Just been into Riley's Sports Bar off Shirley High Street. They have a sign outside saying they show all Saints games and the guy on the door confirmed they will be showing the West Brom game there. Beer £1.99 a pint. You have to 'join' their club but that costs nothing and can be done on arrival on the day apparently. The membership lasts 1 year. I'll be there with my brother. Think we will need at least 40 points
Cumbria Saint replied to Saints boy in Leeds's topic in The Saints
This? If I read it right then 13th is most likely for Saints. Not far from my pre season prediction of 14th. http://www.sportsclubstats.com/England/Premier.html -
My 'pay as you arrive' ticket was right down the front on the right so that's where I was first half and I thought the general atmosphere was poor. So, second half I moved back and into the middle and it was completely different. I really think it depends on just exactly where you happen to be, especially when the turn out is as large as today's was. Around me for the second half the atmosphere was electric and the singing pretty well non stop even before the first goal went in.

I rang Wigan today. They told me we WOULD be able to buy on the day for the Saints end.

I've been clearing out 25 years worth of accumulated possessions including the cupboard holding my old Saints memorabilia. I have available for free: 1974-2004 - over 70 Away Programmes, around 20 Home Programmes including Matt le Tiss Testimonial FA Cup Final (Arsenal) Echo "Echoes of a Century" momento publication Nottingham Forest Football League Cup Final Terry Paine Testimonial Ted Bates Testimonial (1974 – 10p)! Centenary Match Programme Last League Game at the Dell Saints red and white striped scarf - as good as new Page of Saints signatures (including Matt, Dodd, Dave Jones, Williams, Ostenstad) If anyone in Southampton would like them all (not just a few) let me know and I can deliver them when I am down in Southampton next week. They might make a good present for a budding young hagiologist or as a prize in a Saints related competition. John (Cumbria Saint)

We're winning away. We're winning away. How **** must you be. We're winning away. Classic!

Daughter and boyfriend after two tickets. Will pay full price and as they live 5 minutes from QPR ground they will provide a nice lunch before the game too!
-
Anyone know if you can just pay at the turnstile or do you need to get a ticket from the TO first? Thanks.

Another possibility is to find an existing Season Ticket holder who never goes to away games and share the costs of a ST with them. I know that when my aging parents had Season Tickets they never ever attended away games and there must be many others in a similar position. The problem might be finding those people though I guess. Could be worth some investigation though.

Does anyone have a good stream for the match today? Currently in Turkey where BBC is not available. If it was SKY it would be on the bar screens but not BBC I guess. Don't really want to install a VPN so straight url best. Thanks in advance. COYR.

I'll be down in Southampton from Cumbria on Saturday with my brother to visit our aged parents (86 and 82) who have both been avid Saints fans for 60 years. If we can persuade them to watch the game in a Southampton pub where do you reckon will have a good atmosphere but not TOO rowdy? Alternatively, if we can't get them out of the house where will you all be and we'll come along (hopefully for a promotion party)? COYR

Yes, Richardson is injured. My brother has Silver Hospitabilty today and Richardson was their 'guest speaker'. He confirmed he was injured.

Aged 58. First game when I was about 7 with my dad who was a regular. Lived in Bitterne then. For several years it was every home game and reserve game. Then more away games. Moved to Shirley, then Nottingham, South Africa and Cumbria still supporting Saints. Now live on an old sailing boat, currently in Kas, Turkey. Two daughters and one brother (playwright of Herbie and The saints fame) who are all also avid Saints fans. Best days out. Wembley '76 and Cardiff final with both daughters (make the most of today, there won't be many like it)! Thank goodness for skype and SaintsPlayer. John Douch

Good Lord. Stop the highlights at 0.10 just as the teams come out and there is one of our nuns standing between the two teams. However did she get in there? I guess that explains yesterday's 'divine' performance!

