Lallana possibly going for £5m, which is nice.
Saint Charlie replied to buctootim's topic in The Saints
This thread sums up attitudes to football in England. If Lallana was a player in Spain or Holland he would be lauded because he is a good footballer with technique. In England we look for big, strong, committed etc.... -
Mark Fry isnt stupid, he knows the score. He probably hates Lowe himself!
-
I think everyone knows we hate Lowe (apart from Lowe himself) but I don't think he is going to be coming back!
-
Very impressive at times this year. A well rounded midfielder who can do a bit of everything. Must keep and agree re captaincy.
-
Tony Husband said on Solent on Sat that Fry had told him we would probably find out the indentity of (at least one) bidder at some point this week. South Today basically said the same tonight, things are moving forward and this week will be key.

Wotton injury - the referee nearly had blood on his hands
Saint Charlie replied to Fitzhugh Fella's topic in The Saints
Wotton is a whole hearted player exactly what we need for L1 combined with some creativity and pace. A good leader. -
Dennis Wise has a track recrod of success in that league and is a strong character. We could do far worse than him IMO.
-
Eddie Howe Ian Holloway Paul Ince All worth considering IMO.

http://www.dailyexpress.co.uk/posts/view/97245 Sunday April 26,2009 By John Richardson A CONSORTIUM with substantial financial backing on the verge of taking over stricken Southampton want Alan Shearer as manager. Saints will start next season in League One after the Football League deducted 10 points following the club’s parent company going into administration. Now a consortium involving wealthy local businessmen is putting together a package to *resurrect the south coast club, which has slipped into football’s third tier for the first time since 1960. And the man they want to restore pride on the pitch is current Newcastle United boss Shearer, who started his playing career with Saints. This will present a summer dilemma both for Newcastle owner Mike Ashley and Shearer himself, who is already aware of the interest in him from the consortium. Shearer insists that he only took the Newcastle job for the last eight games of the season, hoping he could inspire his home-town club to stave off relegation to the Championship. But there has been talk that the former England striker could be persuaded to stay on, irrespective of Newcastle’s fate, for at least another season, providing enough cash to buy players is made available to him by Ashley. Now Shearer has been presented with another management option, and at another club which pulls at his heart-strings. The consortium are confident of being given the go-ahead to take over Saints and will be pushing for an answer from Shearer the moment Newcastle’s season has ended. They are promising the former England striker a substantial transfer kitty and the promise of no boardroom interference.

Eddie Howe?
-
Or how much you are willing to waste on a Football Club.
-
So Derry you wouldn't buy any of this Lowe returning stuff? Do you think we will more than likely have foreign owners?
-
No, it is more apt now than ever.
-
Its not that miss that has left us in this situation. If you take out DMG's goals we would be far worse off. For some reason he has become a scapegoat but since Wotte's been in charge DMG has been generally very good. He single handedly won us the Palace game too.

Seems ok. Hopefully they will sort out a good deal. Can you get much in HD on Virgin ie Sky Sports?

Is that you don't with certain packages or you can't because they don't offer it?
-
Does anyone know if you can get Sky Sports 1, 2 and 3 through Virgin media? Currently I have Virgin which has SSN, Sky news etc but want to have Sky Sports. Seeing as I have all the cables etc already installed if i can then I will stick with VM. if not, I will join Sky. Cheers

If we had just one really decent reliable batsmen then we would be in with a title shout IMO.
-
When is North available from? Good start from hants, Cork took 3 wickets in 4 balls, all LBW.
-
Lowe in disguise.
-
I didn't know he had a problem?
-
Totally disagree. He put in some great balls but the strikers movement was none existant. He hardly gave the ball away today.

Also great at keeping the other players concentrating and generally encouraging. They seem to respect him and it was a wholehearted performance from him. Also liked the way he led the applause and fist pumps to the fans at the end.
