One reference demonstrates your ignorance of a great game, "Rugby Union played and supported almost exclusively by the upper & middle classes" you have obviously never been to many, if any rugby matches, try Gloucetser v Bath espeicially in the shed at Kingsholm or any Welsh game. As to the impact on the pitch I expect 2 games so it wont even notice. This is good news it can only raise the clubs profile.

I really like this idea, it has two great advantages; for those of us who are unable to get to enough matches to justify a season ticket it means we pay up front , its money in the bank for the club and secondly it would provide additioanal motivation (as if any should be needed) to attend games wahtever the current performance. As I commented on the membership thread having something in my pocket that says 'yes I am a commited saints supporter' is important to me and this idea is at least one step up from memberships.

Yes please apart from tiring in the second half he was very good value and would do a good job in the coming season.

Me and the nipper will be there

Our two most succesful managers the late great TB and LM had little fame or experience prior to being appointed. Theres only on way top get bums on seats and keep them there and thats winning.

Lost for words WHOPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Nowhere, he is not giving us his money he is buying us, we will have to wait and see how much he is willing to invest, I am very hopeful that it will be signifcant.

Trouble with this approach is why would someone invest alimited amount if they are not going to support the team and a return to better days. Selling players will niot deliver any ROI, stabilty just might and that has to be te key now.

We belong where our performance takes us, whilst off the field S**t hasnt helped like all clubs its all sadly part of the real football world. I only thought supporters of Utd, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal belived in divine right! Hutch's realism is very refreshing.

what happens if Pinacle/MLT retain Wotte as manager
moonraker replied to Thedelldays's topic in The Saints
YES, 'simples' -
Without doubt one of the greatest players ever to pull on the red and white. I have never seen another player with such passing accuracy, The combination of Paine and Ron Davis was awesome, Terry’s accuracy and Ron’s heading power was the undoing of many defences, add one John Sydenham into the mix and it made for a fantastic footballing spectacle. The honour is fully deserved and well overdue.

Any appointment to the board should be based solely on individuals ability to deliver success and stability, not the size of ones wallet or indeed their passion as a fan. To date Leon’s record, as a fan has been exemplary his board record however can be questioned, whether it is a good thing or not will depend on the portfolio he is given.

MEng from University of Hertfordshire, which he still has. Good choice been athere and done it, success and failure but given the right backing more likley to succeed than not.

What i meant to say was we need a manager with experince of the English league not specifically and English manager

To fulfil the link with History with someone who is Red and White to the core and has coaching ability but with no direct links to the Lowe era or relegation Nick Holmes seems to fit the bill. As an assitant to a proven English league manager I beleive he would bring back, with MLT, much of the spirit of Southmapton FC.

Just a point of clarity he won the promotions, as coach, with TEAM Bath (Not Bath City). Team Bath are/were the university based team and will due to non league rules have be een disbanded this season. He is a good call Team Bath were built on picking up young players who just failed to make the grade in the professional ranks and were offered a combined sports and degree place at Bath. Saturday 25th April - Team Bath bowed out of football history today with their last Blue Square Conference South match after a ten year period described by manager, Ged Roddy, as “an incredible journey”. “I wouldn’t have missed any of it”, said Roddy. “There have been some incredible high points, including our moment of making FA Cup history as the first University side in 122 years to reach the first round proper of the FA Cup back in 2002?. “Literally hundreds of lads have pulled on the blue and gold shirt in those years and played with pride. I would like to thank each and every one of you”.

Professionally cautious, to often times fans are promised the world only to get a kick in **lls.

I never cease to be amazed at the self righteous fan police. Whilst I am sure that not all of them are under 25, single, no kids, living within the city, the tone and style of their posts would indicate this profile to be the most prevalent. If attendance is a key guide I am a plastic only 3 games this season, despite over 45 years of support behind me. Why so few visits, I have a round trip of 160 miles to home games, I have family who don’t all share my passion and I also enjoy the egg chasing game and am a season ticket holder at Bath (I missed Saturdays top of the table game to support my football club in its hour of need) I took my eight year old, his 8th game, who said on Saturday when I explained the problems we have, "they can have all my money", he hasn’t taken his new shirt off since Saturday. He is of course currently a plastic, but watch out the self appointed fan police, in 10 years time he will be in the Northam setting the rules for the married over 35’s with kids who live outside the city and don’t quite share his youthful and admirable passion for our fantastic club, you never know some of you may have grown up by then and will be one of his targets.

No pseudo identities, I am keen 'voyeur' but as someone who is distant from Southampton with no direct personal contacts and not in the know I keep out of things I have no factual knowledge off. That does not stop me from loving the club I have supported for over 40 years and championing those who express my feelings

The best post I have read on here for years a true fan of SFC, blinkered and focused on one thing, the club, not on personal animosity and one upmanship.

It seems that the whole debt scenario revolves around the bank. My understanding of most football clubs who have gone into administration is that it is A N Other creditor (the tax man, laundry caterers,) who call in the debts and force administration, the bank would gain little from administration especially where a business still has a marketable product. So whilst unaware of the facts it seems to me that an acceptable plan has been put in place and that in all likelihood the plan is based on a number of scenarios including various levels of attendance.

SaintRobbie wrote An important point. The fact that this thread has been read 27000 odd times demonstrates one thing to me... Fans are very keen to see a takeover. A buyout and takeover is the only real optimism tablet left for supporters since Lowe's return. In my case totally wrong the only thing i am keen to see is a united club moving forwards. A take over is merely one of the current items of interest and the most unlikly but I like to peruse all threads relating to my club.

The decision by SFC or indeed any venue to bar an individual must remain with those who have a duty to ensure the safety of all employees and users of their venue and not on the criminal justice system. If the burden of proof required by the criminal justice system were applied to all decisions made by those who have a duty of care for such venues then all the venues would be shut down within a week.

2 -2 sounds good and realistic
