I would play Papa up front. We need some pace up there!
-
I wonder if Papa Waigo has even been to the the club yet? Maybe best for him to get a good load of training before playing anyway.
-
Two great signings today! The next question is how long before we see them in action! Could it be Saturday? These bloody work permits take time though so might be next week. I guess we should find out when Pardew does his pre match interviews tomorrow or Friday.
-
Even if it is Jaidi, what a bloody good signing he would be. A 100 cap defender who has Premiership experience. Him and Trotman would be a formidable partnership!
-
Hopefully Jaidi.

Ah ok well thats not too bad. Still, after the OS said today was looking like being busy it is a bit disappointing that nobody has come in.

Live Deadline Day Transfer Rumours from Daily Echo
Saint Charlie replied to ruddick's topic in The Saints
Did you hear anything about players coming in? -
If I remember correctly the emergency loan 'window' opens a few weeks after the August transfer deadline. Therefore, if we havent brought anyone in today, apart from Jaidi who is a free agent, we cannot get any new players (free agents aside) for a few weeks. If we wanted players in certain positions it would be pretty poor not to get them and have to wait a few more matches before we have them. With the squad already carrying some uncertainty (Schneiderlin, Saga etc), the end of this window seems to have left more questions unanswered than solved. Whilst Lambert was a great signing, if we were only going to spend a certain amount, it seems odd to put all (nearly all) of this towards one player. I am sure we will sign a few emergency loans who will turn into permanent signings in Jan but to be honest we can't even afford to wait for two or three weeks, can we?

Live Deadline Day Transfer Rumours from Daily Echo

Can't believe Pardew would say this (in Echo) without us signing anyone: Pardew said: “We’re using our contacts to try and bring in a striker – I feel we’re a bit light in that area – and maybe a wide player, too. “We’re also looking at finally securing the services of Radhi Jaidi. Surely we will have signed someone and just not announced it yet? -
Be great to get rid of him. He is only interested in money + never scores goals!
-
Solent say Pardew said last night that he is hoping to sign a striker or winger, Jaidi and that Saga may leave on loan!
-
This guy has just come off after 85mins to a standing ovation at St james Park. Looks a great prospect, good luck to him if he has turned his life around.
-
Well lots of people judged him pretty quickly. He obviously has talent, would have been hard for anyone to come into our team last year and show it.

Schneiderlin wants to Leave / Rasiak
Saint Charlie replied to Channon's Sideburns's topic in The Saints
Well Villa bought Fabian Delph for £8m after a good season and some Eng U21 appearances. Oh and Lowe didnt spend much on him, the fee would have been over a number of years and based on us being promoted, him playing for France etc. For Spurs, 2m is nothing and is a good deal. It is also a good deal for us providing it is reinvested and we get a sell on fee because he is a very good player and is still only 19. You can't teach the ability he has and when someone gets the best out of him, he will develop into a top class player. -

Yes the unsettled one that Pardew said after the Millwall game "has more talent thatn 99% of this division". 2m is a good deal for us at this time but Schneiderlin will go onto bigger and better things than any of the players at the club at the moment. He is a good player, thats all. Hence why teams like Spurs are interested in him. -

Just shows you can't tell a potential superb player from an average one. Do you really think he would be linked with prem teams, play for France Youth teams etc if he was average? Do you see clubs queing up for Gillett or James? Against Ajax he looked the only one of our players who was on a level anywhere near them in terms of technique and quality. Fair enough, he hasn't really settled to this style of football, but he has more talent than most of our other players put together. The last laugh will be for the Prem team that buys him for a throwaway amount like 2m. -
Thinking that we can still sign loans which turn into permanent moves in Jan, still sign Jaidi later this week and thinking we have improved game by game and will beat Colchester.
-
No real rumours today so far. Looks like tomorrow will be interesting all over the country.
-
If he is going to go I hope he just goes now. We need to move on and so does he.
-
Hopefully, and seems fairly likely.
-
Bournemouth can't loan anyone.
-
Benitez is a clown. Spurs, Man City, Arsenal, Utd, and Chelsea all have miles better squads and if it wasnt for Torres and Gerrard they would be screwed. Kuyt, Riera, Aurelio, Insua, Lucas, Benayoun, Babel all play regularly for them and would be nowhere near the first team of any of the below clubs. Yet their fans think they have a divine right to win the title....
-
B'mth definately can't loan anyone at the moment. Hope Jaidi comes in. Craddock seems like a good player.
-
Yes, they are unable to loan anyone or even sign free agents! And yes, Feeney looks like a promising player!
-
Don't blame the officials, we should have scored a second goal. Oh wait, we did, and they wrongly cancelled it for offside.
