He played a fair few games for Brum last season too. IMO is exactly what we need and is a threat from set pieces too.

Certainly not and I am sure he would have signed for them even if we had been financially stable. Perhaps we would have got a slightly higher fee for him in different circumstances but he has deserved the chance to leave in order to play at a higher level.

To be fair, Surman was always going to leave this summer, just like Delph will leave Leeds, Shelvey will leave Charlton and DMG also left us. They need to move their careers on.

Is this worth getting then? There seem to be quite a few interviews on it.

Totally agree. IMO he is a superb talent with so much ability on the ball.

Lallana is so talented, we just need to get the best out of him.

Davis (and Murty, Thomas etc) will lead anyway. I would make Simon Gillett the captain. Been at the club for ages, wholehearted player, would be ideal. Could bring out the best in him with the extra responsibility.

Yeah if still here Schneiderlin could have a great season. He keeps the ball so well. Him and Gillett in the centre would be fine!

Mills looked good when moved to LB and Schneiderlin showed his class when he came on. IMO if we can we should get rid of Rasiak and Saga and bring two strikers in, one with pace+one with physical presence. Also need to get Lallana more involved as he is our most skillful player. Gillett+Murty both looked good, as did Wayne Thomas. We struggled a little when he went off. All in all we did well, certainly no disgrace against a technically good Ajax team. Quite a nice mix of youth+experience today.

Said good appointment, backed by fans. We need to improve defence the most, especially full backs. Also need proven goalscorer. Says we need to be positive and get off to a flier, get the crowd behind us to fly up the league. Its strange how Saints seem to be doing better than Pompey thinks the presenter, with them selling their best players. Standard talksport drivel really. Apparantly Tony Adams might get his own show next year....
