive month for a match against a non league side, I am not sure they can be called Plastics to be fair. -
I went to a fantastic Titanic exhibition in Valencia though this it may have been a travelling exhibition. It was odd being in a city with no inks to the ship when there is next to nothing in Southampton, so hope this comes off. One of the exhibits was a huge block of ice which is kept at the temperature that the sea apparently was that night. You have to see how long you can keep your hand on it. Amazing how anyone that went in the sea survived (assuming some did?)

Assuming they are still going and don't have points deducted, I think Pompey will stay up. There are worse sides than them. But what on Earth has happened to Liverpool? They are a pale shadow of their former selves. Take Gerrard & Torres out of their side and they are no better than Birmingham (for example)
-
Interesting points and I agree to a large extent, though for Saints fans, I think you have to add the name of Le Tiss. he IS a legend to us and many other fans. But as for conduct off the pitch, wasn't there an incident involving Sir Bobby Charlton and ticket touting at some point? It is ringing a vague bell somewhere. I am not denying he is a legend, but perhaps it shows that legends can make mistakes and be forgiven?

I am with you on that. He is not actually a pompey fan either. Anybody on ITV is automatically sh*t, but Earle, Townsend and that bloke who always presents from pitch side wearing a scarf deserve special abuse. Oooh, so does Clive Tyldesley (my son is playing his DS game at the moment with Tyldesley even winding me up with his commentary on there) Used to like Motty, but frankly, he is a tiny bit mental now and should be in a home. And Garry Birltes is starting to annoy me as well. Do like Jonathan Pearce, martin Tiler and a few others who I can't recall at the moment though
-
Fair post. And I am still think something will happen for the Skates (though I am not basing that on anything, I just think it will!). I want Pompey to be below us in the league. I don't want them to cease to exist.
-
Let's hope they have good drainage at Walsall, as the weather looks pretty crap for the next few days.
-
Thought Puyol was superb at the back for Barca. Real will push Barca very close this season (and Seville have looked good at times as well)
-
Brentford away. As think we were meant to be playing there that day anyway I have no idea if they are still in it or I am correct on my dates) Would rather not Pompey as they are still Prem League and I don't like the thought of losing. And if we are not going to win it, then a trip to Arsenal

Have you got a Network card? If so, getting a return t Banbury on that, and then the ticket from Banbury to New St should save you a few quid. Give it a go

R U 100% Attendance Away From Home?
Chorlton replied to didulike1t's topic in Saints Away Supporters
Did every game in 94/5 and only missed Newcastle (no tickets given to SFC, though some made it) in 93/4. Old & married now but went to Charlton, Stockport & Orient, and going to Walsall & Hartlepool This season has been one of the most enjoyable for years as well, so will hopefully get to a few more aways -
Always liked the Littlest Hobo theme. A nice happy song But a favourite theme tune was Sports Report on Radio 2 on a Saturday post match. As a youngster, if we had won away I used to march triumphantly up & down the living room to the music.
-
trev Smirk a Saints fan? He denies it on The Ugly (despite all the evidence we have). But then he is banned from there now anyway
-
I wouldn't even mock him. Would not class him as a football fan at all as nobody can do that and understand the game I have supported Saints all my life but then all my family do. Plus, when I first got into football, we had the European player of the year playing for us and it was only a matter of time till we won the league. Our school year (Weeke School in Winch) was just about all Saints fans, but the years above & below was a mixture. So maybe we were glory hunters?

Is it for our first match after All Saints day?
