However, as for reaching a potential deal for Redknapp with Lowe today, Mandaric said: "He (Lowe) is too busy today hunting the ducks - that's more important to him than the football."
-
Haha I didn't actaully do that but it would have saved time. Anyway... Lowe has the prudent businessman's dread of debt and one of his favourite sayings is: "Once you get into debt, the bank manager comes into the club to run the team."
-
Whats your favourite Lowe quotes? Or quotes from others about him? ----------------------------------------------------------------- "The shields are up and the Klingons are shooting at us and every time they land a punch they are sapping our power." ----------------------------------------------------------------- "Of course we will listen to what the supporters have to say, but at the end of the day they support the club but they don't run it." ------------------------------------------------------------------ "We will not be pushed around by a bunch of north London yobbos." ----------------------------------------------------------------- "You tell me if there is anyone else in football by the name of Rupert?" Lets support the administators and let them do their job. We can pack SMS, support the team, and ensure any potential investor knows we have a big fanbase who can fill our stadium. We have got rid of the cancer, lets unite for once.
-
Now we just support the team, try to stay up, and hope some nice rich people want, for some strange reason, to buy Southampton FC.
-
Administrators always are like that. They want people to be shocked into bidding quickly.
-
Not sure. Fry said of course if they are really interested they will still be now....

Solent (sport aside) is bloody crap, a load of loonys talking about gardening and other rubbish!
-
Solent have cut off the conference to talk about it. We want to hear whats going on FFS!!!
-
Interest expressed yesterday, deadline of 7.30pm yest to prove could put money in, that was extended and no proof of funding, hence delay this morning.
-
Debt more than 30m
-
Hopeful of sale but can't be confident.
-
Lowe could buy club but hasnt said he wants to.
-
Distinct difference in law between holding co and football club. Confident they can persuade football league that holding co is separate from football club.
-
want to sell before end of season. very important fans go to matches to ensure FC lasts until end of season and makes club attractive to buyer. clear doubt that FC will contiunue to exist.. needs a buyer as quickly as possible cash available to get to end of season
-
Its live on Solent in a minute 96.1fm.

Wilde and Lowe have just been escorted from the premises

Said on SSN that he left quickly via the back door and sped off in his car haha! -
Sturrock was a big step down from a manager of Strachan's class. We should have brought in someone with a proven Premiership track record. It was a poor appointment.

When our matchday catering and radio station became the envy of other teams worldwide....

There are murmurs already. Plymouth, Notts Forest, Luton and Rotherham mentioned here: http://www.thisisplymouth.co.uk/argyle/Cash-strapped-Saints-set-avoid-mandatory-10-point-deduction/article-866754-detail/article.html http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/football/football_league/article6018369.ece They would have every right to feel agrieved too. Can see an escalation of the Tevez affair in lower league football with more teams expected to go into admin in the summer. Lawsuits will follow if teams aren't docked points for whatever reason. -
I actually think Wotte has the makings of a decent manager. He seems to understand English football in a way that JP didn't. He also seems strict which is a good thing, and fairly adaptable in terms of tactics. That we have oly lost something like 3 in 11 says much about the impact of MW. I think we should support him.
-
Not kicking on after the Cup final season and buying some decent players was a very key moment. WGS wanted Saha and Malbranque, we got McCann (one of the worst signings ever) and Phillips. Cheap options when we had a chance to cement ourselves as a top half team.
-
...the day Gordon Strachan decided to leave. (Complete the sentence in your opinion. Humour welcomed)
-
Confirmed by Wotte on OS that we have taken over his scholarship as Chelsea have too many players. Recommended by Frank Arnesen, Wotte says he is 6'3 left footed CB and will turn pro with us next year. Welcome Jack!

I think the first team since Wotte came in can be accused of much but not a lack of effort. As for the reserves I can't say, but the times we have come from behind away from home show that I think the first team has the desire and committment, its the skill which is questionable. Also, IMO good to hear Wotte kick some arse!
