spot on, that would be an achievement given the points deduction and the first 10 games. Next season i expect us to go up as champions.
-
brighton are pony at home, won only 3 times, i think we are more likely to lose to Bristol rovers, who are on a decent run or slip up against someone we should beat like Yeovil or Gills away.
-
more by the looks of it, average attenadance 21k, wembley tickets sold ofically 45k with others in neutral and Carlise areas. Where are the other 24k every week?
-
whatever happened to Hassan Kachloul? Got a bit big time, big money move then disappeared.

i dont think we are coming on the mong mobile, dont you try telling the driver the way, when he puts you right you'll be cowering in the back telling everyone what a top bloke he is if your "previous" with Mr Oldknow is anything to go by....
-
You want want be be doing you Harold Bishop esque ****e in there mate, its been designated a thugs pub, anyone that wears club shirts will have the sleeves ripped off and shoved up their backside and their ***** kicked as far and penge...

Watch it you mug or you might get a call out of the blue from someone at the club and melt quicker than an ice cube in a microwave. See you in the Green Man, if i'm feeling generous i might only nick all your days pocket money....

Every mistake at any level is now caught on TV. 25 years ago live football was a rare thing as were highlights so mistakes went largely unnoticed as technology was not about to blow the incidents up like it does these days. The only people who knew about it were those at the game or newspaper reporters. These days every big decision is on the telly and disected on messageboards like this for days afterwards. Refs are under so much pressure these days they need help, the only answer is using video footage for big decisions.

wy dont people just wear normal clothes rather than feeding the corporate juggernault that is modern day football and also they wont have to spend all their time worrying that they might be given a slap or kicked out of the ground for wearing colours?
-
how about what they do at glasgow rangers? Simply a guy with a microphone telling everyone how great GRFC are which a few blokes holding various pro-rangers flags with pro Rangers music, non of this "we welcome the away fans ********"..... Personally i've always felt that we should have the team come out to a stirring anthem like the Stone Roses "this is the one" if you dont know it this is it, imagine this belting out just before kick off, mild at first then 2 mins before it really hots up.... followed by the PA announcer totally ignoring the away fans, giving it all the "Welcome to St Marys, we are the best, we are going to win, etc......" Those words and music would inspire me...
-
But they dont change that much where "fans" are more interested in what goes on before the game and at half time than during it. Surely the purpose of going to a football match is to watch a football match, personally i couldn't give a toss if the PA announcer isn't champions league standard, all i care about is what goes on on the pitch whilst the match is in progress, not before it, during the break or after it.

agreed with that, i remember the days of getting into the ground as soon as te turnstiles opened to get your place at the back of the Milton, underneath the family centre if the weather was ****, then the brass band before the game and at half time, those were the days. You didn't have people moaning about the queues and quality of the pies and beer, quality of their replica shirt (hardly anyone wore one) crap pre match and half time entertainment and the matchday programme back then! No one gave a toss, we were there for the match, thats the trouble with fans these days, they are consumers, sometimes i wonder if they'd settle for a crap match provided they didn't have to queue for beer, had someone doing stand up at half time and had Gordon Ramsey made pies.
-
agreed, both of them would be comfortable in the CCC. unfortuntely when a defender gives the ball away it can often lead to trouble, when a striker does it, it goes unnoticed.
-
Just before their goal someone, i cant remember who, gave the ball away really cheaply under no pressure which basically cost us the goal. That was very poor.
-
dont for one minute pretend that you have been anywhere near a female, and with all the money you are saving on beer and fags you can get yourself some decent clobber and finally pension off your ben sherman gear.
-
to be fair you can only take what allocation you are allowed!

We had several good chances, on another day we would have been out of sight by half time, Swindon had a game plan which worked but also had a fair bit of luck too, two off the line, we hit the post and cross bar, their goal had a look of offside about it, on another day it might have been given but sometimes they go for you sometimes they dont. If one of those shots goes in in the first half its a different game as Swindon wouldn't have been able to sit back. Anyway, this has all been done on other threads, one thing is for sure though, if one of those shots had gone in in the first half and we had won 1-0 rather than losing then i'm sure no one would be saying we were crap and all our new signings are awful.
-
"AWFUL"? Are you sure? I wouldn't have said anyone was awful last night, (apart from Lloyd James) £250k for Puncheon apparantly, this will prove to be a steal, the guy has got so much potential. He was superb against Leeds, last night was his first bad game that i have seen. £250 for Barnard, good bit of business, for the second highest goal scorer in league one. Agree that £1.2m is a lot for a centre half at Championship level and a huge amount at our level and think it might have been over the odds but Fonte is a class act and the best centre half i have seen this season. There is no doubt, no doubt at all though that the Jan signings have improved the squad. i would say Fonte, Otsemebor & Puncheon have improved the side and were better than what was in that position before, Barnard was needed as we were crying out for another striker and Seaborne will improve.

well he wasn't out of his depth against Norwich.
-
Yeah, if they didn't have colours on they must have been trouble makers or away fans. Real fans wear colours.

Swindon played very well and probably deserved the win, tactics spot on as they hit us quick on the break and scored that way although possibly offside. We hit the woodwork twice and had two off the line, if we had scored when we were well on top different story as they wouldn't have been able to play on the counter. We weren't as bad as everyone is making out but we weren't good either, Puncheon had two on him all the time so allowed little space. Our crossing was awful and we seemed to run out of ideas with about 20 mins to go and humped it forward all the time. James was dire when he came on, hes not played for a while and it cant have helped his confidence when his first touch was awful and the crowd were on his back straight away, that said though, he was terrible. Rickie unlucky to hit the bar with a great effort. All in all though not good enough, on paper who in the Swindon team would you pick ahead of the saints team? , too many of our players not quite at it today, unlike saturday to many lose balls, poor delivery from crosses and a ran out of ideas, to much hoofing it long.

Otsembor is worth a deal, i'd also like us to keep Conolly too as he is class at this level. I'd also like to keep Antonio and Waigo but dont think they'd be hapy being players. When Connolly is fit Waigo is fourth choice striker and no way will Antonio get in ahead of Lallana or Puncheon. The rest can go, all surpluss to requirements.

who gives a toss? It means nothing.
-
Not really, average two points a game, which we have done the last 24 games, do it over a season gives 92 points. That will be enough to make us champions next season.
