Sure there was one about an oilrig.

Ruddock in particular was loving throwing the turf back at everyone. It may even have been that day he stood on the ledge of the Upper West Stand in his underpants. You can keep that image.

Telling young children about a lost loved one...
Chorlton replied to saintscottofthenortham's topic in The Lounge
Wrong time I knoiw, but that did make me chuckle. Anyway, when we lost our middle son, we explained it in many different ways to our eldest, but we were also given books to read to him that explained what had happened in 'nice' ways. -
Pompey fan on twitter mocking us for only having 1700 up there. No, really.

They use the history as a tourist attraction. The Germans have made no secret of their past and have gone out of their way to try to make up for it (which they know can never be done). Our own history has more than its fair share of a shameful past and we still celebrate it, don't we? There is nothing on the tours celebrating their past, but many memorials to the people that were murdered. The people today can't be blamed for the atrocities (and whether the people of the 1930s could is an argument that will rage for a long time). I like to think that we will never fully know the fear of the state where even your own children are brainwashed against you. As an aside, Hitler was never a great fan of Berlin, and Berlin was never a great fan of Hitler. Aaannyway, it is a fantastic city, and pretty cheap for a European capital.

Was there last January. Went on a Third Reich guided tour, which centred around Von Stauffenburg and the plot to assisinate Hitler. A very good tour. Checkpoint Charlie museum is a must, as is going to watch Hertha if they are at home. A better atmosphere than I have seen anywhere in England.

I used to love Subbuteo, though probably played my own rules than the official rules. had loads of accesories for it as all my relatives just bought whatever was out there as it was an easy present to get. I even had some football hooligans for the stand, and remember my mum not being happy with whoever had got them. Still, as with many of my toys, I tired of it in the end and melted many of the players, or crushed them. Them & the star wars figures I destroyed in 'the final battle' would be worth a mint now.

Carles Puyol for me. Grrrr.

I am 38 but still fancy myself as a bit tasty. Can I go in one of the lead coaches? However, I will be travelling from Winchester so our Battle Bus may be on its own anyway.

England Spain for me. I still have faith that one day, I may see a decent England team! But really going to this one in the hope that Spain play a few decent players (squad looks good at the moment, before all the inevitable pull outs), and because for me & the boy the tickets only came to £30

When playing a team with 10 men in particular, passing amongst yourselves will tire them out quicker. All the time we have the ball, they are chasing it. It is what Pep Guardiola preaches, and it works for them.

When did we last score when playing ten men
Chorlton replied to Saint Without a Halo's topic in The Saints
dunno if it was the last time, but we did at home to Hartlepool last season -
maybe they were trying to rob some stocking masks?

Hands up...... whose been upsetting brighton fans again?

I would imagine they are just bored with the normal, predictable crap that gets chanted at them. I always found their comeback of "You're too ugly to be gay" quite a bit funnier anyway. -
I was at the Liverpool game, but that was the only one I went to. I think I remember Keith Legg saying that he went to the away game at Liverpool. That is true madness!

I think Red Nev is great on Sky, though think he is better in the studio than the commentary box. Would certainly rather listen to him than someone like Garry Birtles or Mark Lawrenson, neither of whom actually seem to enjoy football that much. I wonder if the excellent Terry Gibson will be 'promoted' from Sky's La Liga coverage to the Premier League (though I doubt it, and I think he is better off on La Liga anyway)

Yeh, been there a few times (other than football). Fantastic city with great architecture, and great nightlife.

I guess after years of strife at the club Saints fans are desparate for things to be good and yeah results have gone well for us. But the behind scenes stuff has been less than palitable and lacking in anything positive for Saints as a club. The media, ex players treated wrong and our club being known as a pain in the arse to deal with is not good. This as well as season ticket holders being treated wrong with even petty things like paying for parking whilst spending a small fortune to the box office etc etc. Its ok being on the bus and enjoying the ride that does not mean the club should be immune to critisism(sp).

I wonder !!!!! The player that gave me the best years of being a Saints fan I cant think why, as well as being loyal and always speaking up for Saints what an unworthy player. So he cocked up abit so what he always has Saints best interests at heart.

Yeh, that was Eastside Travel. Some great away trips
-
Eastside did start using the Princess Summerbee coaches, but as you say, they died a death when alcohol was found on board on more than one occassion. Think there was bad feeling after a failed planned trip to the 94 World Cup. Think the guy who ran Eastside had big dreams but small pockets. I have used the Travel Club twice in the last 15 years. One was an evening match at Newcastle where the first service station stop was Newbury for 40 mins FFS, and the onboard entertainment was some Frenech subtitled film on a small TV at the front of the coach. We also had an hours stop at Washington Services but luckily I found a pub round the back of those services. The other time was Wolves away when we won 6-0. Last minute decision to go after coming out of hospital and used the free season ticket voucher. We were about 12 miles from Wolverhampton at 1230, so stopped for 75 mins so we wouldn't be too early for Police escort. Not the travel clubs fault, but very annoying.

A tool for maybe having a differant opinion as you why thank you. Can you put a link to that quote? So what did you think when Rupert was swanning around in his RL kit a disgrace probably. But its ok we cant question things because at the moment we have done well. I cant wait to see your opinions when we go through a bad patch.

Me thinks he likes the attention abit to much. He saved the club??? mmm Markus's money not his money but hey he gets a great salary though. He is just an employee. I love what we have achieved but ffs I thought he liked to keep things quiet and get on with his stuff.

Think their starting XI is actually pretty strong. Hope some of the comments from Saints fans don't come back to bite us on our collective arses in December.

Yep, sine songs transferred from my phone (purchased) and some other CDs which I have uploaded. If I manually transfer stuff, I will lose everything on the phone. I can live with that as can put most of it back, but would I lose contyact numbers as well, or just music/apps? I guess I may need to nip in to the Apple Store.
