  1. Sounds promising anyway. Would imagine he will sign on Monday then.
  2. No way Sunderland would play Drew LB in the Prem. He isnt ready.
  3. A local French paper says basically: After Schneiderlin another French youngster prepares to join Saints. Gasmi, 21, will join on loan with a view to a permanent move of around 1m euros. Gasmi fractured his fifth metartarsal on August 9th and will be unavailable for a month and a half but the english club of the Championship nevetheless want to pursue the loan of a player who has fallen out of favour. Gasmi will today or tomrrow have a medical so the English club can check the exact nature of his injury and will then join Southampton shortly. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ This seems to have appeared in quite a few French papers so seems promising. If he is anywhere near as good as Schneiderlin.....
  4. Saints most prolific U18 striker last season was an unused sub for Newcastle last night after signing for them this summer. Always thought he was a good prospect, there were rumours of offield problems, perhaps this is why we let him go. He was also on trial at Swindon this summer Edit: This provides a few answers: http://www.rivals.net/Forum/pgePosts.aspx?threadId=199216&boardId=103&clubId=55
  5. Im confused. If he is here till Thursday but won't sign anything until after the weekend then how does this work as the window shuts on Monday?
  6. http://oatcakefanzine.proboards27.com/index.cgi?board=Potters&action=display&thread=39610&page=1 Stoke fans thoughts on the saga. To be honest with the hoof ball dross they see they proably wouldnt know what makes a good midfielder. Im sure he would be an adequate squad player. You are bound to be a target for the fans when your Dad is the manager solets give him a chance and judge him after he has actaully played for us.
  7. Yeah how is it known that we are getting another European player? Also, does anyone know if he is an attacking midfielder or wide player? This should also help Schneiderlin to settle in etc...
  8. So true, especially when most other clubs have signed someone on loan for a month initially., at least we are forward thinking. If TP and JC play well for us, either their loans will be extended until the season or thei clubs will want them back as is their perrogative. Chill.
  9. Only Cork and Pekhart are on loan until Jan I believe. Don't worry this is perfectly normal.
  10. All the teams we have played so far this season have played against us aiming to win. They have played with two or more strikers and probably believed they could win. This gives us more space to exploit. Blackpool will probably pack the midfield, make it very scrappy, play 4-5-1 and aim for a point. This makes them harder to break down and therefore harder to beat. If we are patient then we should be able to out pass them. If we can overcome this hurdle, which has previously been our downfall, then the season would be looking very bright indeed.
  11. If he signs its an extra body and lets give him a chance rather than just write him off.
  12. Thought Cork was superb, brings the ball out of defence superbly and would make a great combo with Killer, or a super RB. Lallana is the type of player that if he was Spanish and played in Spain would be in their U21 squad easily and pushing for full squad, but not really appreciated in Britain. Lee Holmes gets better and better, great first touch, never gives up and good finisher. Wotton was great, constantly talking, played it simple and got stuck in very well. He must have been unpopular with Brum as they tried to break his leg twice!
  13. I wouldnt normally go to this game, and despite having had numerous season tickets have never been to a Carling/League cup game before. However, due to the price and way the team is playing I didnt want to miss out. At the end of the day its a tenner to see the team you love.
  14. I think Wotton could slot in alongside Cork at CB. Thomas is well out of favour, can't see him playing at all.
  15. Echo says both Perry and Svensson rested and White on bench but otherwise strong lineup.
  16. LOL its like "are you in the Scooby camp or the Alpine camp?" Im a Scooby follower myself! : Love the reference to the "Golden duo" haha.
  17. So he can just mope about the pitch not giving a ****?
  18. To not go to Saints because of Rupert Lowe is quite frankly ludicrous. How many teams fans love their chairman? Those same fans who don't go because of Lowe are also making his stay at the club need to be longer so its quite bizarre.
  19. Well Killer won't play so maybe Cork or Wotton to come in but I think it will be similar to Sat, may as well try to carry the momentum on and will be a tough game! No point using Skacel, Euell IMO. If any changes people like Dyer, Mills etc may get a run out.
  20. Suprised they have ditched the 4-5-1 that served them so well. Their midfield looks unbalanced and bar Diarra lacking in any ability.
  21. He was crap and always injured, the kind of play that sums up the last couple of seasons.
  22. Lets just ****ing shut up about Burely, he has long gone and lets focus on the future under JP. Alpine, please try not to ruin every threadf HTH
  23. From a Derby angle: http://www.thisisderbyshire.co.uk/football/Alarming-times-Rams-outclassed-Saints/article-287115-detail/article.html
  24. Was there last night, Holder is ridiculous at the moment! Any other Saints fans travel to many Pirates meetings?
