In this league and for the matter the CCC, who would you have in your team ahead of him?
-
Manager of the year IMO, done an amazing job. Fair play to the guy, agree that he always came a cross as a decent guy even when i saw him interviewed as a player. Hope he has a long and successful career in management and if he carries on like this a bigger club (no disrespect to Bournemouth) will be knocking on his door before to long.

Plymouth is 200 od miles away! If that is a local derby then so are all the London and mdlands clubs!

read the above thread mate, its common sense approach. Would they let a peadophile hang around outside a school do nothing then when he abuses a kid, nick him three weeks later and say what a great job they had done. Letting home and away fans out at the same time in a local derby anywhere in the world is asking for trouble. yes you will get people looking for trouble but that is why 300 odd police were on duty!!

well maybe, but the whole basis of British law is that everyone gets a fair trial. Personally i think this is ********. For one, the prosection are funded by the state and usually work on behalf of the police so are hell bent on a conviction, not playing fairly with the other barristers. The defence solicitor unless you pay for it yourselves, dont really give a toss as all they are there for is to make sure the defence dont take the **** with points of law in court, they get their money via legal aid so as long as they show up every day then they are laughing all the way to the cash point. Then there are directives from the home office which influcence the sentancing given and the amount of time, effort and money put into an investigation and trial. You are convicted on the evidence too, now that i not always as cut and dried as it may seem as in a lot of cases the prosecution cant prove the whys and hows but under pressure in the dock and being interegated by someone who has been paid to do this for years they can always make you look like a ****, just by picking up on one sentance you may say during cross examination and ripping it to pieces. Then there is the jury a little while back there was a football case where no football fans were allowed on the jury. Why? If there was a death by dangerous driving trial would the judge insist the jury were all none car drivers? Because if the jury is full of women and non football fan men then they are easier to influence than a 25 year old season ticket holder who knows most lads of that age go for a beer before and after etc. Once you are in the system and the police want a conviction and high sentances they will get it regardless if what you actually did. The only way you have a chance is if the police **** up or you pay through the nose for your own top notch brief and not many can afford that. And before all you lefties starts screaming from the cyber roof tops that if you are guilty then you deserve everything you get i am not talking about people getting off when guilty i am talking generally about people who are innocent being found guilty or people being screwed over on trumped up charges when a lesser charge would have been more fitting.

15 odd goals from left back in an average at best side is pretty impressive, i think they have got it pretty spot on to be honest Kelvin Davis (Southampton), Frazer Richardson (Charlton), Patrick Kisnorbo (Leeds), Gary Doherty (Norwich), Ian Harte (Carlisle), Wes Hoolahan (Norwich), Jason Puncheon (Southampton), Robert Snodgrass (Leeds), Nicky Bailey (Charlton), Rickie Lambert (Southampton), Grant Holt (Norwich). Doherty is the best CF i've seen this season apart from Fonte, kept Lambert quiet twice this season. I might possibly stick Lallana in ahead of Puncheon but i think its a fairly accurate reflection over the whole season, hence why Kisnorbo gets the nod over Fonte.

They dont even have to use violence, just threaten to use it, there is no stipulation on if anything is in the way or the seriousness of the intent. Sour Mash is right around the person of reasonable firmness being in fear of their safety too. The person doesn't even have to be there, it is judged on IF someone was there. Although what the yardstick for this is is anyones guess. I saw the incident after the Pompey game and didn't particularly feel in fear for my safety but then i have been to 500+ football matches all over the country over the last 25 years and seen worse, even seen worse in a City Centre and outside night clubs in town. However, if a 40 year old upper class woman that had never been outside of the Cotswolds before had been there then they might have been. That is when the prosecution can manipulate the trial to their favour.

12.3 Section 2 - Violent Disorder This is the more likely charge in the case of serious public disorder. In order to be liable the accused must use or threaten violence in the following circumstances: a) where three or more people (including the accused) use or threaten unlawful violence and b) the conduct of them taken together is such as would cause a person of reasonable firmness to fear for their personal safety. Notes on Violent Disorder The difference from riot is as follows: a) Only 3 persons who are present together are required to use or threaten violence b) The accused person may be guilty if he merely threatens violence. c) There is no requirement that the violence be used or threatened for a common purpose. So if three people are stood together and shout across the road at someone else they are going to hit them then according to this they are guilty of violent disorder. You dont even have to do anything, just threaten to use violence. THis carries a 5 year maximum sentance. So rattling a fence or calling someone a c**t could in theory land you with a 5 year jail term. Yet there seems no difference between violent disorder where nothing happens and threatening behaviour which carries a maximum of 6 months apart from when it suits the police.
-
They will get prison AND a ban. Anyone that is sent down for football related offences automatically get a minimum of a 6 year ban. So you think that a these guys deserve a longer sentance than someone who has been twice convicted of peadophillia? That is what you are saying is it not?
-
5 years is the maximum for violent disorder, which they have been charged with, they will get an automatic 6 year minimum football ban too. 2 years was mentioned higher up the thread as being the sentance they are looking at. So i'll ask again. In your eyes, is that right?

