  2. Shame he had a 3rd place but at least he won the run off at the last bend! 2nd place is pretty good.

  4. Rubbish keyboard!
  5. Well there is no way Davies would have got our youngsters being competitive in the CCC, he would have just wanted to buy a new set of player which we can't do.
  6. Talking up the abilities of our players (Lallana must feel like a world beater after Jan's comments today on the OS) and clearly believing in our players. Not overlooking them in favour of 30+ has beens. (Was Lallana really not good enough to play last season?) Feeling elated after a win, hurt after a loss, he clearly cares about the club and the players, who he has faith in (even if a certain group of fans don't). Bringing in young, hungry, technical players eager to find their way in the game/proove others wrong. So far some very canny signings. Blending this with a splash of experience, Kelvin, Killer, Chris Perry and Wotton, helping keep feet firmly on the ground, good pros who have made the best of their talents. Many of our youngsters will achieve better things if they follow the professional examples of the above, who whilst not world beaters have made good careers out of honesty and endevour. Football as it should be played in its purest form, when we win its excellent, when we lose, a learning curve. Refreshing honesty in the media, "we lacked passion" or "must do better" as opposed to mindnumbing cliches "didn't get the rub of the green", "need to bring more players in". No excuses. Clearly improving what we have, nurture not discard, here is your chance, up to you if you take it. Players who appreciate the chance they have been given, Lallana (sharp rise to prominence), McGoldrick (consistent first team run), Holmes, Robertson (get back on track) and for many others a belated chance to show what they can do. A team showing hunger, fitness and a desire to improve, players not simply delaying retirement or seeking a comfort zone and good payday (as with certain players over the last few seasons.) A core of English talent, good team spirit, fighting to prove to the boss they are good enough. For me this season so far, the ups and downs, new stars, better playing style, has made it the most compelling since the cup final days. We won' be in the playoffs but we won't go down. One thing is for sure, every player improves game by game, and that should take us in the right direction. Jan Poortvliet has made far more good decsions that bad. If this continues he will do well for us, and should be our best manager since the Wee Scottish one. Dutch joker? I would say he will have the last laugh! (This is just my opinion, I'm not a Lowe fan, nor do I hate him with a passion often seen on here. As far as I am concerned in the issue of JP he is largely irrelevent).
  7. In the days of official sites the Echo needs to write more thoughtful, creative or informative articles rather than just paraphrasing OS stories.
  8. Someone on BBC Cricket 606 said they had heard a Fletcher/Vaughan rumour!
  9. Poke is at Torquay and Gillett has had a knock which has stopped him playing the last two games!
  10. I can't understand why people make loads of changes to a team that has won 2 on the bounce. Quite clearly the team will be almost the same as the Norwich one, maybe with BWP or White coming in for Pekhart. Certainly no need to change a defence that has kept 3 league clean sheets in a row! Madness.
  11. McGoldrick will play instead of Skacel, otherwise probably right.
  12. 3-1 Jamie White hattrick. Anyone go?
  13. Still none?
  14. James is never as bad as people say he is IMO. He seems to be treated quite harshly.
  15. How good is Chris Holder? Definately a future world champion!
  16. Pulis can't be far away. Him and Gasmi have had a month since they signed and both were injured at least a couple of weeks before that, so mid August. I think we will see them following the international break which provides a great way of integrating them into the squad.
  17. We need someone consistent between 3-5, really havent got that at the moment IMO.
  18. Lots of missed revenue from another game too....
  19. We aren't.
  20. Very harsh IMO.

  22. Dowie said he thought it was a yellow
  23. is a dominant centre half, Darren Moore style to deal with crosses such as those Dexter caused so many problems from. Cork is a good player but he needs to play with a big lump of a CB. EDIT: I mean players who can play 30 odd games a season.
  24. Definate red, late, reckless and dangerous for me. Stupid.
  25. Well I think we should stick with who plays best, and against Birmingham in the cup, he was superb, miles better than Killer has been this season if Im honest. Would be ludicrous not to pick him IMO. Im sure Jan will have him in the side somewhere.
