Yeah they seem in just as bad if not worse a financial position as us. I think Ras will go soon but I wouldnt have thought to Watford
-
Poortvliet basically said tonight that Skacel plus a few others arent committed to the club and he thinks that they don't give their all.
-
As Jan said tonight, his heart and head arent at Saints, we need committed players! Plus the guy only scored 3 goals lasyt season. If we keep John and let Rasiak (plus Saga) go then thats fine by me, all te better if we buy a cheap striker with potential from somewhere.

Thing that came across most to me was how much Jan believes in the young players. Interesting that he said they play well as a unit and that when one or more arent playing, the team doesnt play how he wants them too...seemed to hint the xperienced players werent ale to fit the system. He also basically said that Saga, Rasiak and Skacel lack the desire to play for team, and dont have the hunger of the youngsters. He seemed to suggest that as they earn loads of money they arent really bothered and he doesnt want players like that. Jan is a really impressive guy, the type where when he speaks you actually want to listen...He seems quite imposing, very sure of himself, not a yes man by any means and he certainly has a stature about him that would command respect. He seems like he is demanding of players and forthright abou the way he wants them to play, but that if the adhere to his demands he would be a great manager to play for. Also Davies ready in 2 weeks ish and JP thinks Schneiderlin will go right to the top. JP isnt bothered about physical teams and will worry about how we are performing and let other teams worry about us. Killer said on cold, wet nights on bumpy pitches its better to be small, lean and fast than a big heavyweight!

He doesnt want to play for us, would rather have people playing who want to play, Alpine, havent you learnt the lessons of last season....?
-
Having a 'weaker' squad doesnt always mean a team will play worse. Afterall most would hae said we had a better squad than Hull last season. If so called strength of squad settled the table then nobody would watch football.
-
If he is on a pay as you play deal probably not as he won't have got paid yet!
-
Well last season was worse than pear shaped with so called "experienced pros" so lets give it a go and have faith.
-
From BBC: Pretty much what we knew, is nice to read the bolded bit, that style of management shows he knows what he is doing with young players, it is now up to them to justify this faith in them...

Agree keep Sj over the others, he is the best technically.
-
DMG must be gaining confidence after getting a good run, hopefully he can get his first CCC goal quickly and you never know what might happen. We need to get the midfielders scoring though.
-
To be fair most teams would look lightweight against Stoke, any particularly good/weak performances? Good goal for DMG?

It never was paul allen(Takeover thread 1866)

The forum is all the better without their ramblings. All IMHO of course. Most so called ITK people are either too self involved or bitter towards the club about something or other. Just like Euell, we are better off without... -
http://www.stokecityfc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10310~1359103,00.html Stoke report. Despite an even report they suddenly suggest that Stoke got a deserved winner...
-
He had a tough 90mins last Friday. He knows what his limits are. He won't play 46 games this season. Anything above 20 would be great IMO. Killer knows his own body.
-
The result hardly matters, its the performance that counts. Hopefully reports from those at the game will be a good read!
-
Well its good we won't have to face him twice against Reading!
-
http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/news/?page_id=7672 Says he signed until end of 2009. That would suggest it expies half way through a season which is strange but who knows?
-
Hopefully, he certainly isnt stupid so Im sure he does!
-
As you will see from my other posts this is wide of the amrk, I am very optimistic about the season and in full support of JP and the board, just think these are the kind of things to get sorted out, especially as have no money, it would be a shame to lose a good prospect for next to nothing next summer!
-
It might have something to do with a knee injury that he has been battling with for four years.....
-
It would seem Jake Thomson is only on a one year contract, ie it expires next summer. Seeing as he is going to be at worst a very decent player, I certainly hope Saints are trying to extend it, as before we know it he could be linked with bigger and better teams....and tribunals arent kind to smaller clubs!
-
Not really bothered. Saga has flattered to deceive despite what some on here think....

Lowe isnt attending but Cowan is. Lowe had an international commitment with one of this other businesses apparantly.
