  1. Feel for anyone caught up who didn't want to be. Hopefully the Russians get dealt with somehow but hard to see it really. Hopefully the rest of the tournament will be relatively peaceful and the football can be the focus.
  2. Adam Blackmore from Solent saying it basically ties in with most of what he has heard.
  3. Also if true very ruthless from Everton to go behind Albers' back to get what they wanted.
  4. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2016/06/11/the-violence-on-marseilles-streets-is-not-on-the-same-scale-as-i/ This is a good summary.
  5. Team has pretty much already been announced. No Milner, Henderson or Vardy in the XI.
  6. Its everyone really. But as Shurlock said, lots of the English fans don't exactly help themselves do they? Funny how everyone makes excuses for it. Its a load of men behaving like animals, regardless of where they are from.
  7. Apologies forgot you are more experienced in this domain!
  8. This. Plus when you mix all day drinking, sun, football and a few low intelligence tossers with a penchant for chair/bottle throwing its not going to end well.
  9. After the first time maybe you would sense what was happening and just go somewhere else? Perhaps if people didn't throw bottles at the Police they wouldn't need to tear gas anyone?
  10. Sums up the lack of intelligence really for me. Most of them either won't vote or will without knowing why they are doing it.
  11. National team Managers are usually there because either: 1. They don't want to be a Club Manager 2. They are at the end of their career 3. They have had mediocre club management careers and Intl Management is an easier gig to get a big well paid job (see Hodgson) Would be amazed if we were looking at an Intl manager - its basically a different job - and far from a training ground coaching, player improvement job too which is what we are looking for.
  12. He says the last two Managers (presumably their exits) show we should get a British Manager apparently because they are likely to stay longer* - assuming wildly that British people are just inherently more loyal! Utterly bizarre. If anything the last two Managers show we should get more of the same. Much better to have a Manager poached by a bigger/richer club after 2 good years than sacked after 3 years for being ****e. *they are just less successful
  13. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3636401/Everton-vs-Southampton-Ronald-Koeman-moving-bigger-club.html?ITO=1490&ns_mchannel=rss&ns_campaign=1490 Koeman is right to move to Everton because they have more Twitter followers.
  14. Lawrie Mac bumbling on about getting an English Manager like Steve Bruce. Jeez.
  15. http://gianlucadimarzio.com/en/news-en/west-ham-price-for-payet-fixed-and-that-chelsea-enquiry/ West Ham would want £60m for Payet. He is 29 so hard to see anyone paying that surely?
  16. Thanks. They dish those out for fun these days.
  17. Isn't that what separates the sensible fans from the thugs? The thugs want provoking so so they have an excuse to start trouble. Others will just go to a different area or a different bar away from where the trouble is or wouldn't bother going to the same area as the bellends in the first place. Even more so if you travelled regularly then you would know which people to steer clear from. Some of them probably go for a week and spent virtually all day, every day sat around by an Irish Bar drinking rather than seeing what the place they have travelled to has to offer. I don't believe that normal, rational people go away to watch an England (some for their summer holiday), get provoked and then instantly turn into table flipping hooligans reciting their best bits from Football Factory. The people who get involved want to be involved in the main. @talkSPORTDrive: Final tweet tonight. In #Marseille it was aggressive, tear gas etc. Yet round corner you could sit with a beer. That's my experience tonight If you don't want aggro, move away from the aggro.
  18. It has a certain amount of truth to it.
  19. Predictably despressing. Feel for the genuine English people that want to enjoy a tournament. Unfortunately some beered up morons of low intelligence try to ruin it. @talkSPORTDrive: Majority English, lots of locals, a few Russian. English = old thugs out of retirement & young lads looking for the buzz. Hopefully the forceful French Police will deal with anyone causing trouble. Imagine being a 50yr old bloke who can't go abroad to watch football without throwing tables and bottles around shouting "come on then". Pathetic.
  20. ..would be utterly awful and has no chance.
  21. West Ham panicking already: http://www.claretandhugh.info/oh-dimi-that-was-bad-news-for-us-irons/
  22. @Dorselator: For those asking..I understand #lcfc want TWO new strikers, if Vardy stays or not. And bid for #wfc Deeney is nowhere near the £20m reported
  23. Everything I have read on Vitor P is the opposite. He is apparently quiet, not interested in media and happy to be a training ground coach.
  24. (Some) England 'fans' absolutely embarassing themselves again which is a shame.
  25. Did Pereira leave Porto at the end of a contract? Assume he went to Saudi for the money...wonder if he had other offers at the time aside from Everton interest? Guessing he only had a short term Olympiakos deal and left at the end of that. Anyone know if he was linked with anyone else before joining Fenerbache? If he leaves this summer he will have done 2 years at two different clubs then more recently only a year or less at three different clubs. Wonder if that is just ruthless money/managerial position improvement or a struggle to settle?