Went to St Marys ticket office after the Brighton game to get our Donny tickets to be told they were still only selling to ST holders and could I come back later in the week? Unfortunately not possible as I had driven from Cumbria to see the Brighton game and was going straight back. Asked if I could pick them up from the bus and was told 'probably' but the right person is not here to confirm. Anyway I've done that before and on two occasions they haven't had our tickets with them when the bus arrives. That means pay again on the day and get a refund to the credit card. All very messy. So, on return to Cumbria rang Donny and asked if away tickets would be available on the day and they said 'Yes definitely. Go to the Soccer Centre at the North end of the ground after 1pm and there will be tickets available, but for cash only'. So I guess we don't have much option and that's what we will have to do. Really not good customer service I'm afraid. Still three points on Saturday and I'll forgive 'em all. COYRs

The I am looking forward to not being at Bristol tomorrow thread...
Cumbria Saint replied to 1976_Child's topic in The Saints
Was supposed to be pike fishing on Lake Windermere but with 90mph winds forecast it has just been cancelled. So it's Merrington for me too tomorrow afternoon. Hopefully a 2-0 victory to power me further up the Prediction League! COYRs -
You may remember that earlier this year Philip Douch’s play Herbie and The Saints was performed at The Nuffield Theatre, Southampton and at The Berry, Hedge End where it received universal praise from all who saw it. It tells the story of Saints plunge into and out of administration and the arrival of our saviour Marcus. It culminates in last season’s promotion - all seen through the eyes of a group of internet Saints and our very own tour guide and national celebrity Herbie Taylor. Well, the soundtrack consisting of thirteen Saints songs is now available to listen to for free, and for a small fee is even available to download to your iPod or MP3 player. Some of the songs are absolute classics. We hope that putting the songs on the web like this will allow more people to hear these witty lyrics and catchy tunes. The full songlist is: 1. Heyday - Wembley 76 2. Once Upon A Time – Administration 3. I Am Cortese 4. Do, Do, Do The Micky Channon 5. We Don’t Hate Pompey Really (Yes, We Do) 6. Markus Liebherr 7. Oh When The Saints 8. Round and Round – Fabrice Fernandes 9. Once Upon A Time – Markus’ Death 10. Nigel 11. Frightening – The Hard Men 12. Fair Weather Supporters 13. Heyday – Plymouth 2010 / I’ve Got A Shed My favourite is Frightening. Perhaps we need a poll? If you like it please publicise more widely by whatever mechanism you have available. Oh yes, you can find the songs at Herbie and The Saints. ___________________________________ COYR - John Douch (playwright's brother)

Phew. Just got back to the boat in Kas, Turkey after 20 miles walking in the high hills here. in time, I thought to listen to the game on Saints Player. Only to find the gsame doesn't start for another 2 hours! But does that mean it is being televised? If it's on Sky I might even have time for a shower and a walk into town to find a pub that's showing it.

If you’re a Saints fan there’s an extra pre-season date for your diary this week, as ‘Herbie and the Saints’ comes to Southampton. The play has already been performed to critical acclaim in Stroud and is now about to hit the theatres of Southampton. The play is been performed TONIGHT (Thursday 28th July) at The Berry Theatre in Hedge End and at the Nuffield Studio on Saturday 30th July. Both performances kick off at 7.30pm. Written by Saints supporter Philip Douch and performed by an all-professional cast of talented actors and singers, the play celebrates the transformation in the club’s fortunes over the past two years. Seen through the eyes of four loyal supporters, including a character representing real-life Fan of The Year and stadium guide Herbie Taylor, the play is full of laughter and songs. ‘I wanted to write a piece about the Saints and about what it’s like to be a fan’, says Philip. ‘The ups and downs; the bad days and the good days. So as well as the rocky ride from administration to promotion there are fond and funny memories of the Cup Final, Mick Channon, Gordon Strachan and a selection of ex-Saints as well as grateful thanks to Markus Liebherr.’ With a wide range of specially written songs recalling the appointment of Nigel Adkins and his favourite pet phrases, the extraordinary one-footedness of Fabrice Fernandez, and the frightening tackles of cult heroes like Jimmy Case and Mark Dennis, this is a great night out for anyone who supports the Saints! Tickets (£12 - or £8 concessions) are available in advance or on the night from http://www.theberrytheatre.co.uk (Tel. 01489 799499) and http://www.nuffieldtheatre.co.uk (Tel. 023 8067 1771).

Interview with Adkins says that Davis will play in second game and Lambert has a VERY slight twinge in his back and not to be risked.
