you are right, i had £2 on saints to win 2-1. Not only did we not need a goal, neither did they, **** ****s.

Lambert is a fat, useless, lazy waste of space, he's now gone one game without scoring and clearly doesn't want to be here as he did FA today apart from play Llanna in with a great ball and be a constant threat to the Norwich back four, why Pardew picks a player with an average of a goal every 1.5 games is beyond me. If a League two side offer £50 for him we should bite their hand off.

i'm liking Pardew more every week, very honest, always seems to be striving to make the team better and talks a lot of sense. Also seems to like it here and has a big respect for the fans and the club which is great to see from someone who has managed at a much higher level.

top bloke, i remember going on a school trip to the Dell when i was about 12 and he was doing some extra training in the afternoon running round the pitch etc to as he was on his way back from injury. When we were being shown round the changing rooms etc he came over and asked the teacher and Alan Smith who was the Saints Community development officer at the time if we would like some autographs and gave us a bit of chat about life as a pro footballer. Remember that as if it was yesterday even if it was 20 odd years ago and thoght then what a nice bloke, instantly became one of my favourite players after that. How many top flight footballers would do that these days.

The incident you are talking about was c84/85 when a couple of vans of saints fans took it to their main pub. We had a few incidents with them around that time, the biggest being on the pitch at highbury after the 84 semi, which made big national news at the time.

So many great memories over about 12 years or so having been lucky enough to witness is whole career. Being in the Milton end when got a hatrick against Norwich, 3 great goals, the final one a run and chip from about 30 yards which hit the inside of the post and went in, was right in my eyeline and i knew it was in as soon as he hit it. The great header for the 4th in the 4-1 against Liverpool after he Rod Wallace, Shearer and Rideout had ripped them apart.. The two against Newcastle, last minute winner from a free kick against Villa at the Dell, beating two players and chipping Peter Schmichael, and of course the injury time winner against arsenal. Although a great player it was also the way he related to the fans, he was one of us, a great player and a great man, without him we'd have been relegated in the mid 90's ago and may never have recovered.

Wotte P w D L Pts Avergage PPG 18 4 7 7 19 1.05 Pearson P W D L Pts Average PPG 14 3 7 4 16 1.14 So if Pearson had continued at the average PPG he would have managed 18 games and achieve 20 points. One more than Wotte when Wotte had tougher circumstances to work in. Administration, worse team, relegation confirmed by 10 point deduction, dont forget he also tried to bring in some experience loan signings (which Pearson was able to do) but was unable to due to the financial constraints. We weren't relegated because of Wotte, we were relegated because of the boards gamble on the kids and the 6 or so months of crap before Wotte came in under JP. When the board did finally agree the kids experiement wasn't working it was to little to late but JP isnt blameless either as his tactics were poor and it was clear a few weeks into the season that one up front was never going to work, especially at home. Wotte and Pearsons records are very very similar, fact.

Not at all, for your information i liked Pearson, this he is/would be a good long term choice and wouldn't be disapointed to see him back, just making the point that a few on here seem to have rose tinted glasses when it comes to him and ignore the facts. Such as the fact that Wotte did a comparable job in more difficult circumstances.
-
Quite right, yes he did an okay job for us and has done well at Leciester in a divison that the manager of Romsey Town could guide out of (apparantly) but compare his record to Wottes and its pretty similar and it could be argued Wotte took over a worse team, in a greater decline and had no money to bring in experienced loans unlike Pearson (Daily, Luketti, That striker cant remember his name who was abolsute pony) . Dont quite see people saying the new regime have sacked our Messiah do we!

during the petrol shortage to Newcastle fans when we went 2-0 up c2000 "what a waste of petrol" From way back when, early 90's, Matt Le Tiss and Bryan Gunn then Norwich keeper go for a ball and end up rolling around together on the floor laughing, Milton started singing "Bryans got a hardon" To Brighton fans "does your boyfriend know your here?"
-
Is that not the point? no on really knows what he is. Hes played centre back, central defensive and attacking midfield and wide attacking midfield this season and been pony in all of them. Not got the pace for the wide midfield positions, the skill for attacking midfield or the aggression for defensive midfield. His stats say it all, he contributes nothing. He might be a decent sideways and backwards ball retention player but that is only so good as the players around you who to be fair to the kid have been pony too!! I know he's only a kid but to squander £1.2m on a kid when the club is in serious financial woe is just plain folly and in Lowes top 5 blunders.

SCUM!!! Ban them for life!!! How dare so many people stand around on the pitch doing nothing!!! Ban them for life, no jail them for life and throw away the key, these people are killing our club, i hope they never attend another match as they are destroying fooball too. Honestly i've never been so ashamed to be a saints fan....
-
Quite right Mr Romsey, when exactly the same thing happened at Derby when they beat us the play offs i didn't hear anything about about them being docked points did you? By everyone on heres reckonings every team that finishes in the top 6 or bottom 6 of any league this season will all be starting next season minus 10 points. Should make life a lot easier for us next season when there are antoher 12 teams starting on minus 10 too!! All this talk of fans clashing, fights with police, scum bans for life etc are absolute nonsense, did anyone actually see a punch thrown? I saw the whole thing and there was not one punch thrown. I cant believe we have got so many fans who make overreact to something of nothing calling for arrests and bans for life, its just pathetic, honestly, i've never been so embarassed to be a saints fan
-
Spot on fella, I had a ringside seat in block five and have to ask what actually happened? A few ran towards the Burnley end, a bit of posturing with the old bill, who by the way appeared to be looking and hoping for it to kick off, sining at the away fans with a couple of bottles thrown by both sides but hardly the battle of the alamo! Cant believe a non event can cause uproar of here with people claiming they've never been so ashamed to be saints fan!! Nothing really happened!!!!!
