Rivals/Other Prem clubs transfer thread

Do you rate Deeney above Mane? Or just not rate Mane? -
Why do we still have two threads on the exact same topic even. Poor modding IMO.
-
Team tonight must be our worst T20 XI for years. Barely any proven T20 players and the top 6 is without one standout T20 performer. No point spending the money for Afridi and Sammy when the rest of the side is poor.
-
Like the sound of it although do still feel Pellegrini stands out like a sore thumb as being so different to the others. He wouldn't be progressive IMO.
-
You don't leave Dortmund (having only been there a short time and done ok) to join Southampton. Would be a thousand times more odd than Koeman's move. Shortlist looks good but Emery will seemingly be struck off soon.

Saints announce Virgin Media as new main club sponsor
Saint Charlie replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Haha. I mean going during the game rather than at HT like most people. Presumably to beat the queue to get a ****, overpriced beer or a plastic hot dog rather than wait an hour and get a nice beer or decent bit of food. -
If we really rate Howe as highly as has been made out then I doubt we would just leave it at that. Like Everton didn't with RK. Going to be really interesting to see who we go for! I think we have a very specific set of criteria that the mainstream media will gloss over when linking us with people, so most of the Mirror/Star clickbait stories will be rubbish.
-
Very interesting. Of the names first mentioned only Moyes is still available/hasn't given an indication he doesn't want it. Surely he wouldn't been seen as a good "change of direction"? I think we might see another more unknown (at least in the UK) appointment.

@JBurtTelegraph: Watford reject £15m offer from Leicester City for Troy Deeney and tell them the striker is not for sale. Story on Telegraph Sport soon -
CONFIRMED: Juanmi signs for Real Sociedad

That was a good episode. Watch it back now though and I bet it would seem a bit overly backslappy between Les and Ross Wilson, hyping up the scouting and acqusition of Cedric as a replacement for Clyne and Juanmi as an exciting talent. -

I just watch the game then do the rest after. -
CONFIRMED: Juanmi signs for Real Sociedad

I'm sure he was allowed to train every day. He was the least suited of a few signings that struggled with the tempo and physicality of the PL. Hopefully we learn for this summer. -

@DeanJonesBR: Leicester are bidding for Troy Deeney irrelevant of what happens with Vardy. Want him even if Vardy stays -
Definitely seems to fit our profile. Only obvious missing bit is no experience in one of the good European leagues, but philosophy wise looks a good fit.
-
Sounds like a Saints candidate!
-
Bit of an odd one. Most of those teams dominate in the league so whilst undeniably good stats, you would expect them. Echo must have got his name from somewhere. Would be interesting to know more style wise.

@MirrorAnderson: Am being told Frank de Boer is not overly keen on Lazio. Lazio have asked him to go on their shortlist, but he wants a Premier League job... @MirrorAnderson: Southampton is the obvious possibility for de Boer, but his camp insist that as of yet there has been no contact with Saints.

I doubt it. Many seem to prioritise checking other scores, buying beer, eating dodgy pies or hot dogs and going to the toilet over watching an hour and a half of football. -
In any club some players will dislike the Manager. We came 6th so it obviously wasn't a poisonous environment and I would imagine in general more woukd be sad to see him go than suddenly delighted. The idea that Mane, sat in Senegal suddenly checks the internet, sees Koeman is leaving and then instantly feels happier, is quite amusing.
-
Agree. The risk backfired. Better to practice what they often preach and just communicate when things are done. Thats why in this case I think it was a genuine surprise to Saints, we were expecting Koeman to be here for at least one more year, and therefore different to the MP situation where they could plan ahead. We monitor Managers all the time but its different monitoring for summer 2017 to suddenly needing someone in 3 weeks time.

I guess Reed would argue that what he has said has been true at the time of speaking. Its naiveity rather than calculated misinformation.
-
Still preferable to Ralph speaking publically about football.
-
By accounts though he WAS looking likely to sign, hence why Reed did the ill fated YT video. Seems we will no be making an imminent appointment also, which backs this up.
-
Is he really slight or physically weak? Havent seen much of him but must be some reason he isnt being snapped up as has some great numbers stats wise.
