Sure is. Hopefully Moyes gets taken by someone else soon!

Fell short. None of the top order have got going in the t20 so far. Hard foor Afridi, Sammy etc to bail us out each time.
-
Afridi and Sammy going well. Some crazy hitting.

There is a role in between a midfielder and a striker. He creates stacks of opportunities. Record compares very well to those players (mostly so called superstars) that I mentioned. I definitely wouldn't trade him in for a lump of a striker. Always good watching creative, innovative players.
-
I didn't. I said Mane isn't one.

Hants are a shambles this season, with bat and ball even accounting for the injuries.

I get what you mean, but I think there is a difference between how people view football on here, when they speak with friends etc and how they live the rest of their life. When people talk of a disaster in football terms its obviously different to serious life events or natural disasters. Football is a game of opinions, emotional, irrationality depending on who you support etc. If you took that away it would be quite boring and forums like this would be resigned to talking about kits and sponsors.

I was meaning more in terms of ability in his time at Saints rather than always output. Surely a better player than Beattie or Pahars? Also troubles the best teams & defenders in the league not a flat track bully.
-
I get that but I wouldn't view Mane as a striker/centre forward like Deeney, Pelle or Lambert. He should more be compared stats wise with the likes of Sterling, Martial, Hazard, Lamela, Walcott, Sanchez etc His goal record is up there with the best of those and the amount he has missed suggests he would be capable, with a little improvement, of scoring 15-20 PL goals which would be excellent for someone who isn't a striker.
-
Forgot Pahars. He was great to watch and a much better finisher than Mane but I don't think quite had the same dynamism. Massive kudos to Saints for spotting and bringing in Mane. Bet a few others were watching and wish they had now.

In terms of comparison to Saints attackers at the top level league across your time watching Saints where would you put Sadio? For me, since I started watching Saints in the early 90s he would be very high. Obviously MLT is a one off Saints legend so am excluding him for this purpose. Mane is one of those players who gets me off my seat when he gets the ball, even if just inside the opposition half. He has the ability to beat a man from a standing start, exceptional 1vs 1 with a defender and generally solid finisher (although can certainly improve when he has more time to think about it). Bale is obviously someone who will probably go down as one of the best players to ever play for Saints but whilst here he was a left back and has obviously improved massively since he left. Lambert massively influential and has a status far above what Mane will at Saints but you would be hard pushed to say Lambert is actually better than Mane. Otherwise there are players who have done really well for us (Beattie, Lallana etc in my era) but not sure many who have the same ability as Mane has. Be interested to see how he is viewed ability wise? I think he could reach the type of level Bale is at now if he keeps his head right.

Saints announce Virgin Media as new main club sponsor
Saint Charlie replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Literally all that matters with a sponsor is the amount of money they put up. -
Fair enough. I think large amounts of the fanbase would be quite disappointed with Moyes after Pochettino and Koeman. He would be low down on my list. Might end up doing a good job but a bit of a dampener ahead of what should be an exciting season.
-
Of course its a personal opinion. I doubt though that you would find many PL fans who think Moyes is better than Koeman and probably none who think he is better than Pochettino. Do you rate Moyes higher than those two?
-
Because he is likely going to moneybags PSG.
-
Pochettino and Koeman are miles better than Moyes. Take him and IMO its a backwards step. I will (and many others I suspect) be really disappointed if we lost Koeman and brought in Moyes.
-
Nobody said he is gospel but he has a track record of being right and if he says he would be shocked if Pellegrini was appointed then I would say its good info. Besides, its clear Pellegrini isn't the profile we are seeking anyway.

Interested enough to reply to 90% of my posts saying how uninterested you are. Its a link to an article, feel free to click or leave as you please. Its also not a negative article about Saints, its more a positive one about Everton. In fact...it barely mentions Saints.

Big brand, albeit rep for poor customer service. But all that matters is the dough on offer so if its a good financial deal then great. Now off for a nice Chang beer in the sun. -
No worries. Up to you of course.
