Do you think they have already agreed a deal with one of them? Also I assume MLT spoke to Tidsale in a non-SFC capacity, otherwise we would have to ask for permission from Exeter...well if the rules mean anything!!

what happens if Pinacle/MLT retain Wotte as manager

Hey Wild-saint, thanks for the update. If Dowie is one, any idea of the others? Im guessing MLT cannot approach a manager of another club legally as a Saints representative. But he could have had "a word" I guess. Anyone you would guess as an early favourite? Hope one of the 4 was Tisdale! -
£1m for DMG - Why do people think it's such a bad deal?

Goals don't tell the full story always though! Billy Sharp scored 30 in that league but I would have DMG over him any day! -
£1m for DMG - Why do people think it's such a bad deal?

Its great talking if's and could's but all clubs are looking for those players worth 200k who turn out to be great. The reality is they are few and far between. What im getting at is simply that if Lambert and Cox are apparantly worth £2m when they the hell should we settle for half that for a player who has showed he can score goals at CCC level. Those players havent and yet they are being touted at double the fee. I would say IMO that DMG is certainly a miles better player than Lambert, (I havent seen much of Cox) and I would expect DMG, in a decent side in L1 to get 25 goals. We have been brought up on good Prem strikers but we arent at that level anymore. DMG is a far better player than lots on here give him credit for. He scored a comparable amount of goals to lots of the CCC's best strikers in a crap team, often playing in midfield, plus is young (it was his first full season). Im amazed people don't value him higher. -

DMG is so much better than the likes of Lambert anyway. People may not like him as a person or have some weird hatred of him but he is a very promising player who scored a fair few goals, often whilst played as a lone striker or advanced midfielder. I can guarentee know that if we sell him, the replacement would be nowhere near as good. With the prices for others such as Cox, Lambert, Ledley, Blackstock etc £1m is not a good offer, especially as we owe 20% of the fee to Notts Co. Arizona is very much a Saga lover and DMG hater. Well Saga has got loads of good clubs after him hasnt he....strange ofr such an apparantly good player. Oh yes, he had a spell for about 10 games when he was good and that was about 2 years ago! -
The three week period will undoubtedly attract stories like this but im confident things are ok. The reality is virtually anyone knows anything about what is really going on aside from a handful closely involved. A week ago today TL posted his letter and im sure things are progressing well. Those fan sites always post a load of drivel and im sure its no different in this case. Lets just be patient.

We have always played these kind of teams. These early matches are fitness exercises.

Did he say anything else?

I actually hope Wotte stays on at the academy. He has acted with dignity during tough times and I think in that role he would be an asset as long as he is happy to settle for that. It wasnt his fault we went down IMO.

Wild-saint, take no notice of that pillock, thanks for the info as always appreciated.
-
Sounds good. I expect him to be a Chairman Niall Quinn style. Brilliant to get him properly involved, he deserves to be. Hopefully a manager can be selected that he is happy to work with.
-
And if they are being allowed to speak to Wotte then it must be fairly far down the line...
-
Its a good book full of loads of great stories, well worth reading.

Im not convinced it would be anybody so high profile. We are a L1 club remember.

Funny how the Echo have copied it onto their website and have edited out the reference to this website. If this site was down for a week the Echo would be stuggling....

Already Pinnacle et al seem to have made some shrewd decisions. Getting MLT involved is a masterstroke. Communication like this with fans is absolutely vital on a continued basis. Where do I sign for a season ticket?
-
We should try to improve the matchday catering though, it was the envy of the Premiership a mere 5 years ago....;-)

Source? (Not that Im doubting you)

Fair enough but I think that it was a minority (they just tend to be loud and relentless). Well done to Tony Lynam and even more plaudits to come if it all gets completed.

Crouch may be able to dip into his pocket every so often but he hasnt got the money to run the club. And he has never (IMO) shown any kind of nous or ability to suggest he could run one well. Local business man yes, but football club chairman (let alone owner), no thanks.