http://www.thestar.co.uk/rotherham/Paedophile39s-jail-sentence-cut.5915215.jp?CommentPage=1&CommentPageLength=10 First case i found when looking at it, so didn't have to look to hard. 2nd time the guy had been convicted of sex crimes yet 2 years for a second conviction for the same thing was deemed to much and the sentance was reduced to 18 months. They are on about 2 years for the supposed riot at Freeborne Garage where a couple of people threw stones and rattled fences. Is that right in your eyes TDD?
-
and the point is that people spend less time in jail for being a peodophille than they do for throwing a punch at football. Is that right?
-
it isn't welcome, of course it isn't, but it happens. I just dont understand the logic from the police behind letting it happen, i thought they were there to prevent trouble not almost encourage it. The police dont let known peadophiles hang around outside school gates, do nothing except videoing them, let them do what they like and then nick them a few weeks later once they've committed an offence do they.

The amount of Pious, self righteous ****s on here never ceases to amaze me. It was a local derby, tensions run high and people do things they wouldn't normally do. At the end of the day the OB are there to prevent disorder and at no other derby anywhere else in the country would they let home and away fans out together. The OB ****ed up or let it happen, end of, they know it and now they want to prove a point by ****ing over some soft targets. You can go anywhere in the world, Roma v Lazio, Boca Juniors v river Plate, Inter v AC, Barc v Real Mardrid, Ajax v Feyenoord, i could go on and you'll get both sets of fans hating each other and wanting a row, thats football, its tribal, is passionate and at times is hostile and violent, its might not be right but that is how it is and that is what makes football the worlds greatest game. Say all you like about people having the choice to do what they want and take responsibilty for their actions etc and yes they do, but if any of you self rigteous cu*ts slating have lot have ever been to a football match and not shown any amount of passion, vitrol or aggression towards the away fans, players or referee especially in a game that means alot, then you are not a proper football fan. Yes the ones that throw things, or did what ever they did may have overstepped the mark, but did they do any worse than you or I wanted to do that day? did they ****, i think some people need to get off their high horse and see the legal system for what it is, a ****ing disgrace that is more interested in headline news than catching real criminals, lets face it, if we hadn't had anyone nicked for events on the 13th of Feb, if there had been no TV programme, echo headlines on no less thean 5 occasions would we still be talking about it? Of course we ****ing wouldn't, thats how much in the public interest this whole farcial affair is, iy sells papers, it makes good TV, it get people talking and it its gets the OB slapping themselves on the back with what a good job they are doing, meanwhile, nonces are roaming the streets, people are being stabbed every weekend and if you haven't been burgeled then you are one of the lucky ones, the legal system in this country is a ****ing joke.

If you saw Antonio earlier this season people will realise how much he has come, he really hasd developed since he has been with us and at his age can only continue to improve and if he is out of contract at Reading available for nowt so a steal. Papa is decent, clearly loves it here but it depends on £££, if they want £250k+ IMO there is better available. i like him think he has done well but depends on how much Fiorentina want for him, hopefully the deal will include a friendly out there as i'd love an excuse to visit Florence.

You obviously dont know anything about football then.

Some might call it an establishment fit up JRM, they think they've got them.

Spot on.

no it isn't stupid at all. derby game, home fans angry due to being turned over in a game we could and probably should have won. Tensions run high, letting fans out into the streets at the same time is in my opinion, asking for trouble, regardless of what people say about having a choice got a derby anywhere in the country or world and there are always going to be people up for a ruck, like it or not. Common sense says keep them in until the areas immediately around the ground are clear, like we are kept in at Fratton Park. Personally i think that the reason for all this is 1/ the OB let it happen in an attempt to get some bans put on know 'risk element' or 2/ They ****ed up in doing what they did and know they did and are now trying to cover their arses in allowing a flash point to happen.
-
They have been charged with violent disorder, the maximum sentance is 5 years.
-
:smt120 Anyone that thinks those boys deserve to even been banged up for their "violence" lives on a different planet. Such a thing as punishment fitting the crime.

I do own a stone island jumper yes, not because when i put it on i feel invicible like an invisible forcefield of hardness has encapulated me, but because i liked the jumper in the shop. I also own other labels as well that you might call "casual", bought them not so people would think i am hard though, simply because i liked them, does that make me one of the wannabe SI brigade? What trainers do you wear then if addidas retro ones are rubbish? Bet you're a K Swiss man...

Do you wear a saints shirt?
